The Battle for an Iconic Name MCF Refused to Fade Away
ByMaxim Alfred DʼSouza
The establishment of the New MangaluruPortatPanamburduring early 1970s served as the gateway for development in a region previously known for traditional trades like Mangaluru tiles and cashew processing. Thus, paving Gateway to the Industrial Revolution in the coastal region.
Because of all weather port at Panambur – Mangalore, industries started to come in and around the port. Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd (MCF) was the first major industry, related to the agricultural fieldinKarnataka State, which started functioning in 1976, becoming a cornerstone of India’s Green Revolution thattook placein 1970s.
Resilience Through Transformation
Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd (MCF) was established on 18 July1966 in Bangalore by private players and with the partnership of
Government of Karnataka, the company went public in 1967. MCF adopted established licensed technologies, including Kellogg-ICI for Ammonia production and the Stamicarbon CO2Stripping Process for Urea. MCF started functioning during middle years of 1970s. However, chronic power shortages andsummerwatercrisesfrequently brought the plant to a standstill.
These struggles, combined with administrative hurdles, led to the companybeing labeleda"sickunit" in 1991 despite addressing power issue and water shortages, eventually leading to itsacquisition bytheUBGroup.
Private Control and Productivity Gains
Under private control, MCF underwent a difficult
transformation. Despite a 50% reduction in manpower (a bitter reality ofjob creations), technology upgrades boosted production significantly, reaching a capacity of 1,400 Metric Ton per Day (MTD) today. Even when government subsidies were threatened to naphtha-based units, public outcry savedtheplant, ensuringitssurvival until natural gas pipelines were established. Itwas one of the most energy efficient Fertilizer plants in India. 90% of the employees were eitherlocalorfromKarnatakastate.
The Erasure and the Birth of a Movement
In 2024, following a merger into Paradeep Phosphates Ltd(PPL), the MCF name was erased from the main signage overnight. This felt like an affront to five decades of industrial heritage. The newsof the namechangesparked adeep sense
of loss. MCF wasn't just private property; itwasbuilt onpublicland andfundedbypublicinvestment.
Returning from Toronto, Canadato Mangaluru in November 2025, I joinedformer colleaguesShivarama Shetty, Dayananda Shetty, and Jayarama Shetty to raise a voice of protest. Later Mr Rajanna, Mr Mohammed Ali, Mr Devadas & others worked tirelessly until the objective was achieved. We were seniors, aged 60 to 75, taking on a powerfulcorporate entitytoprotect our heritage. We formed the ‘MCF Hesaru Ulisi Abhiyana Samiti’ (Committee to Save the MCF Name).
Mobilizing the "Senior Brigade"
What began as a ripple of dissent grew like a tidal wave into a WhatsAppgroup ofover 500highly motivated ex-employees. We launched a multi-pronged campaign focusing on sentiment, pooling funds, and organizing meetings across the city. An online petition campaign also started in tandemwithgroundactivitytodraw nationwide support.
Media Milestone and Political Support
The Hesaru Ulisi Committee’s campaign gained significant momentum attheMangaluru Press Club. The cause was amplified by major publications, including The Hindu, Indian Express, TOI, Prajavani,Vijayavani,Daijiworld and hostofothervisualanddigitalnews networks which reported on the community's deep connection to thebrand.
The committee sought support from elected representatives and
otherorganisations. Though they promised to support, action was lacking the momentum required. Committee needed a leader who didn’t have to look over his shoulders and who had no qualms about calling a spade a spade. Mr Ivan Dsouza,Member of Karnataka Legislative Council (MLC), who was at one time a Student Leader, founder of many employees’ unions, and a true Union Leader in Mangalore and throughout Dakshina Kannada was the man of the hour. With the support of Mr. Ivan D’Souza, MLC, the committee,
held a press conference where nearly 100 ex-employees stood in solidarity. Mr. DSouza served an ultimatum to the PPLmanagement to restore the name or risk facing public protest. Mr Ivan Dsouza provided a paradigm shift to the movement with his straightforward talkandspeedy actions.
The Turning Pointand Victory
Facingthethreatofapublicprotest march, the new management blinked. Within two days, they agreed to restore the name on the board, prefixed with "Erstwhile." MangaloreChemicalsandFertilizers Ltd,” ಹಿಂದಿನ
ನಿಯಮಿತ and implemented the same albeit in smaller letters. The victory was further solidified when the management "woke up" to the realityofthebrand'spower, putting up banners at the main gate displaying the iconicMCF logo and thebeloved MANGALAbrand.
Legacy Reclaimed
Today, ex-employees can say with pride that they saved a symbol of their city’s history. The "Erstwhile MCF" signage stands asareminder
that corporate mergers cannot delist human history. Former employees may be inthe sunset of their lives, but they have ensured thatthe nameof thecompany that shaped their lives would not be consigned tothedustbin.

