Three of the UK’s leading property auction businesses, North West-based Pugh, East Midlands’ SDL Property Auctions and Yorkshire firm Mark Jenkinson, are joining forces to operate under a single national brand: BTG Eddisons Property Auctions.
Together, the three firms sold over £375 million of property in 2025 and the merger creates one of the largest property auction businesses in the UK.
The combined business will provide a full spectrum of auction formats, including live-streamed, multi-lot timed and single-lot timed auctions, with approximately 400 lots offered each month. These will cover residential and commercial properties, land and development opportunities, giving clients nationwide access to a broad property offering.
The unification forms part of the wider rebrand of Begbies Traynor Group to BTG. Leeds-headquartered property consultancy Eddisons, which joined BTG 11 years ago, has been renamed BTG Eddisons as part of the changes. London-based Network Auctions, acquired by BTG Eddisons at the end of last year, will also adopt the BTG Eddisons Property Auctions identity, further expanding the group’s national footprint.
Andrew Parker, Partner and Auctioneer at BTG Eddisons Property Auctions, said: "This is an exciting step for our clients and the property auction market nationally. While the name is changing, the teams and expertise that our clients know and trust remain exactly the same. By unifying our operations, we can offer a wider range of auctions, reach more buyers and sellers and provide a consistent, high-quality service across the country."

"Bringing our teams together under a single banner enables clients to access a fully national service, without losing the local knowledge and relationships that have made each auctions business so successful."
Anthony Spencer, Managing Partner at BTG Eddisons, added: "By bringing these three auction houses together under one brand, we can offer clients scale, expertise, and a broader range of options than ever before. Importantly, this is about strengthening the auction offer rather than disrupting it. Clients will continue to work with the same expert auctions professionals, but now with enhanced access to the full BTG network of financial and real estate services."
Operating across the UK through a network of local offices, BTG Eddisons Property Auctions continues to innovate with technology-enabled sales, including livestreamed and multi-lot timed auctions. This ensures buyers and sellers can transact efficiently anywhere in the country, combining national reach with local expertise.
BTG Eddisons is a national property and asset sales consultancy, uniting specialists across property, business and the public sector. With more than 450 people in 35 offices and over 180 years of heritage, the firm combines local expertise with nationwide reach to deliver practical, trusted advice.

The UK’s used agricultural machinery sector is experiencing sustained activity, driven by a shift in how farmers approach capital investment.
With new machinery prices at historic highs, extended lead times, and ongoing pressure on farm margins, used equipment now offers certainty: known costs, immediate availability and proven performance. According to George Goodwin of Euro Auctions UK Agri Sales, “This is a structural shift rather than a short-term correction.”
Used machinery is increasingly seen as a deliberate investment decision rather than a compromise. Wellspecified tractors, harvesting machines and specialist equipment are enjoying strong demand and resilient values. Financial caution and operational necessity are driving this trend, as farmers face increasing weather volatility, evolving cropping systems and tighter labour availability—forces that require adaptation without taking on the balance-sheet risk of new purchases.
The used market allows farmers to adjust capacity, reconfigure fleets or trial alternative systems with speed and flexibility. Strong export demand and the growth of online auction platforms have broadened the buyer base, maintaining competitive tension and protecting values even during slower agricultural cycles.
Current machinery turnover is being driven less by expansion and more by optimisation. Many operators are choosing to replace machines now to crystallise strong residual values, reduce exposure to rising repair costs, simplify fleets, or step into newer, more efficient models without absorbing the initial depreciation associated with new machinery. This trend towards shorter ownership cycles is keeping stock flowing through the used market

