Freshman Year – Adjusting to High School

• Transition to High School – Helps students acclimate to academic expectations and new responsibilities.

• Course and Activity Guidance – Advises on selecting courses, clubs, and athletics aligned with student strengths.

• College Planning Information Night – Introduces students and parents to early planning and decision-making.

• Summer Exploration – Encourages meaningful summer activities that support growth and self-discovery.

Sophomore Year – Charting the Course

• Academic Progress – Guides students in sustaining strong performance across subjects.

• Exploring Passions – Encourages students to identify interests and values through activities and service.

• College Planning Information Night – Prepares families for what to expect in the college search process.

• Campus Visits – Recommends touring a variety of colleges during the summer to begin exploring fit.

Junior & Senior Year – Demonstrating College Readiness

• Application Preparation – Guides students one-on-one through every step of the college application process.

• College Essay Creation – Provides personalized support, including review by the Faculty Reading Committee, to help students craft a personal statement that sets them apart.

• School List Planning – Works with students to develop a thoughtful, balanced list of prospective colleges.

• Test Prep & Practice Exams – Offers SAT/ACT preparation and real testing experiences to build confidence.

• BISCAA College Fair – As one of 40 member schools in the Boston Independent School College Counselors Association (BISCAA), Austin Prep students are granted exclusive access to this college fair to connect directly with admissions representatives.

• College Connections – Introduces students to admissions officers at the annual Catholic College Fair at Austin Prep and from school visits to campus held throughout the year.