HUMAN LIFE IS SACRED: A NOTE ON EUTHANASIA
The recent Supreme Court Judgment in the case of Harish Rana, a comatose or persistent vegetative state (PVS) patient for over13years,permitting hisparents to withdraw all life support, has triggered the Euthanasia debate once again. On 9th March 2018 a five-judge Constitution Bench of SupremeCourthadlegalizedpassive euthanasia while maintaining that active Euthanasia is still illegal in India.
The present case of Harish Rana, wheretheApexCourthaspermitted withdrawal of all life support, is considered by many as passive euthanasia. Is what the court has done morally or ethically correct? Supreme Court has asked the parents of Harish Ranato take him to the Palliative Care Unit of AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), Delhi and get the withdrawal oflifesupport done ina humaneway.AsfarasIunderstand Harishisnotonaventilator, norany mechanicalsupport, exceptperhaps on artificial nutrition and hydration by Ryles tubes and catheter for clearingthebladder.Fortheparents and family who have cared for him for about 13 years in this stage all that seems to be burdensome and futile as Harish’s condition is irreversible.
Artificial nutrition and hydration by Rylestubes in myopinion isnot an extraordinary means of support in the present-day medical advance, even though it requires trained people tohandleit. Therealethicalquestion thatneeds to be answered is: Is withdrawal of nutrition and hydration in Harish Rana’s case and other similar cases passiveEuthanasiaorisitmorallyor ethically permitted to withdraw life support, including nutrition and
hydration in some cases? What is ethically permitted and what is obligatory insuchcases?
The Catholic Church’s teaching on Euthanasia can help us in understanding the meaning of Euthanasia and our moral obligations in caring for terminally ill patients or those in coma or persistent vegetative state(PVS).
The Vatican Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in its Declaration on Euthanasia defines Euthanasia as “an action or an omission which of itself or by intentioncausesdeath, inorderthat all suffering may in this way be eliminated.”
Active and passive euthanasia
By activeeuthanasiais understood the voluntary commission of alifeterminating action. It designates
someone’s doing something to the patient with the intention of shortening life. It refers, therefore, toanyprocedure thathasasanend the shortening of apatient’s life. In other words, it is the direct and deliberatekillingofanotherwiththe intention of putting an end to the pain and suffering of that other. Active euthanasia is the same as positive anddirect euthanasia. Passiveeuthanasiameans allowing oneself or another person who is terminally illtodiewhenthereisno hope that the person will recover. While active euthanasia is killing, passive euthanasia is letting die. Thus, passive euthanasia involves removing or withholding of lifesupporting means, such as antibiotics, transfusions, respirators, dialysis and so on, because no reasonable hope of recovery exists for the dying person. Therefore, while in active euthanasia one causes something to happen when it can and should be prevented, in passive euthanasia, one allows something tohappen whenthereis nowaytoprevent it.Andthesetwo actions are distinct ethically. We should also note here that some
authors equate passive euthanasia withnegative euthanasiaandmean by it a voluntary omission of an ethically obligatory life-preserving action.
The afore mentioned Vatican document states firmly that “nothing andnoone caninanyway permit the killing of an innocent human being, whether a foetus or anembryo, aninfantoranadult,an oldperson, oronesufferingfroman incurable disease, or a person who is dying. Furthermore, no one is permitted to ask for the act of killing, either for himself or herself or for another person entrusted to his or her care, nor can he or she consent to it, either explicitly or implicitly. Nor can any authority legitimately recommend or permit suchanaction.Foritisaquestionof
violation of the divine law, an offence against the dignity of the human person, acrime against life, andanattack onhumanity.”
Sometimes it may happen that those who are gravely ill and suffering unbearable pain may ask for death. Or their relations or care givers may want to end their suffering by asking the doctors to putthepatienttosleepbyadoseof lethal injection or withdrawal of all life support and treatment. Such requests can never be legitimate. The above-mentioned Declaration advises usthat“the pleasof gravely ill people who sometimes ask for death are not to be understood as implying a true desire for euthanasia; in fact, it is almost always acaseofan anguished plea for help and love. What a sick person needs, besidesmedicalcare, islove, thehumanandsupernatural warmth byallthose closetohimor her, parents, and children, doctors andnurses.”
in all circumstances to have recourse toallpossible remedies?
Themoralobligation topreservelife is not absolute. That it is not necessary in all circumstances to have recourse to all possible remedies ormeans.
Moralists tell us that one is never obliged to use ‘extraordinary’ or ‘disproportionate’ means. However, it is not always easy to make a correct judgement as to what constitutes ordinary/proportionate means and what are extraordinary/disproportionate means.
Ordinary/proportionate and extraordinary/disproportionate means
Gerald Kelly, a Catholic expert on medico-moral matters and one of the leading moralists in his now classic interpretation of this distinction, defined the terms as follows:
Ordinary means of preserving life are all medicines, treatments and operations, whichofferareasonable hope ofbenefitforthepatient, and which can be obtained and used without excessiveexpense, pain,or
otherinconvenience.
Extraordinary means of preserving life are all medicines, treatments, and operations, which cannot be obtained or used without excessive expense, pain or other inconvenience, or which if used, would not offer a reasonable hope ofbenefit.
Acorrect judgmentastothemeans can possibly be made, as the Declaration suggests, “by studying thetypeoftreatmenttobeused, its degree of complexity or risks, its costandthepossibilities ofusingit, andcomparing theseelementswith the result that can be expected, taking into accountthestate ofthe sick person and his or her physical andmoral resources.”
The rapid progress in medical science and technology has made these decisions even more complicated. For what was extraordinary some years ago seems to be ordinary treatment todayandwhatisordinary forarich person may seem extraordinary for a poor person. Similarly, what is ordinary in a city may be extraordinary in a rural set up. A
decision must be taken by the sick person (if conscious) or by relatives/doctors considering variousfactorsmentioned above.
But the general principle holds good thatoneisnotobliged touse extraordinary/disproportionate means to save or preserve life. However, all ordinary means of treatment including nutrition and hydration must be used. Furthermore, human life in all its

She promised to investigate the conspiracies behind the violence, intending to spare nobody. She promised that she wouldremaininpowerfornotmore thansixmonths.

