undertake several activities to help the inmates have a better life and work to correct their past mistakes and prepare for a better life. The PMI unit follows up cases of undertrials for speedy disposal and seekreleaseinsuitableminorcases, throughmediation.Inthe1960sitis recalled that Capuchin Priests from St.Anns's friary neighbouring the District Prison, usedtovisitthe Jails and provide spiritual services to Catholic prison inmates as best suited as a welfare service of the church. MuchlaterPMIcamealong rooted in Kerala to work on this

exclusive aspect.There are around 1200 PMI Units all over India and Mumbai too has several units operating.

as the honouring of Mother Mary with flowers by children and soulstirring devotional hymns, created an atmosphere of deep spirituality. The inclusion of traditional dishes like 'vorn' prepared by Vinita Coutinho, Laveena Vaz, Vidya Lobo and Pratibha Saldanha and 'blessed novem,' brought by Rudolf Saldanha, was not just a culinary delight but also a symbol of gratitudefortheblessingsofnature and a bountiful harvest. Kiran Saldanha and sisters Divya Gomes and Deepti Serrao who danced to a medley of “What Jumka”, “Calm Down”, “Ya Ya MayaYa”and“MariaPitache”. The evening's standout nostalgic moment came from a hilarious Konkani skit that was skilfully written, directed, and performed by Richard D'Souza, and ably supported by Brayan Cutinha and Anand Menezes. The atmosphere was brimming with laughter, showcasingtheessenceofunityand happiness that characterizes SingMangGo.

Of course, no celebration would be complete without delectable food, and SingMangGo ensured that the flavoursofMangaloreandGoatook centre stage. Joel Saldanha and his culinaryteamfromPen&Inc,along with contributions of homemade dishesfromthecommunity,created a feast that not only satisfied the appetite but also nourished the

Satya Prakash got up and strode across the room, the rhythmic creak from his shoe which echoed throughout the room as he

Okk then….Satya prakash took a calculator from the office table and entered the valve as below.

Arabica per acre yield

Average 10 bags (bag is 50 kg)

10 bags *40acre =400bags. (- 43%pulp to be removed). then 228bags of parchment. Rate per bag 14000 rupees.

228*14000=31.9 Lakh

Then for Robusta per acre yield

Average 20 bags per acre

20bags *60acre =1200bags

(-43% pulp to be reduced)

Then 684 bags of parchment. Rate per bag 10000rupees

68.4 lakh

Gross profit 1 crore. (Arabica and Robusta).

The total cost of fertilizer, labor, harvesting, =78lakh

With trivial tactics of SI Satya Prakash, Frightened Lakshmi whimpered and divulged in low tone, I had a dream of living rich, when I came newly to this place I was fascinated by the look of the bungalow, as the owners are always away, I wanted to enjoy the lavishness inside, one day I tried to

snoop inside the bungalow and went in, I was amazed by the opulent sofa set, to feel the leather work I sat on it, Intolerant Charlie butler yelled and abused me, he obtrude me, then after bunglow is just a dream for me, bunglow is in high land and my dreams were high too, My wish got roots and wings at a time owner and his family visited this place, their two cute kids took my attention, madam and Sir Toras are very down to earth, as the kids playing in the garden, I was watching them affectionately, one day madam knocked my door, as I was preparing banana leaf pancake, she showed interest to savor,Ioffered andshe wowed with the taste,

At that time a thought rose in my mind,whycan’tIbecometheirchef, if I enter their bunglow with such good-hearted people, I can sway my husband in the estate administration so that we can oust Manager Serao.

My obstacles were Butler Charlie and Manager Serao, my husband used to visit the shrines, I tried to get the help of a wizard, I cajoled Dhanpal for things to be done, as he was looking for care and affection, I persuaded him through my cooked food and attention. Upon the advice of a

wizard, I used to roam around bungalow at past midnight to terrify and decamp Charlie butler, To bring bad name on Serao I instigated my husband for coffee theft, after overcoming his inceptive tentativeness, we made some fair money from stolen coffee bean. That fate night, Charlei butler saw Dhanpal on my doorstep, being inquisitive he came close to the slope of our house and fell down on rough terrain, took a bang on his headduetothefall,withdeepmoan of pain he tried to get up, I incited Dhanpal to take a large piece of firewood and smash on Charlie butlers head, he unmoved with that blow. By the heat of that firewood, I prepared food for Dhanpal and served him wine. Morning as known nothing Dhanpal called the police,

last night I was performing further rituals. You came to the scene, we wanted to show you the same fate, you were fortunate to be unhurt from the fall.

ASI Mohan handcuffed Lakshmi, Dhanpal for the murder and Chandar for theft. They were made to climb a police van, the dust kicked up by the moving van took time to settle down. Just like after a storm comes a calm..

Students Day 2023 was celebrated with a flourish at St Agnes PU College on 22 September. This day

is an eventful milestone in a student’s life. The cultural programmewhichwasheldinthe

auditorium commenced with a prayer song by the staff who invoked divine blessings on their belovedstudents.

This was followed by a slew of entertainment programmes by the

students. This served to break the monotony of academic life and instillednewvigourandexuberance inthestudentswhoperformedwith pizazz.

The II PU students presented a spectacular and hilarious spoof on moviesandtickledthefunnybones of the audience. The I PU students had a variety programme where they showcased their skills in singing and dancing to trending viral songs. The students who were exceptionally talented were also given a platform to dazzle the audience withtheirscintillatingand

on their self-confidence and creativity. Students were also awarded prizes for their sparkling

distinct acts during a special slot carvedoutforthem.

The Principal Sr Norine D'Souza quotedDrAPJAbdulKalamAzad"A dream is not that which you see while sleeping; it is something that does not let you sleep." She exhortedthestudentstobefocused and not let obstacles discourage them.Shealsocomplimentedthem

performances in the various competitions conducted in the college that won them recognition

and acclaim. The prizes were distributed by the PTA Joint SecretaryDrDivyaDamodhar. In the afternoon, the teachers decided to surprise the students
