Fire Safety Improvement Programme Eldon Housing Association Care Facilities, London and Croydon
Highlights
Specifications
Axis delivered a fire safety improvement programme across three care facilities and one Extra Care Scheme: Fellows Court (40 homes), Langley Oaks (40 bedrooms), Addington Heights (50 bedrooms) and Heavers Court (60 bedrooms). Delivered between March 2025 and March 2026, the programme focused on improving fire safety through compartmentation to communal areas, alongside fire door surveys, maintenance and replacements works.
• Compartmentation works • Fire door surveys • Fire door maintenance • Fire door installation • Communal upgrades
All works were carried out in fully occupied buildings, requiring careful planning, sequencing and close coordination with care teams. As many residents were living with dementia, a controlled, floor-by-floor approach was adopted to maintain safety and minimise disruption. Where standard floor protection caused distress or confusion, alternative printed materials were used to improve and support resident comfort and orientation. Regular communication with Eldon Housing Association, Care UK and Croydon Council supported delivery throughout.