PR system aims to align vote percentage with seat distribution. This FPTP and PR system is inaccordance with article 84oftheConstitution ofNepal. Rastriya Swatantra Party secured 182 seats,thesecond-best showing in Nepal's electoral history, only surpassed by the1959 elections. Progressive Liberalism of Rastriya Swatantra Party:
The progressive liberalism, also known as social liberalism, is apolitical philosophy endorses social justice, social services, amixed economy, andtheexpansionofcivil and political rights. It is committed to personal freedoms but also placesgreater emphasisontherole of government in addressing social inequalities and ensuring public welfare.
Social liberal governments address economic and social issues such aspoverty, welfare, infrastructure, h ealthcare, andeducationusing government intervention, while emphasising individual rights and autonomy.
Economically, social liberalism is based on thesocial market economy and views thecommon
good as harmonious with the individual's freedom. Ideologies that emphasize its economic policy includewelfareliberalismcombined withKeynesianeconomics. Sounds familiar? Doesn’t it remind us of Nehruvian Socialism which, thesedaysinourcountry, bearsthe brunt of the so-called Modinomics inIndia?
The social liberalism is associated withprogressivism, a left-liberalism (of UPA kind) contrasted to the right-leaning neoliberalism (ofNDA kind).
KeyLessons fromNepal forModi:
1. Listen to Gen Z and social media: Nepal’s political developments underscore that social media is a critical and unfiltered voice of the people. A sweeping banorignorance ofthese voices only fuels, rather than suppresses, unrest, serving as a warning against authoritarian tendencies.
2. Action instead of Rhetoric in Diplomacy: While emphasizing "brotherly" relations, India mustact to resolve territorial disputes to build true trust and prevent anti-
India sentiment in the neighbourhood.
3. Avoid OverIntervention: Historically, the perception ofIndian interference in the internal politics of our neighbours has caused backlash. Indiamustadopt apolicy of"doing moreandspeaking less"tomanage its security interests without appearing overly domineering.
4. BalancewithChina:Ourneighbours increase their economic ties with and reliance on China. We must maintain its influence through consistent, development-focused cooperation rather thanreactionary foreignpolicy.
5. RespectPoliticalSovereignty: India
6. should respect the democratic choices of our neighbours. We had issues with Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, andNepalintherecent past under “Modi’s big brother
7. diplomacy”.
8. Domestically, allow democracy to function unfettered. Constant criticism of opposition parties in perennial rallies by the ruling BJP and virulent speeches by Modi himself need moderation.
Draconian Law!
- *FrCedric Prakash SJ
FormanyinIndia, andparticularlyin Gujarat, 26 March will always be remembered as a ‘black day!’ On thatdayin2003, inkeeping withan election promise, Narendra Modi, the then Chief Minister of Gujarat introduced, the draconian ‘Gujarat
Freedom of Religion Act’. Earlier that morning, Haren Pandya, a former Home Minister of Gujarat and Modi’s bêtenoire , was found assassinated in mysterious circumstances. Till today, the truth of Pandya’s death (who killedhim andwhy?)hasnotyetbeenofficially revealed. Pandya’s father, the late Vitthalbhai Pandya (who died in January 2011) was quite convinced ofwho wasbehind thekilling ofhis sonandhewentfrom pillar topost (right up to the Supreme Court) hoping thatthefull truth of Haren’s murder would be revealed. Several non-partisan political analysts have alsowrittenvolumesonthismurder.
Atwo –partBBC Documentary ‘The Modi Question’ which was released in January 2023 (but banned in India), highlights the murder of Pandyaandwhyhewasastumbling block to Modi’s ascendancy to power!
As for the ‘Gujarat Freedom of Religion Act,2003’, itiseasilyoneof the most draconian ones in the history of any democracy in the world. Modipiloted thisbill!During his election campaign in 2002, he ranted and raved against the Muslims and Christians and promised to bring in an anticonversion law.Truetohispromise, hedidsoafewmonthslater.Atthat time, theentire Opposition, intotal disagreement with the bill, walked outoftheGujaratAssembly! Itthen took afullfiveyears, until2008, for the Gujarat Government to frame the necessary rules for the implementation ofthatlaw!
In February 2006, in keeping with letter and spirit of his antiConstitutional law, at a Shabri Kumbh (a mass gathering of Hindus) programme in the Dangs (supported by the Gujarat
Government), Modi warned the Christians “Itismyconstitutional dutytoprevent conversions. Our Constitutiondisapproves ofthem, andyetsomepeopleturnablind eye.”Morari Bapu accused the Christians ofbringing inplaneloads of missionaries from the Vatican “who come here to carry out conversionactivities, butwhenwe organisea‘gharwapsi’whyshould itbetermedasbad?” Both Modi andMorariBapu, unequivocallyalso endorsed the ‘ghar wapsi’ programmes, which were part of that Kumbh! In 2009, the ‘Gujarat United Christian Forum for Human Rights’ and several other eminent citizens challenged the constitutional validity oftheGujarat Freedom of Religion Law, in the Gujarat High Court. A notice was sent by the Court to the Government to respond, they did not do so (obviously, they could not). The petitioners later withdrew their petition with an intention of making it stronger. In August2021,theGujaratHighCourt did not allow the Gujarat Government to make amendments to the already draconian law.
The bogey of ‘forced’ conversion and the introduction of anti –conversion laws (strangely called ‘Freedom of Religion’) are part of a well-oiled strategy of the ‘Sangh Parivar’. These laws are blatantly unconstitutional. The States of Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat,Haryana,HimachalPradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh alreadyhavetheselawsinplace. On 5 March, Maharashtra became the 13th State to do so, when the Government of Maharashtra approved a draft anti-conversion bill requiring prior permission from adesignated authority for religious conversion. Called the ‘Dharma Swatantrya Adhiniyam 2026 (Religious Freedom Act, 2026), the proposed law specifically aims to prevent individualsororganizations fromcarryingoutforcedorunlawful religious conversions. It seeks to protect individuals’ freedom of religion by prohibiting coercive or deceptive practices and imposing stringent penaltiesforviolations.
On11March,ledbythePeoples
Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL), Citizens for Justice and Peace(CJP) and the Bombay Catholic Sabha (BCS), more than thirty civil society and human rights organisations held a well-attended media conference at the Press Club in Mumbai.AttheConference, several well-known citizens lambasted the Maharashtra Government for introducing this draconian legislationandwithoutdueprocess. In a detailed statement the signatories said, “the text of the draftlawhasnotyetbeenmade public, raising serious concerns about transparency, democratic process, and the potential implications ofthelegislation for fundamental rights. The participating civil society organisations emphasise that legislation with far-reaching implicationsforreligiousfreedom, privacy, andpersonallibertycannot bedraftedandintroducedwithout public consultation, scrutiny, and debate.Agrowingpatternofanticonversion laws framed around “love jihad” The proposed Maharashtralawappearstofollow the pattern of anti-conversion
legislation already enacted in severalstatesunderthebannerof “freedom of religion” laws. While framed as measures to prevent coercion or fraudulent religious conversions, these statutes have frequentlybeenjustifiedpolitically through the narrative of “love jihad” aconspiracytheoryalleging thatMuslimmensystematicallylure Hindu women into marriage to convert them. This claim has no legalbasis.”
Further, the statement said, “The Maharashtraproposalalsocomesat a time when the constitutional validity of similar anticonversion lawsacrossseveralstatesisalready under challenge before the SupremeCourtofIndia.Abatchof writpetitions –firstfiledbyCitizens forJusticeandPeace(CJP),Mumbai thatistheleadpetitioner inthe SupremeCourt hasbeenpending before the Supreme Court since 2020, raising fundamental constitutionalquestionsaboutthe scope of freedom of conscience, personalliberty, equalitybeforethe law, andthelimitsofStatepowerin regulatingreligiousconversionand

