ThermoTec™ technology utilises a combination of highly efficient low temperature SMD LEDs bonded directly to an aluminium heatsink and surrounded by an injected thermoplastic housing. S19 & R7S LED lamps Description
Description
The new S19 LED lamp is a highly efficient direct replacement for traditional halogen and fluorescent S19 lamps. With its opal coating and warm white colour it is ideal for residential applications. 360° beam angle allows for no dark spots and full illumination without waiting for the lamp to warm up as previously with the traditional lamps.
Upgrading those difficult to reach existing external light fittings just got that much easier and cheaper with the new R7s lamp. Retrofitting halogen floodlights simply need lamp replacements without having to remove and reinstall new light fittings.

Until fairly recently recessed downlights were installed in homes and workplaces without any thought of heat loss or effect they would have on ceiling voids or loft spaces. The world focus on energy efficiency, global warming, CO2 emissions, current Building Regulations and high energy prices has brought about a change in perception. Now new energy efficient homes require lighting that will conform to the latest standards which include Building Regulations and cost reduction requirements.

Cutting a hole in a ceiling for a downlight creates a number of cold bridges issues, i.e. degradation of fire rating and acoustic rating, an increase in heat loss and moisture transfer. The Aurora insulation covered downlights allow the glass or rock mineral wool insulation to be laid directly over the downlight without modification or gaps and therefore : • • •
Removes the cold bridging effect of conventional downlights stopping heat transfer into the loft or ceiling void and thereby reducing energy costs. Simplifies installation saving time and money. Downlights can be ‘final fixed’ after the insulation has been laid saving time and installation costs.

Different buildings have specific ceiling constructions. Ceilings must be constructed to provide protection to the floors above and adjacent buildings to provide fire resistance. Ceiling joists may be spaced at different distances apart and various specifications of plasterboard are used to achieve a specific duration of fire resistance. It is important that the Fire Rated Downlight used is suitable for the ceiling construction. Having a 90 minute test certificate does NOT mean that the product is suitable for 30 or 60 minute duration installations. For all 30/60/90 minute installation types, three separate tests are required and the appropriate certification for each. Please ensure your local regulations before specifying.