and reinforcing its momentum, even as confidence in new purchases remains subdued.
Recent auctions demonstrate the variety and value of machinery available:
• 15 unused Massey Ferguson 7724S sold to buyers across the UK and Ireland, fetching £66,000–£79,000 each
• 2 Case Magnum 380 (2023 & 2021) sold for £132,000 & £129,000
• Kubota M7-173 (2024), £58,000
• 3 self-propelled sprayers: Houseman, Bateman and Chafer
• 1 Claas Forage Harvester
• 1 Keenan self-propelled Feeder Wagon
Altogether, these 23 machines represented over £1 million of equipment. Consignments are coming from main dealers, manufacturers, independent dealers and farmers, highlighting the necessity of a truly unreserved auction where machines sell, satisfying both buyers and sellers.
Farmers and operators with machinery to sell are encouraged to consign to the March sale by 4th March 2026 to receive payment in the same month. Euro Auctions continues to provide a platform that ensures machines achieve their best value through competitive, transparent bidding.
Euro Auctions is a leading auctioneer of industrial, agricultural and construction equipment, running over 200 sales annually. With offices in Northern Ireland and sites across Europe, the UK, Australia, Abu Dhabi, the USA and Canada, they are a trusted name in both domestic and international markets.

A further tranche of late-model construction and recycling machinery is set to go under the hammer, after BPI was appointed by a leading UK finance company to manage the next online auction following the closure of Warwick Ward (Machinery) Ltd.
The catalogue features a broad selection of wellmaintained, high-spec assets, including CASE 921G, 821G and 721G wheeled loaders, Terex TTS620 trommel screeners, a 2020 Terex TWH216 material handler and a 2022 CASE skid steer. Additional plant and equipment suitable for construction, quarrying and recycling operations will also be offered.
This latest sale follows a successful initial auction that drew significant interest from buyers across the UK and overseas, underlining continued appetite for quality, latemodel machinery. Competitive bidding in the first phase reinforced the strength of the market for heavy-duty assets of this calibre.
BPI will deliver a fully managed, end-to-end disposal process, including equipment uplift and cleaning to DEFRA-approved standards, detailed cataloguing and imaging, targeted marketing campaigns and complete online auction management. International buyers are also supported with export coordination and overseas shipping via NMT Shipping International UK Ltd.
Commenting on the upcoming sale, Nathan Burnham, Associate Director at BPI, said: “Following strong demand seen across the market, this auction releases

further equipment for those looking to strengthen or expand their fleets. The level of interest achieved previously reflects the ongoing appetite for late-model, heavy-duty machinery of this type."
“Our focus is on delivering a clear, efficient sales process that allows buyers to assess, bid on and secure assets with confidence and at true market value.”

For contractors, fleet managers and business owners alike, they offer access to a wide range of assets with immediate availability — often at figures below traditional retail channels.
However, achieving genuine value at auction is rarely accidental. The strongest results come from preparation, market awareness and disciplined bidding.
Success begins well before the sale goes live.
Reviewing auction catalogues in advance allows buyers to assess specifications, operating hours and asset history, narrowing down lots that align with operational requirements. Comparing similar machines across multiple sales can also reveal pricing patterns and highlight where real opportunities may lie.
Understanding current market values is equally important. A clear idea of what a machine would cost through a dealer or private sale provides context and helps establish a sensible bidding limit.
Price alone should never drive the decision. Most plant and machinery is sold “as seen”, making it essential to examine condition reports, photographs and available service records in detail. Visible wear, incomplete maintenance history or potential compliance work can all affect the true cost of ownership.
Buyers should also factor in additional expenses such as buyer’s premiums, VAT and transportation. The hammer price is only part of the overall investment.
Auctions are competitive environments by design. Momentum can build quickly and bidding can escalate beyond original intentions.

Setting a maximum budget, based on research rather than impulse, remains the most effective way to avoid overpaying. Online proxy bidding can also help maintain control, ensuring decisions remain commercially focused rather than reactive.
Measured bidding consistently delivers better long-term results than chasing a lot beyond its value.
With regular sales bringing a steady flow of excavators, loaders, cranes and specialist equipment to market, plant and machinery auctions continue to present significant opportunity.
For buyers who take the time to understand the market, assess assets thoroughly and bid strategically, auctions can deliver reliable machinery while protecting capital outlay.
In a sector where margins matter, knowledge and preparation remain the strongest tools in the room.
