A TEMPLE TO LINCOLN’S EVOLVING URBAN MARSH Lincoln, Nebraska Fall 2023 (8 Weeks) Instructor: Pedro Aguero Arroyo
A transformative journey from the salt marsh on which Lincoln was built upon, through the industrial boom due to the growth of the Midwest rail system, to the future of educational institutions bridging the gap between the general public and influential leaders.

Interior Lobby Perspective
The upwards sloping roof-line directs the visitor from the intimate historical galleries to the optimistic future-focused gallery in order to first invoke the user to be humbled, and then to encourage them to imagine the future possibilities of Lincoln, Nebraska.
The circular windows (inspired by Michael Graves’s St. Coletta School) induce a feeling of being in a submarine, with rounded portholes being your only visual connection to the present reality.
HEMEROSCOPIUM HOUSE FRAGMENT REPLICATION
Madrid, Spain Ensamble Studios Spring 2024 (3 Weeks) Instructor: Zac Porter
A dissection and reconstruction of the major elements of the Hemeroscopium House in Madrid, Spain, by Ensamble Studios. Model is at a 1/2”=1’ scale and was constructed by casting concrete, 3-D printing, casting epoxy resin, laser cutting, and metalworking.
CONCRETE I-BEAM
Used to support floor plates and other I-beams. Model was made by foam-casting high-strength concrete.
Granite Counterweight
Called the ‘G Point’, a 20-ton granite stone is used to equilibrate the structure. Model was made by foam-casting highstrength concrete, then roughing up with
Window Panel Curtain Wall
Used as a exterior skin composed of mirrored glass and steel, but represented as a semi-translucent film over a white frame in Ensemble Studio’s model. This model was composed by overlaying thick vellum paper over a 3-D printed frame.
Inverted-A Steel Column
Positioned in the center of the structure and used to support the cantilevered concrete lap pool. Model was made by cutting, welding, and sanding a 1” strip of steel.
Cantilevered Concrete Pool
Protruding out of the house’s main bedroom, the 16’ concrete pool attracts the most attention out of all the house’s elements. Model was made by foam-casting high-strength concrete, attaching a cut acrylic sheet, and casting dyed epoxy resin in-place with cling wrap.

An homage to the native flora and fauna of South Beach, Miami, through a reflection of the city’s Art Deco history. A flamingo motif can be seen through the wing-like room find and the hue of pink used throughout

RICHARD DIEBENKORN: CUBED
Ocean Park No. 30 Spring 2023 (3 Weeks) Instructor: Sarah Karle
Created through the exapansion of Richard Diebenkorn’s painting titled ‘Ocean Park No. 30’ by dimensionally developing each of the elements and principles of design. Subsequent application onto the sides of a cube through a subtractive process resulted in dynamic and interlocking geometric journeys.
DESIGN AND MAKING TRADITIONS IN CATALONIA Catalonia, Spain Summer 2023 (3 Weeks) Instructor: Brian Kelly
Over the spam of three weeks, we landed and briefly toured in Madrid, spent a week model making at the Atelier la Juntana Workshop in Liencres, and concluded by studying and sketching Barcelona and its neighboring cities. Media TIC (Barcelona)