The ‘bogey’ of forced conversion is once again being made into an issue! There is absolutely no evidence to substantiate this frivolous claim. It is a manipulative ploy, used by the Sanghis to defocus from the real issues, which grip thenation.Indiahas proved to have a spineless Government, literallybeingheldtoransombythe United States. We have lost our long-cherished identity as a nonaligned nation. Theordinary citizen issufferingduetoaterrible scarcity of LPG (Smriti Irani seems to have done thedisappearing trick instead of protesting!). The Epstein files have revealed names of some prominent Indians- a great shame to the nation. The Election Commission has proved to be a ‘caged parrot’ of the ruling regime! Corruption is the DNA of a Government, which has abdicated
its responsibility to govern. Prices are skyrocketing, even as the poor become poorer and the crony capitalists’ friends of the regime continue to amass scandalous amounts of wealth. The common personisdeniedthelegitimateright of‘roti-kapda-makaan’andAdivasis of ‘jal-jungle-jameen’. Thecountry is inthe doldrums asnever before! Besides, the ‘hindutvadis’ are a frightened group: they are aware that their so -called brand of ‘religiosity’ goes against human nature: the rights and freedoms, which are inalienable to every citizen. Therefore, the ‘forced conversion’ gimmick isaconvenient way to change the narrative and deflect from burning issues, which literally throttlethecountrytoday!
On 14 November 2022, the twojudge bench of the Supreme Court consisting of JusticeM.R.Shah and Justice Hima Kohli observed that forced conversions may “ultimately affectthesecurity ofnation and freedomofreligionandconscience ofcitizen.”The bench directed the Central Government to inform the Apex Court what steps it intends
taking to curb deceitful or compulsory religious conversions. The bench was hearing a PIL by Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay, who has been filing several petitions of this kind inthepast. Upadhyay wantsa law against fraudulent religious conversionandreligious conversion by intimidation, threatening, deceivingly luring through giftsand monetary benefits, as it offends Articles14,21,and25.
Significantly, in April 2021, a threejudge bench of Justices Rohinton F Nariman, B.R. Gavai and Hrishikesh Royhaddismissed asimilarpetition by the Upadhyay himself and had even threatened to impose heavy costs if he persisted with the petition.Thebenchatthattimehad opined that any religious conversionlawwouldbeviolativeof the constitution as the constitution clearlyallowsjoining ofanyreligion of one’s choice and that is why the word “propagate” is in the Constitution. The bench termed “very harmful” the petition that asked a strict central law to check religious conversion and observed that adults are free to choose their
faith. The bench also cautioned senior advocate Gopal Sankaranarayan, who represented Upadhyay inthematter, “Whatkind ofapetitionisthis?Thisisavery harmfulpetition.Ifyouaregoingto arguethis, wearegoingtoimpose aheavycostonyou”,saidNariman; headded,“Thereisareasonwhythe word ‘propagate’ is there in the Constitution.Youmusthavesome meaningforthatword.Thereisno reason why somebody above 18 cannotchooseone’sownreligionor somebody else’s religion,” The petition was immediately withdrawn!
The point therefore is not whether one has the right ‘to convert another’; but whether a citizen of India, has the right to choose a religion ofone’schoice.Article25of the Constitution of India unequivocally “guarantees the freedomofconscience, thefreedom toprofess, practiceandpropagate religion to all citizens”. Besides, Article 18 of theUniversal Declaration of Human Rights, asserts that“Everyonehastheright tofreedomofthought, conscience
and religion; this right includes freedomtochangehisreligionor belief, andfreedom, eitheraloneor incommunity withothersandin publicorprivate, tomanifesthis religion or belief in teaching, practice, worshipandobservance”.
Asearlyas1935,Dr.B.R. Ambedkar made the most daring and pathbreaking speech of his career, announcing that, because of the intransigence oftheHindusandthe failure of a decade of nonviolent protests, he had decided to abandon Hinduism and to seek another faith. He urged the leaders at the Yeola Depressed Classes conference to consider their religious identityachoice, notafact of destiny. In a highly emotional voice he said, “Ifyouwanttogain self-respect,changeyourreligion.If youwanttocreateacooperating society, changeyourreligion.Ifyou wantpower, changeyourreligion. If you want equality, change your religion.Ifyouwantindependence,
changeyourreligion.Ifyouwantto maketheworldinwhichyoulive happy, changeyourreligion”.About twenty years later, on 14 October 1956(apparently the date on which King Ashoka became a Buddhist) Ambedkar together with his wife andatleast365,000 ofhisfollowers, mainly Dalits, decided to exit Hinduism andembraceBuddhism.
IsthenanadultcitizenofIndiafree to choose the religion of one’s choice? The Supreme Court must act with alacrity, maintaining the unconstitutionality of these draconian laws and strike them downintotoonceandforall!Willit have the courage to take on the ‘hindutva’ brigade? That perhaps is anothermatter!

Does that seem like an accident to you
That wo precedes man, to create women
For man without a companion was nothing
Everything he lacked was refined in her
Wo-man let him deny it till he's blue in the face
Man without his woman is just another beast
She is the one who bends till her back breaks
To accommodate his whimsical tantrums and quirks
Does that seem like an accident to you
That a man without his woman is aimless
For man is without doubt, the prototype
To compliment his flaws, a woman was born
Wo-man you can turn this into your dirty jokes

Throughout his talk, Harold also emphasized the importance of the 30 Articles of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, reminding students that these principles form the foundation of human dignity and global justice.
“Human Rights should be taught to every child like ABCD,” Harold explained, encouraging students to become ambassadors ofawareness andcompassion.
The session evolved into an engaging dialogue as students eagerly asked thoughtful and heartfelt questions. One student asked how young people can overcome depression and hopelessness. Another asked whether trust still exists in a world filled with deception. Others were curious about how Harold maintained such a positive outlook after experiencing unimaginable hardship.
The conversation continued with enthusiasm and sincerity, demonstrating the curiosity and commitment ofyoung minds eager tolearnfromreal-lifeexperiences.
Harold encouraged students to flip the script of their lives, turning obstacles into opportunities and challenges into stepping stones for growth.

