President’s Report

The Alpha Upsilon chapter of Phi Gamma Delta has had yet another great year on campus. We have continued excellence in academics, campus involvement, philanthropy, and athletics. As a chapter, we have finished as one of the top fraternities in grades on campus with a chapter average GPA of 3.45 for over 200 brothers. We were recognized with the blank award from Phi Gamma Delta for our academic achievement In addition, we have raised over $75,000 in philanthropy with our Meals to Missions campaign and other events. These proceeds will benefit those in need overseas along with the Big House Foundation and Exceptional Foundation right here in Auburn. We are very grateful for all those who participated in these efforts. The chapter continues to be one of the most involved here in Auburn, holding executive positions in the War Eagle Girls and Plainsmen and Interfraternity Council. In addition, our brothers are involved in Student Government Association, Auburn Football, IMPACT, and other organizations here on campus. We look forward to continuing to impact Auburn’s campus in the future. In athletics, we brought home both the Intramural Basketball & Intramural Football championships, continuing a long-standing tradition of success. Last year, we brought in Chef Pyong Lee who has excelled in his role over the kitchen 2024 was an incredible year for the chapter and we look forward to continued success in 2025.

Brotherhood Events

Social chairs Gavin Veasy (2026) and Will Kemp (2026) have a great fall planned ahead of us. They have planned multiple band parties, date parties, a tailgate for every game, and some fun brother events as well. In terms of date parties we still have the classics like Champaign Jam and Christmas Casino, but this fall we are excited about a toga party and a new Octoberfest date party.

The Burn the House Down tradition still stands with a date party on Thursday and one of our biggest band parties of the year on Friday. Another long tradition still stands with Trotline playing during syllabus week at the house which always gets the energy up for all of the brothers starting school. Three years ago we started an annual Corn hole Tournament that has been played every Friday of the first week of school It is one of the brothers favorite things that always kicks off the semester on a good note. Formal this year will again be in New Orleans.

Gavin and Will also implemented a spring parents weekend which was a huge success We look forward to seeing FIJI graduate brothers at the house later this fall for football season.

Philanthropy

The past two Philanthropy Chairmen, Judson Lindsey (PC 22) and George Long (PC 23) have focused on growing the chapter's Philanthropic efforts Throughout the past year, the Fraternity has continued our long standing traditions with the Peach Basket basketball tournament and the Phi Gam Open golf tournament. These traditions have continued this year as George Long has taken over the Philanthropy Chair duties. Before Lindsey left office in the fall, he worked with Long and a team of brothers from each pledge class to lead an ambitious new Philanthropy fundraiser through the Meals To Missions Foundation. Our brothers raised over $76,000 to benefit local charities including the Exceptional Foundation of East Alabama, the Big House Foundation, and the East Alabama Food Bank. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will be used in support of the Meals to Missions Foundation’s efforts to assist with hunger issues abroad. This fall, George and new Philanthropy Chair Aiden Mills (PC 24) will lead out chapter in another campaign through meals to missions. We would love your support in helping our community and our Chapter by giving this fall. The Chapter also continues to serve the Auburn community with brothers contributing hundreds of service hours each semester. We also support other Greek chapters by collecting pop tabs, sponsoring participants in philanthropy events, supporting IFC events, and through numerous other efforts. We look forward to continuing the strong traditions of philanthropy and service that we have instilled in our chapter

Alumni Spotlight

Ben Conry For our Alumni Spotlight we will be recognizing Ben Conry a former President My name is Ben Conry, and I had the privilege of being a member of Phi Gamma Delta (Fiji) at Auburn from 2015 to 2019. The fraternity had an incredible influence on my life, both during my time at Auburn and after graduation. Through Fiji, I found not just a group of friends, but a lifelong brotherhood My 50 pledge brothers became some of my closest friends, and I cherished building connections with both older and younger members. Being part of such an outstanding organization pushed me to grow into the best version of myself and opened doors I never imagined. The friendships I formed didn’t end with graduation; I still travel frequently to visit my brothers in various cities At my wedding, 14 men stood beside me, 11 of whom were fraternity brothers. I’ve also had the unique opportunity to start a company with a fellow Fiji brother, an incredible journey we've shared for the past five years. Working alongside someone who shares my core values has been invaluable. Fiji didn’t just shape my college experience it gave me lifelong friendships and countless opportunities Those four years were some of the best of my life, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.

Alumni Directory

Over the past few years, Brad Cink (PC’07) has been working on an organization directory software called Shirly. This software aims to enhance connections between active and graduate members of various organizations, including universities, Greek organizations, athletics, graduate schools, civic groups, and religious organizations. Implementing Shirly has become a top priority initiative for the brothers of Phi Gamma Delta. We firmly believe that by engaging our brothers throughout their membership lifecycle, we can strengthen the bonds of our fraternity and truly embrace our motto, “not for college days alone.”

In the coming months, we will actively onboard active and graduate brothers of the Alpha Upsilon chapter onto our new alumni directory, powered by Shirly. We encourage all brothers to update their contact information so that we can continue to expand alumni outreach and communications over time. Additionally, you’ll be able to explore Alpha Upsilon’s archive material on the platform and stay informed about the latest updates on campus.

You can find the alumni directory at www directory aufiji com Interested in bringing Shirly to another organization? For more information, please visit https://www.shir.ly or contact sales@shir.ly
