2025 April Quarterly Newsletter Farewell to Mayor Alan Brundrett On May 13, 2025, Mayor Brundrett will convene his last city council meeting. After 22 years serving the citizens of this community, eight (8) years as council member and fourteen (14) years as mayor, he feels it is time to step back and allow new leadership to take the reins. Under his leadership, Azle has seen many transformative changes including new facilities like the new city hall/ police station complex and a new fire station; park upgrades such as the establishment of Central Park and the splashpad; creation of The FeedLot, Azle’s first food truck park; financial stability; increased retail presence; and many new housing developments. The impact of Mayor Brundrett’s service to this community will be felt for generations. Join us in thanking him for his incredible contributions to our community at a reception on May 13, 2025 from 4:00 – 5:30 pm in the Community Room at Azle City Hall, 505 W. Main Street.

Azle Welcomes New Assistant City Manager The City of Azle is pleased to welcome Amber Beard as Assistant City Manager. Amber brings over a decade of experience in municipal government and a strong commitment to public service. Her most recent roles include serving as the Director of Public Works for the City of Colleyville and General Manager of the Schertz/Seguin Local Government Corporation. Amber holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Tarleton State University. She is a member of the International City/County Management Association, Texas City Management Association, Texas Municipal League, and currently serves on Tarleton State University’s Master of Public Administration Program Advisory Board. Amber expressed her enthusiasm about the new role, stating, “I am excited to join the City of Azle and honored to serve this wonderful community. I look forward to working with the team to strengthen the community and preserve the unique charm that makes Azle such a special place to live and work.”
