Preperation
Rinsing Your Lines
Turn Off the Cooler and Gas: Begin by turning off the cooler and gas supply to prevent any accidents or contamination during the cleaning process.
Rinse the Lines Thoroughly: After the cleaning solution has done its job, flush the lines with clean water again to remove any remaining solution. Ensure no cleaning solution is left in the lines as it can affect the taste of the beer.
Disconnect the Kegs: Remove the kegs from the system and ensure that all beer is drained from the lines.
Cleaning Process Connect the Cleaning Pump: Attach the cleaning pump to the beer lines. This can be a hand pump or an electric pump, depending on your setup. Flush the Lines with Water: Flush the lines with clean water to remove any residual beer. This ensures the cleaning solution can work effectively. Note: Some systems require the cleaning gas to be turned on. Also, bleed the FOB detector and flush with water. Prepare the Cleaning Solution: Mix the beer line cleaning solution according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Use a bucket or a cleaning container for this purpose. Pump the Cleaning Solution Through the Lines: Pump the cleaning solution through the lines, ensuring it reaches all parts of the system. Let the solution sit in the lines for around 10 minutes to break down any buildup.
Note: Bleed the FOB detector to remove the solution. Aim for two clear pints of water to be visible before finishing the flushing. Use pH test papers to ensure no cleaning solution remains in the system. Sanitise the Equipment: After cleaning, sanitise all parts of the system, including the faucets and connectors, to ensure they are free from any harmful bacteria.
Reconnecting and Testing Reconnect the Kegs: Once everything is clean and sanitised, reconnect the kegs to the system. Prepare the system for use: Turn off the cleaning gas supply and then turn on the dispense gas and cooler to get the system ready for use. Note: Bleed the FOB detector again. Pull Beer Through the Lines: Pull beer through the lines to ensure everything is working correctly and that no residual cleaning solution is left in the system.
This is a basic outline of how beer lines can be cleaned, please always refer to the product manufacturer instructions before using any products. We can provide these based on the products you use should you require them.
Note: Bleed the FOB detector to remove water. Clean the Faucets and Connectors while the cleaning solution is soaking: Remove the faucets from the taps and soak them in the cleaning solution. Use a brush to scrub away any residue or buildup. Inspect and clean the connectors thoroughly with the cleaning solution and a brush.