Trump: Iran WarFirst, Then Cuba –"JustaQuestionofTime"BeforeUS Turns Focus to Havana
President DonaldTrump signalleda sweeping foreign policy roadmap during a White House event on March 8, 2026, declaring that his administration intends to conclude the ongoing Operation Epic Fury against Iran before pivoting to confront the Cuban government.
“We’re going to finish this thing with Iran big, beautiful victory then Cuba is just a question of time,” Trump stated, framing the sequence as deliberate and inevitable.
The remarks underscore Washington's prioritization amid the Middle East's escalating toll: over 1,700 Iranian targets struck, naval losses mounting (including theIRISDenasunknearSriLanka),a $300 million THAAD radar destroyed in Jordan, and the USS Abraham Lincoln damaged. With interceptor stockpiles strained, Hormuz traffic collapsed 85–90%, Qatar's LNG halted, and Russia
reportedly sharing U.S. asset locations with Tehran, Trump emphasized resolving the "Iran problem" firsttofreeresources and political capital.
Trump praised Secretary of State MarcoRubio'srole inshapingCuba policy, highlighting intensified sanctions, tightened travel restrictions, and economic pressure aimed atisolating Havana.Analysts interpret the statement aspart ofa broader "America First" vision: neutralize immediate threats (Iran's nuclear breakout potential, proxies, missile capabilities) before addressing long-standing adversaries in the Western Hemisphere. Cuba—long viewedby hardliners as a source of regional instability, migration flows, and ties to Russia, China, and Venezuela fits this emerging hierarchy.
The pivot talk arrives as domestic constraints bite: Congress blocks new Iran strikes, NATO stays out, and energy chaos (global prices surging, India buying discounted Russian oil) tests endurance. Iran's vows of "years of war" and threats

Yet experts caution that declaring victory prematurely risks leaving a "wounded beast" in Tehran, while shifting focus to Cuba could overstretch an already fatigued coalition.Asdiplomaticthawsflicker (Tehran thanking Saudi neutrality) and global powers maneuver, Trump's Cuba comment reveals a grandstrategy: windecisivelyinthe Middle East, then project power closer to home reshaping U.S. geopolitical posture for years to come.
THE GREAT REALIGNMENT: How the War in Iran is Redrawing the Global Map
The recent intensity in the British Parliament, where the opposition hasfiercelyslammedPrimeMinister Keir Starmer forfailingto grasp the urgency of the conflict, is a microcosm ofamuch larger global shift.Thiswarisnolongeraregional skirmish; it is a catalyst for a total transformation of international order. As the smoke clears from
American and Israeli strikes, it is becoming obvious that the geopolitical landscape of the last severaldecadesisbeingdismantled in real-time.
A primary driver of this change is the radical evolution of USEuropean diplomatic relations. Under the Trump administration’s "America First" doctrine, the traditional transatlantic alliance is being stress-tested and restructured based on loyalty and strategicalignment.Weareseeinga move toward cutting ties with nations like Spain that have wavered, while strengthening bonds with more resolute partners like Germany. This "selective diplomacy" ensures that American interests remain the top priority, forcing European nations to decide whethertheystandwiththeworld's only superpower or with its adversaries.
The ripples of this conflict are also permanently altering the relationship between Gulf Arab nations and Europe. The regional powers in the Middle East are unlikely to forget or forgive Spain’s perceived betrayal and its support for the Islamic Republic during this crisis. Furthermore, these nations are likely to exercise extreme cautionintheir futuredealings with China, recognizing the instability thatcomeswithrelying onBeijing's "worthless" alliances. This pivot toward a more American-centric security and economic framework marks the end of the multi-polar fantasy that previously defined the region.
Perhaps the most significant longterm shiftis occurring intheglobal energymarket.Forthefirsttime, the United Statesand severalAmerican companies are aggressively entering the oil tanker insurance industry a sector thathasbeenan exclusive European and British monopoly for generations. By seizingcontroloftheinsuranceand protection of the world’s energy
transit, the U.S. is not just securing oil;itisfundamentally rewriting the rules of global trade. This move effectively places the pulse of the global economy directly into American hands, further solidifying the dominance of the petrodollar.
This war is forcing a domestic and international "moment oftruth." As the world changes in the coming months, theseshiftspoint toward a future that heavily favors American dominance and the strategic vision of the Republican Party. The move comes as Iran continues to rely heavily on drone attacks, following recent escalations including U.S.and allied operations in the region. The comparison between the Iran Air Force and the Israel Air Force shows two very different approaches to modern military aviation and national defense strategy. One side focuses on maintainingalargerfleetofaircraft, while the other emphasizes advanced aviation technology, innovation, and highly trained
pilots.Thiscontrastmakesthetopic a major discussion point in global defense analysis, aviation technology, and geopolitical studies.
According to the data presented, Iran operates around 627 aircraft, giving it the advantage in overall fleet size. However, many of these aircraft belong to older generation fighter platforms that were originally designed decades ago.
Among the well-known aircraft in Iran’sinventory are the MiG-29 and theF-4Phantom,whichwerewidely used during earlier periods of aviation development. Despite the age of some aircraft,
Iran’s air force remains significant due to its large inventory and strategic defense systems. The country has focused on strengthening its regional security capabilitiesandlong-range defense systems, which play an important role in its overall national defense planning. Maintaining asizeable air fleet also allows Iran to support a wide range of air patrol, defense monitoring, and operational readiness activities.
In comparison, Israel operates approximately 532 aircraft, slightly fewerthanIran. However, Israel’sair force is widely recognized for its cutting-edge aviation technology and modern fighter aircraft. Oneof the most notable aircraft in Israel’s fleetistheF-35I “Adir,”aspecialized version of the F-35 stealth fighter. This aircraft represents one of the mostadvancedplatformsinmodern aviation, featuring stealth design, advanced sensors, and sophisticated digital systems that enhance situational awareness for pilots. Israel also operates the F-15I
“Ra’am,” a powerful multirole fighter capable of extended-range operations and advanced aerial performance. These aircraft are supported by highly developed training programs, integrated intelligence systems, and modern defense infrastructure, which together contribute to Israel’s strong reputation in air power and aviation innovation.
The main difference between the two air forces lies in their overall approach todefensecapability.Iran maintains alarger fleet, while Israel focuses heavily on technological advancement and operational efficiency. In today’s rapidly evolving aviation environment, manydefenseexpertshighlight that modern technology, advanced aircraft systems, and highly skilled pilots often play a crucial role in determining overall air capability.
Because of these factors, Israel is frequently viewed as having a technology advantage in modern air operations, especially with the inclusion of stealth fighter aircraft and advanced aviation systems.
Ultimately, thecomparisonbetween Iran and Israel demonstrates how numbers and technology represent two different strategic approaches to national defense, making this topic an important case study in global aviation development, defense innovation, and regional security analysis. #MilitaryAviation

