Sandy Balls Holiday Park presents
Park life General Manager Wow, what a summer we have had at Sandy Balls, perhaps one of the most memorable on record with a heatwave that we will never forget. When it soared to over 30˚C, keeping our much-loved resident alpacas cool was a priority, so they
were treated to a nice cold shower a few times a day! I am sure quite a few of you will remember the heavy downpours that broke up the many days of hot, hot sun, one of which fell on the day that we had planned to host our Colour Festival. Rain delayed play until the following day when clouds of coloured powder filled the air as our guests, led by the entertainment team, celebrated summer in all its glory with inspiration provided by the Indian festival of Holi. For the first time at Sandy Balls, we teamed up with the prestigious Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts to provide our younger guests with an opportunity to enjoy acting, dance, singing

and film making classes over a week, with the performers putting on a show on the last day of the course. As you can imagine, it was a great success. And hopefully you heard – or were part of – our evenings with Covent Garden’s Royal Opera House. Away Resorts partnered with the iconic Royal Opera House to show live outdoor opera and ballet broadcasts this summer at
four of Away Resorts’ six parks. And we were lucky enough to be one of the parks to screen performances of Swan Lake back in June and Don Giovanni in July. So with the busy summer period firmly behind us, we are looking forward to a more gentle pace during autumn, and hopefully, we will see many of you around the park over the next few months.
