Australasian Dance Collective’s
2025 Mature Ensemble has worked collectively with Mature Program Coordinator and original cast member Jaime Redfern to create an adaptation of Alone Together, a landmark 1995 work by founding director Maggi Sietsma am
Drawing inspiration from the evocative paintings of Edward Hopper, Alone Together explores a stark yet poetic world of memory and life’s big questions, peeling back the polished surface to reveal the heart and hidden currents beneath everyday existence.

This fresh take on Alone Together has come to life thanks to the wonderful contributions, enthusiasm and wisdom of the Mature Ensemble participants. Their creative spirit and adventurous energy show that boldness only gets better with age — it’s truly inspiring!
It’s been a genuine pleasure in our 40th year to welcome company alumni TerriLee Milne and Katie Joel to the Mature Ensemble for Alone Together — a big thank you for the deep experience and passion they’ve brought to this performance.

Special thanks as well to Maggi Sietsma am and Abel Valls for so generously sharing the opportunity to restage Alone Together with the Mature Ensemble in 2025.