Iran Sent 200 Drones at a U.S. Aircraft Carrier The Response Was Ruthless
Inanunexpected turn ofeventsoff the coast of the Arabian Sea, a perfectly executed Iranian missile strike aimed atthe U.S. Navy's USS AbrahamLincolnwasintercepted in ajaw-dropping display ofAmerican
military genius. The strike group, caught off-guard by a wellcoordinated Iranian attack, found themselves completely vulnerable until a covert U.S. aircraft, operating insilence, turned the tide in a blink. 12 anti-ship missiles locked onto their targets, but what happened next? In the blink of an eye, those missiles veered off course, turning back on the Iranian boats that launched them. Is this the world's most sophisticated militarytechnology at work or pure American luck? The America First movement continues to demonstrate significant resilience as supporters of President Donald Trump report that their backing has intensified followingyearsofsustainedpolitical and media opposition. This core constituencyviewshisleadership as a necessary disruption of the established political order, specifically citing his focus on restoring national sovereignty and strengthening border security as foundational achievements. For these voters, the Trump presidency represented adefinitiveshifttoward a nationalist framework where American interests are the primary filter for all domestic and foreign policy decisions, creating a deepseated senseofloyalty thatpersists through ongoing legalandpolitical challenges.
Advocates of this movement frequently point to the administration's willingness to challenge longstanding Washington conventions as a primary reason for their continued support.Theyarguethathisspecific approach to economic
nationalism prioritizing the American worker over globalized trade interests and his rigorous immigration enforcement resonated with ademographic that felt systematically ignored by traditional bipartisan leadership. This segment of the electorate perceives his actions not merely as policy shifts, but as a commitment to protecting the physical and economic borders of the nation while projecting a posture of strength ininternational relations.
Asthepoliticallandscapeevolvesin 2026, the momentum behind the America First platform remains a central force in the national discourse. Supporters remain focused on the long-term goal of Confronting hostile foreign entities and reducing international dependencies that they believe have weakened the United States over previous decades. Farmland and National Security: Trump Pushes to Block Chinese
Land Purchases in the U.S.
restrict Chinese entities from purchasing farmland in the United States, presenting theissueasboth an economic and national security concern. Supporters argue that agricultural land represents more than just a financial asset it is a strategic resource tied to food production, supply chains, and the long-term stability of rural communities. Concerns have intensifiedinrecentyearsasforeign investments, particularly from companies linked to geopolitical competitors such as China, have increased across parts of rural America.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has renewed his call to
Security analysts and lawmakers have also raised alarms about foreign-owned land located near sensitive sites, including military bases and critical infrastructure. These concerns have fueled bipartisan discussions within the United StatesCongress and among state governments about whether stronger safeguards are necessary. In response, several states have already introduced or passed laws aimedatlimiting landpurchasesby foreign adversaries when national
security risks may be involved.
Supporters of tighter restrictions argue that farmland should remain primarily in the hands of American farmers and domestic investors. They say maintaining national control overagricultural production helps protect the country’s food supply while supporting local economiesandstrengthening longtermresilience.Fromthisviewpoint, restrictingforeignownership isseen as a preventive measure designed to protect vital resources for future generations.
Critics, however, caution that sweeping restrictions on foreign investment could complicate international trade relationships and discourage legitimate economic partnerships. They argue that policymakers must carefully distinguish between routine global investment and genuine security threats. As geopolitical tensions continue to influence economic policy, the debate over farmland ownership highlights the broader challenge of balancing national security with an open investment environment.
Romania Grants U.S. Accessto Key NATO Base for Middle East Operations
Romania has approved a U.S. request fortemporary useofMihail Kogălniceanu Air Base, Europe's largest NATO facility on the Black Sea coast. The Supreme Council of National Defense gave the green light, allowing American refueling aircraft, fighter jet deployments,
surveillance gear, and up to 500 personnel to support ongoing operations in the Middle East, including against Iran.
President Nicusor Dan described the move as strictly defensive, with no munitions storage involved. Parliamentbackedthedecisionwith a strong majority vote despite opposition from far-right parties. The base, already home to around 1,000 U.S. troops, provides critical logistics close to conflict zones while enhancing NATO's eastern flank posture. This step reinforces strong U.S.Romanian alliance ties and ensures reliable forward support for Americanforcesfacingthreatsfrom Tehran, even as risks of escalation remain real near Russia's sphere of influence.

Prices spiked hard at first, butmarkets arestarting tosee through the bluff.Trump hasmade clear: any further Iranian interference means they get hit twenty times harder, with "death, fire, andfury"iftheytouchtheflow.
The U.S. and Israel have degraded Iran's navy and missile stocks in days, not weeks. Shipping disruptions hurtIrananditsalliesfar more than the West. Tehran's threats look more like panic than strategy as the conflict grinds on and their capabilities erode fast.
America won't be blackmailed into retreat. Strong leadership is ending this threat to global security and energy markets will stabilize once themullahs'gripisbrokenforgood.
Jesse Watters Nails It: Seize Kharg Island and End Iran'sCash Flow for Good Fox News host Jesse Watters cut straight to the heart of the matter on Operation Epic Fury. Iran's regime survives on one key asset: Kharg Island, the offshore terminal thathandles90percent ofitscrude

