The Ecomuseum protects and tells the story of the historical and cultural practices preserved in the Meledrio Valley. The thematic route begins near the ancient Venetian Saw Mill and continues along the turpentine trail. It then follows the Meledrio stream until it reaches the old water-powered forge and the lime kiln. The workshops located along the valley are symbols of a once-flourishing industry centered on the production of lime, forest and pastoral products, timber, limestone, and iron.

An interesting exhibition itinerary hosted by the Presanella Social Dairy, that leads to the discovery of the world of cheese and its production. Through a large glass window, visitors can observe all stages of milk processing, culminating in the impressive ‘caveau’: the Trentingrana maturing warehouse. San Michele Castle

The castle is located on a rocky outcrop and it dates back to the Lombard period, even though the first written material regarding the castle is dated 1191. The castle’s tower, which is 25 meters high, is the best conserved and most characteristic feature of the entire castle.

Space of cultural encounters, laboratories and exhibits, which shows the various tools used for the traditional linen production and preserves the reproduction of the ancient loom of the rural home Casa Grazioli; the original one is preserved in the Trentino Ethnographic Museum of San Michele. Through a historical story concerning the weaving, the guest will comprehend and discover the procedure of the linen production, throughout the use of the exposed tools. Therefore, in the weaving room dedicated to the master Gianni Rigotti, it is possible to observe the various steps followed to transform the ball of yarn into the finished product. Alpine noble residence, once belonging to the Lombard Migazzi family until the mid-18th century. An architectural treasure that has seen countless uses, from dairy to library, from rectory to headquarters of various associations. It now hosts on the first floor a permanent exhibition dedicated to the illustrious Cardinal Cristoforo Antonio, and on the second floor, temporary exhibitions. From December 16 to February 1, the exhibition “Hydrographies – Historical Cartography of the Val di Pejo” will be on display.

Torre Civica of Trento
Built before the 11th century, the tower increased in height several times. With its big clock, it accompanies the flow of time in the square. However, the tower was used in the past as a city jail and it still houses the Campana della Regna, the bell that used to call the arengo, or public assemblies and death sentences, which were carried out in Piazza Duomo beneath it. Not accessible to children under 1. 20 m.

It is a magnificent example of an elegant residence, which takes its name from the large polychrome mosaic that can be admired in the reception room: it is a real mosaic carpet measuring 56 square metres, in the center of which Orpheus is depicted sitting on a rock, intent on playing the lyre to enchant the animals with his music.

Val di Sole Cheese
Cheese is absolutely central to the gastronomy of Val di Sole. This tasty mountain dairy product is made and directly available from different producers as well as from the two main dairies in the valley: “Cercen” in Terzolas and “Presanella” in Mezzana. Alongside the flavoursome Trentingrana, local cooked cheeses ripened to different degrees, are other outstanding varieties of Casolét, a traditional product of Val di Sole.

Taxi - Car Rental with Driver
There isn’t a proper taxi service in Val di Sole charging taximeter fares, but it is possible to hire a car with a driver. Fares are calculated on a lump-sum basis depending on distance, route and time. There are no taxi stops and the service is to be asked to and agreed upon with the carriers themselves.

Medical assistance is provided at a cost of Euro 30,00 for office visits and Euro 40,00 for house calls.
If patients do not provide a medical assistance card (TEAM - European Health Insurance Card or a document issued from a country that has undersigned an agreement) the entire fee must be paid, including patients that are insured with a personal insurance policy.

Only in case of an EMERGENCY, patients can contact the valley’s Servizio di Continuità Assistenziale (Continuous Medical Assistance) which is available on Saturdays, Sundays and during the nights from 20.00 to 8.00.
