Loving Her Danielle & Bailey Est. 2022
10/23/2026
11/2/2021 A new space with new walls. A new room with a new bed. A new dresser and a new way to fold my clothes. A new bookshelf with new books. Books I’ve never read. Books I’ve never known. Books I might read. I might learn. A new life. In a new place. With a new heart and new taste.
Unknown can become known in this world. Unheard can be made loud Where I sit now. The possibilities are endless, and the ties are few. I can sit. I can stand. I can walk. I can run. I can fly. With you.
11/7/2021 Danielle, if this crazy thing works out, I want to document some of my feelings. Mostly because we’ve talked about a world where we don’t constantly want to be together. I hope that doesn’t happen, but if it does, I’ll celebrate it. It would mean we did it. That we crossed the plane from exciting to mundane. I do want to cross that plane with you. I want to live in a world where drinking coffee together in the morning feels so normal it’s sickening (but in the best way). I think we can build a world where normality, safety, and excitement can coexist and sit together on the most comfortable couch. Perhaps even a couch where we can spoon. Spoons are another new cute thing with you. We share a spoon for our morning coffee. I’d love to share spoons for longer if you’d let me. Don’t forget me. 24-year-old me. 24-year-old me who is in love with 32-year-old you. If you can remember me, I think I can remember you too.
11/14/2021 Danielle, today you told me that you thought that I was your person. I think you’re my person too. I love you. I love your faces. And I love that I’m dead tired because I spend so much time with you, but I want to write about you. I want to write to you! You inspire me, and that is a gift. You are a gift. The best gift I’ve ever known, and one I hope to have, cherish, and keep.
2/22/22 I love the dark, I love exploring you. It’s hard to know where I start and where you begin. But I know that I love the touch of your skin. If my eyes could sing praises of your beauty, I could melt gold I want your soul Be mine. Be whole. I love the light. Every cell of your body Illuminates mine. Shining as glistening honey shines. For you, for me, for a world in need.
Your clarity, cut, and color Could change a hardened heart from stone to lava. You’ve won me over, and over, and over, and over again. It was only a matter of time. Will you be mine? Forever. I want to ask you to marry me.
12/22/22 Your skin is my favorite texture A tapistry of warmth Wrapped around me I feel your sould in the grip of my hands I want to hold you forever Mind, body, spirit All held within mine A firmer embrace As our lives intertwine
I know I love you because I feel the safest I’ve ever felt in my life I know that because I am the silliest I’ve ever been in my whole life I know that because even I get annoyed with myself sometimes I know I love you because even when you’re in the next room, I miss you I know that because I crave the touch of your skin wherever we are Even if we’re just separated by a couch cushion I know I love you because life with you is everything I’ve ever dreamed about I know that because I never wanted to leave your side even when I thought we were just friends And because I wanted to be happy like the lesbians in Florida I saw… now I get to be happy with you I love you because you are kind and sweet, nice and special I know that because you don’t just love and care about me beautifully, fiercely, and tenderly You love your family, friends, coworkers, and strangers in a way I will always admire I love you because you are brave I know that because I am continuously proud and impressed by your ability to stand tall. Even if your legs may quiver or if it’s easier to stand with someone beside you
I know that I love you because I always want to stand beside you Today and forever, and here at Joshua Tree, saying sweet things and giggling in your ear. I want to be your partner, friend, lover, companion, confidant, masseuse, chef, chauffeur, dog mom, and wife forever So I vow to Always make sure to have the most efficient route to snacks and food when you are hungry. To keep tater tots stocked in the freezer always. To kiss you before you leave the house and before you go to bed. Even if we’re rushing to get out the door or I’m feeling just a little too tired to stretch my neck all the way over to you when we’re half asleep. I vow to laugh with you and cry with you. To choose you as long as I have the opportunity to. To be kind when it counts and when it doesn’t. I also vow to make promises I can keep, which is why you don’t see anything about keeping the sink clear of dishes. I vow to cherish you, love you, honor your personhood, humanity, heart, mind, spirit, soul, and any other word man-made language has created to describe the self. I vow to you my whole heart, whole self, and my whole life.
1/26/22 You are art Every line of your body, A brushstroke from above Every freckle and spot A new color Bringing intrigue to my life’s canvas Movement is laced within your soul Spinning, twirling Be mine. Behold.
The shine in your eyes That Can’t quite be captured The curve of your hips That can only be known By my hands Holding, molding our future world growing together Life is pure in your form
9/13/24 #25 From 35 Things I Love About You I love exploring the world with you and how we could go just about anywhere, but being among the trees ( just about anywhere) is something that brings out the most wonder in you.
May our life together be as vast, sacred, and pure as our love.