Nomore Iranianoil flooding China and Russia while fundingattacksonAmericaandour allies. Checkmate the petrodictatorship, secure the Strait of Hormuz, andlettheregimecollapse under its own weight.
Something strange is happening in the Strait of Hormuz… and the markets may have just forced a change in the war.
For thepastfewdaystheworld has been watching the same pressure point: the narrow stretch of water between Iran and the Gulf where roughly a fifth of the world’s oil supply passes every day.
Atone point oil spiked above $100 abarrelastanker trafficslowed and markets began pricing in the possibility of a serious disruption. Fertilisershipments, globalshipping routes and energy supplies all run through that same corridor. If
Hormuz shuts, the global economy feels it almost immediately.
Then something changed.
Ships started moving again.
Reports began circulating that tankers were transiting the Strait. Talkofnavalprotectionforshipping appeared. At the same time, markets began to calm and oil prices pulled back sharply.
So the obvious question is this:
What actually caused the shift?
Was it military pressure?
Diplomacy behind the scenes?
Or something much simpler the financial markets forcing everyone to think twice?
Modern wars don’t just happen on battlefields anymore. They play out in energy markets, shipping insurance, supply chains and stock exchanges. When oil spikes and tradestartfreezingup, thepressure
isn’t just political it’s economic.
Andeconomicshasawayofforcing decisions very quickly.
At the same time, the political messaging coming out of Washington has been interesting. Onemoment thewarappearsclose to ending. The next moment the language becomes much tougher again.
Which raises another question.
Isthis conflictactually being driven by military strategy… or by the economic consequences of it?
Because if the Strait of Hormuz really had closed for weeks rather than days, the impact wouldn’t just have been felt in Tehran or Washington.
Itwould havebeenfelteverywhere.
Energy prices. Food production. Global trade.
The entire system. Sowhentankertrafficstartsmoving
again and oil prices suddenly fall, you have to ask:
Was this a military victory… or the moment the markets reminded everyone how fragile the global economy really is?
As always in geopolitics, the real story often sits just beneath the headlines.

BREAKING: Congressman Jim Jordan has introduced a bold constitutional amendment
requiring that all members of Congress benatural-born American citizens no more foreign-born individuals holding seats in the House or Senate.
This isn’t about race, religion, or ethnicity—it’s about undivided loyalty to the United States from birth. Jordan’s bill addresses a glaring vulnerability: allowing naturalized citizens—some with dual allegiances, foreign ties, or sympathies for anti-American causes to make laws for a nation they weren’t born into and didn’t grow up pledging allegiance to.
We’ve seen the results too clearly:
• Ilhan Omar (Somalia-born) repeatedly attacks America, sympathizes with its enemies, and pushes policies that weaken our sovereignty
•Otherswithforeign roots prioritize international interests, defend foreign regimes, or import ideologies that clash with the Constitution
• Divided loyalties createrisks when lawmakers handle classified briefings, foreign policy, immigration, and national security
The Founders understood this: the President must be natural-born for exactly these reasons. Jordan is extending that same ironclad principle to Congress where laws are made, budgets approved, and wars declared. If you want to legislate for America,be born here, raised under our flag, educated in our system, and have your sole allegiance to this country from day one.
This amendment would:
• Require natural-born U.S. citizenshipforallHouseandSenate members
• Phase out current foreign-born
members over time (no immediate expulsion)
• Restore confidence that every lawmaker puts America first— always
•Endtheeraofimported politicians whotreatCongressasaplatformfor foreign causes JimJordan isdoing what too many inWashington won’t: protecting the integrity of the institution and the nationitself.Nomore loopholes for divided loyalties in the People’s House.

U.S. B-2 bombers strike Iranian missile bunkers Then THIS Happened...!
Veterans andobservers note theB52's enduring lethality despite its
The B-2 Stealth Bomber led a precision night strike against underground missile bases hidden
inside the mountains. Flying at 42,000 feet, each B-2 Stealth Bomber released bunker-buster bombs that collapsed tunnels and sealed launch shafts. As Iranian fighters scrambled, escorts protected the bombers while another B-2 Stealth Bomber struck deeper targets near Isfahan. Electronic warfare blinded radars, allowing the B-2 Stealth Bomber formation to continuewest unseen. In less than 40 minutes, the B-2 Stealth Bomber strike disabled multiple missile complexes and changed the battlefield before dawn.
Donald Trump announced that the United States carried out a major bombing raid targeting Iran’sKharg Island, describing it as one of the mostpowerful airstrikesconducted in the region. According to the statement, U.S. Central Command targetedanddestroyed whatTrump describedaseverymilitaryobjective on the island. Kharg Island is one of Iran’s most important strategic locations. Longest Tunnels of Iran in Flames! 250,000 Iranian Troops STUCK Helplessly!........."
Iran's longest tunnel networks and largest underground missile arsenals were destroyed inseconds by the brutal brute force of American B-52 bombers. Massive 30,000lb bunker buster bombs sealed off all entrances and exits inside the mountains in seconds. Those massive tunnels hundreds of meters below ground are now burning fiercely.
Thousands of elite Iranian soldiers and tens of thousands of tons of missile ammunition are gone. They have nowhere to run. They cannot fire a missile, receive reinforcements, or communicate withtheoutsideworld.Theregime's most powerful weapon, the famous missile cities, has become the greatest death trap in modern military history.
The epic fury operation which began on February 28th, 2026, was a rare display of force in American aviation history. And the most devastating moment of this operation tookplaceonMarch2nd, 2026. Thetargets were themassive ballistic missile complexes carved intothemountainsnearKoramabad inLorestan province andTreinEast Aabaijan province which cost billions of dollars to build.
The firsttarget was theKuramabad underground facility known as the ImamAlibase.ThisfacilitywasIran's largest ballistic missile complex. A massive underground city consisting of tunnels ranging from 36 to 50 km in length. A labyrinth
wherehundreds ofShahab3variant missiles were stored, launchpads were concealed, and ammunition depots were lined up.
This was the backbone of Iran's regional deterrence. The operation wasnearlyimpossible forabomber like the B-52. However, Iran's air defense network, which relied on early warning radars based on copyingtechnologies, wasrendered blind in the first hours of the operation by simultaneous cyberattacks and electronic warfare elements. This initial phase prevented personnel hundreds of meters below ground from grasping the scale of the danger on the surface. Withtheradar screensblacked out, the Iranian military could not see the impending destruction and its defense systems were disabled. When this window of complete vulnerability intheairspaceopened for just 48 hours, the US Air Force deployed the B-52 Strato Fortress, the heavyweight of its strategic bomber fleet, to strike Iran.
On the night of March 2nd, bombardment salvos from B-52s descended like a nightmare upon the largest underground missile arsenal in Kuramabad. The operation's core architecture was based on a layered destruction strategy. Inthefirstphase,B2Spirit aircraft silently infiltrated Iranian airspace and dropped 30,000lb GBU57 bunker busting bombs on the targets.
These bombs penetrated deep into themountains, destroying themain doors and critical support columns inseconds.Theaerodynamic design of the GBU57 munitions combined with gravitational acceleration generates extraordinary kinetic energy. This energy capable of penetrating 60 m of reinforced concrete and hard rock creates a seismic shock wave upon impact that causes irreparable structural cracks within the tunnel systems.
Immediately afterwards, B1 Lancer and B-52 Stratofortress aircraft arrived in the area. The B1 Lancer aircraftwiththeirsupersonic speeds entered and exited the battlefield,
hunting down mobile air defense batteries onebyone.Subsequently, the B-52s blasted surface support buildings, ventilation shafts, communication antennas, and power transmission lines off the map with thousands of pounds of JDAM smart munitions.
More than eight main tunnel entrances were crushed in seconds by bunker busting bombs. GBU57s plunged into the mountain, collapsing key passageways. The innerpartsofthetunnelscollapsed. Massive explosions ejected huge fireballs from the mountains to the outside. Heat signatures from NASA's firm satellite systems recorded extraordinary temperature increasesintheareaaftertheattack.
The chain reaction explosion of ammunition depots inside the mountains created massive heat waves that reached the surface. Hermabad fell.Iran'slargest missile depot is now a pile of rubble. As Hermabad burned, the Tbre silo complex inEast Azabaijanprovince shared the same fate. This facility withits100kmlongtunnelnetwork
was the main source of Iran's retaliatory missilesfiredatUrbil and theregion.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently signed House Bill 4211, a law specifically designed to ban "Sharia compounds" in residential property developments.
While this legislation has sparked renewed national discussion, Texas is not the first state to act, as Oklahoma, Kansas, and Tennessee have enacted similar foreign law bans since 2010. These legislative initiatives, often
categorized under "American Laws for American Courts," seek to guarantee that no foreign or religious legal doctrines supersede the U.S. Constitution.
Proponents maintain that strictly enforcing a single rule of law is absolutely necessary to protect individual liberties and prevent discriminatory housing practices.
Opponents, including various civil rights groups, argue these bans unfairly target religious minorities and complicate routine legal procedures like international adoptions or religious prenuptial agreements.
How do you think courts should navigate the delicate balance between upholding a single constitutional standard and respecting diverse religious practices? Whatare your thoughts?

