Three night itinerary
Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge is set at the heart of Vancouver Island’s natural wild-west playground. Get ready for a choose-your-own-adventure style escape where the landscape and wildlife combine in a backdrop to exhilarating, unforgettable experiences. Guests are presented with a personalised itinerary upon arrival, with guided signature, special interest and wellness experiences included in the tariff and shared with fellow guests at scheduled times. Private experiences can be arranged at additional cost subject to availability.
Three Night Clayoquot Classic
The following represents an indicative experience over three nights. Many factors influence the delivered itinerary including pre-booked activities and weather conditions. Any special arrangements made in advance or once at the lodge will be choreographed by our team and your itinerary customised to ensure the very best experience of both lodge and island.
Day 1 Welcome
Step off the seaplane and onto a horse-drawn wagon for a short ride to the lodge surrounded by nature’s magnificent playground. Check-in and peruse your personalised itinerary while sipping a glass of Canadian sparkling wine.
Day 1 Late Afternoon
Spend the afternoon exploring and get your bearings around The Outpost or kick back at The Ivanhoe with canapés and cocktails while you drink in mesmerising views of Clayoquot Sound.
Included in every stay
A stay at the lodge features a host of generous inclusions such as guided signature, special interest and wellness experiences, all gourmet dining, a selection of premium beverages and use of e-bikes, mountain bikes and watercraft.
Check in Check-in days are on Sundays and Thursdays only. Check-in time is 3.30pm. Guests arriving outside the standard check-in time are welcome to enjoy the lodge facilities.

Day 1 Night
As night falls, enjoy dinner in The Cookhouse, the warm convivial heart of the lodge, surrounded by the theatre-like ambience of the open kitchen as our team of chefs dish up contemporary coastal cuisine.
Day 2 Morning
Begin your day with an invigorating Glacial Plunge experience. After a hearty breakfast, meet your guide and get back to nature on the Penny Falls Trail Hike, passing by scenic lookouts, swimming holes and a waterfall.
Day 2 Afternoon
Sip to Sky is the perfect heli experience blending the thrill of a scenic flight with the tranquillity of a luxury picnic amongst the clouds. Don’t forget your swimmers, this area is full of alpine lakes situated 4000 ft above sea level (additional charge applies).
Day 2 Late Afternoon
Spend the afternoon at leisure, ride to The Oasis for a swim or claim the ceder hot tub on the far side of The Outpost and soak in the estuary views – keep an eye out for the resident river otters and silver herons.
Day 2 Night
Enjoy dinner in The Cookhouse before moving to the outdoor firepits for dessert and after dinner drinks while you gaze up to the heavens. Count how many shooting stars you see!

Day 3 Morning
After breakfast, it’s time for the must-do Sights of the Sound marine adventure. Catch a glimpse of bears foraging along the shoreline, a whale breaching, otters and seals and even orcas if you’re lucky!
Day 3 Afternoon
Following lunch in The Cookhouse or outdoors on the deck, dive into the excitement of canyoning. Prepare for an e-bike ride followed by a paddle up the glacier-fed Bedwell River and a (voluntary!) leap into the whitewater. Awesome!
Day 3 Late Afternoon
Take a well-earned moment to relax the muscles in the sauna before having a massage at the Healing Grounds Spa to encourage the recovery process, ready for the next adventure.

Day 3 Night
Let our bartender mix your favourite cocktail in The Ivanhoe before dining in one of our private tents. Make sure you leave room for a night cap on the rooftop deck under a sky full of stars. A magical evening!
Day 4 Morning
Rise and shine thanks to a steaming hot coffee delivered to your tent ‘door’. Fuel up with breakfast before a morning of guided watersports, picking your craft from the fleet of canoes, double kayaks and SUPs.

Day 4 Farewell
Following lunch, stay local in The Outpost and play a game of ‘lawn chess’ or billiards while awaiting the arrival of the seaplanes. Finely timed by the team, the horse-drawn carriage will ferry you to the dock for your onward journey.

Heli Fly Fishing
Cast on for an unforgettable day of fishing, touring some of the world’s most remote and protected rivers and lakes. The hook of this adventure is specialty guide Mike Archer - his local knowledge of the alpine lakes accessible only by heli where large trout are abundant, is unparalleled. Operates seasonally from late May - July 13 and August 17September 22, 2025. Reservation essential in advance.
