Specifications
As part of our partnering contract, Axis refurbished a firedamaged two-bedroom flat at 22 Goldcrest House, London for our client L&Q.
• Strip-out and removal of fire damaged materials • Deep cleaning and decontamination • M&E works • Installation of insulation and plasterboard • Replacement of balcony ceiling, doors, flooring • Internal redecoration
Works began with a full strip-out of all materials affected by the fire. This included the removal of fire-damaged walls, ceilings, and flooring, along with all fixtures, fittings and furnishings that had been contaminated by smoke and soot. A deep cleaning process was undertaken to remove all traces of smoke residue and odours. Following the cleaning and decontamination, the structural elements of the flat were assessed to confirm safety. Mechanical and electrical systems, including wiring, plumbing, and heating were evaluated and replaced in line with safety standards. New insulation and plasterboard were installed across all walls and ceilings to reinstate the internal structure. Property underwent full internal redecoration. New flooring was laid in every room, and the ceiling was replaced, along with upgraded fire compliant balcony doors. The flat was fully decorated and deep cleaned, restoring it to a safe, habitable standard in line with fire regulations.