The United States Air Force has
deployed its stealth Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit bomber in strikes targeting hardened missile facilities in Iran, marking a major escalation in the ongoing air campaign.
The long-range stealth bombers reportedly flew from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri to carry out deep-penetration strikes against fortifiedunderground sitesbelieved tostore ballisticandcruisemissiles.
Rather than attempting to
completely destroy the heavily protected cave complexes, the mission focused on collapsing entrances and sealing launch tunnels, effectively preventing access to missiles stored inside.
Military planners moved after Iranian air defense networks were weakened, creating a limited window for stealth aircraft to operate in contested airspace.
TheB-2 Spirit iscapable ofcarrying powerful bunker-busting precision weapons designed to penetrate rock and reinforced concrete capabilities few other aircraft can match.
Defense analysts say the operation represents a shift in strategy, moving from intercepting missile launches to directly targeting the infrastructure used to store and deploy them.

STRAIT OF HORMUZ MINES V. KHARG MILITARY BASES BOMBED
BY TRUMP. Srinivas G Nikam. @followers
enters its second week. President Trump’s message to the Iranian leadership is unmistakable: any attempt to choke the Strait of Hormuz will result in the total liquidation of Iran’s economic backbone. By "obliterating" military targets on Kharg Island while pointedly sparing the loading terminals, the U.S. has placed a figurative noose around the regime’s neck, waiting for them to kick the chair.
The global energy market is on a knife-edge as Operation Epic Fury
The U.S. military has already disabled Iran’s defense industrial base, with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth confirming that ballistic
missile and drone production lines are "functionally defeated." With additional Marines and warships currently transit to the Middle East, the pressure is mounting. The end point is clear: the complete neutralizing of Iran’s ability to project power or fund its global terror network.
CAN THE IRANIAN PEOPLE SEIZE THE MOMENT?
The brutal destruction of the regime’s military hardware has created a rare window of opportunity. However, thepathtoa post-Islamic Republic future remains clouded by a "leadership vacuum."
TheMojtaba Succession: Thedeath ofAliKhamenei onFebruary 28 led to the swift, hereditary rise of his son,Mojtaba. The Shadow of the Past: While figures like Reza Pahlavi call for a transition,thelackofasingular,onthe-ground leader in Tehran has

The Gas Price Outcome: Ultimately, the "gas price" at home in the U.S. and globally may dictate the timeline. If the 400-million-barrel strategic reserve release fails to stabilize markets, the U.S. may be forcedtoendthewarunilaterallyor move toward a full occupation of the oil fields to ensure flow.

The music, composed in three distinct styles, beautifully reflects the unfolding moments in the lives of the lead couple. Heartfelt praise to music director Roshan D’Souza Angelore for his outstanding work in bringing the musicofRityaBotaanntolife.
Ashwin D’Costa and Joshal Sweeda D’Souza, whose soulful vocals and emotive delivery add another layer of brilliance, making the soundtrack a highlight of the production. The retro-style music, yet timeless in its appeal, is elevated by the singers’ passionate and nuanced delivery. It is truly a musical voyage, drawing listeners into enchanting melodies, just as the creative team had promised.
While the music stands out beautifully, the video quality is
equally impressive. The visuals are thoughtfully composed, each scene rendered with clarity and precision, elevatingtheoverall experience and perfectly complementing thestory.
The main leads, Wencita Dias and Elton Mascarenhas, deliver brilliant performances. Wencita mesmerizes with her innocence and expressiveness, and Elton charms the audience with a portrayal that balances playfulness and sensitivity. Dolla Sir and Sujatha Ma’am, in supporting roles, bring richness and depth that help move the story forward.
Thismusicwillalwaysremainoneof the crowning achievements of the
late DJ Mervin, whose untimely passing in August 2025 shocked all his fans. Under his direction, the video was crafted with meticulous attention to detail, each frame reflecting his artistic vision. DJ Mervinalsoco-wrote thescreenplay with Prajwal Suvarna, creating a narrative that harmoniously blends withthemusicandvisuals, leavinga lasting impression for generations tocome.

What began as a temporary pause during the COVID years slowly turned into a long gap filled with life’s challenges, uncertainties, financial struggles, and responsibilities.
