harry potter series
by Sahan, Year 7 Aylesbury Grammar School
The elegant 8 Harry Potter series aren’t just fantastic; it is a journey of growing up, courage and friendship It all starts off with vigorous Voldemort destroying Lily and James Potter to him getting destroyed by superior Harry Potter These books show that life isn’t life without a little risk. Even the people you trust most could be your enemies. Harry’s struggle against Voldemort is not only a battle of good versus evil but also a test of loyalty, bravery, and the importance of choices. These books might be long, but it won’t let you put the book down.
Harry Potter is widely praised for its engaging story, intricate world-building, and ability to captivate both children and adult readers. If there was a book I could extend, it would easily be The heavenly Harry potter books

My Poem
by Hugh, Year 8 Aylesbury Grammar School
I’ve written this poem ‘cause I had nothing else I could say, I was stuck there for ages, just bored, I felt I long way-a-way, all the time just ripping out pages, or trying to control my frustrated rages
soIdecidedtoturnmy blockintowriting
I decided to write a poem about, how I couldn’t write a poem like I was sat there bored, whilst teachers were, talking about ladies and lords, and knights and swords, and writing who-knows-what on the white board
andmy mind,itjustcouldn’thelpbut driftaway
mybrain was
I just couldn’t get grip, I was drowning in metaphors, similes too, my alliteration pushing me further, into the angry, atramentous, aphotic, anguished abyss and I wanted to scream and have a flip
but then words suddenly started to flow, but I couldn’t get grip, like a wet bar of soap, at the bottom of a sink,
I was getting tired it was giving me the bores, nothing I did got me fired it felt worse than doing chores,
all the things I wanted to write about, they wouldn’t rhyme nor fit in time or go in line and the words – they just didn’t feel like mine
but then my words were getting stronger, my rhymes were getting longer, I knew I could conquer, I was no longer somber,
everything just started to click, like two, two-by-four lego bricks
I knew what I should do, I had it, I knew it, I could do it
I was gonna write a poem, about what I couldn’t do which was to write a poem
