Over 200 engineering and fabrication assets have been successfully sold as BPI manages the complete disposal project for the global commercial kitchen equipment manufacturer.
Asset disposal specialists BPI have successfully completed the sale of more than 200 engineering and fabrication assets on behalf of global commercial kitchen equipment manufacturer H+K International.
The disposal formed part of changes to H+K International's UK manufacturing operations, with BPI appointed to manage the sale of the remaining production assets from the company's Rugby facility.
The online auction featured a range of high-spec CNC fabrication equipment, including Bystronic Xpert press brakes, a Bystronic BySprint Fiber laser cutter, Trumpf and Amada machinery, Air Plants fume extraction systems, as well as substantial quantities of tooling, workshop equipment, steel racking and pallet trucks.
“We coordinated the decommissioning, logistics and collection of large, high-value machinery, providing the client with a fully managed disposal service from beginning to end.
Jamie Senior Associate Director, BPI
”Working from the client's site, BPI managed the project from start to finish, including marketing the assets, hosting a buyer open day, coordinating the decommissioning and lifting of machinery weighing up to 18 tonnes and overseeing collections. To help maximise returns, one of the key assets was sold through a negotiated sale, while an extended collection programme ensured the safe and efficient removal of both smaller equipment and larger machinery.
Jamie Senior, Associate Director at BPI, said: "This project demonstrated the importance of careful planning and specialist knowledge. Alongside marketing the assets to the right buyers, we coordinated the decommissioning, logistics and collection of large, high-value machinery, providing the client with a fully managed disposal service from beginning to end."
Gary Furniss for H+K International said: "We were looking for a partner that could manage the disposal professionally and efficiently while allowing our team to remain focused on our operational priorities. BPI handled every stage of the project, from marketing the assets through to coordinating collections, making the entire process straightforward and well managed."
The disposal was completed over six weeks, with all assets successfully removed from the site within the required timeframe.

Buyers will be able to access fully graded, accurately described retail surplus stock with £2 starting bids, no reserves and transparent all-in pricing.
new online auction platform is set to bring a different approach to retail liquidation sales, with Bid STOCS preparing to launch its first rolling auctions in August 2026.
Registration and the first lot previews for Bid STOCS (bid.stocs.com) will open next week (w/c 27 July), giving buyers early access to upcoming lots and the opportunity to review stock information before bidding begins.
Built specifically for liquidation and surplus retail stock, the platform has been designed to address some of the challenges traditionally associated with buying clearance inventory online. Each lot will be professionally graded, accurately described and photographed before appearing for auction, providing buyers with greater visibility and confidence when assessing potential purchases.
The initial auctions will feature individual retail return items, followed by curated box lots containing fully manifested stock. Buyers will be able to see exactly what is included within each box,
alongside the genuine market value of the contents, before placing a bid. Only functional, tested items will be listed, removing much of the uncertainty often associated with liquidation purchases.
Bidding will begin in early August, with lots opening at £2 and selling with no reserve. Every purchase will feature a single all-in price, with no buyer’s premium added at checkout, while winning buyers will also benefit from a 14-day buyer protection policy. New stock will be released daily, with auctions closing on a rolling basis to ensure there is always new inventory becoming available.
The platform has been developed in response to feedback from buyers across the UK online auction market, where concerns have included inconsistent descriptions, ungraded or untested stock and additional fees appearing late in the purchasing process. By creating a consistent approach to grading, photography, manifests and pricing, Bid STOCS aims to make buying liquidation stock more straightforward and transparent.
STOCS, which also operates a wholesale pallet platform at bulk. stocs.com, was founded by Sheldon Miller, former Business Development Board Director at John Pye Auctions and co-founder of the Nationwide Disposals Agency.
“Last week we set out what we were building. Now we can give buyers the dates,” said Sheldon Miller. “Previews open next week so people can see the grading and lot detail for themselves before a single bid is
placed and the first rolling auctions follow in August. We have taken the time to get the grading and manifests right, because that is what removes the risk buyers have lived with for years.”
The launch forms part of STOCS’ wider mission to use data to better connect surplus stock with primary demand, helping retailers recover value from excess inventory while supporting a more circular approach to retail.
Early registration is now open at bid. stocs.com, with early sign-ups entered into a prize draw to win a 100” smart TV. Those who register ahead of launch will be among the first buyers able to preview the opening lots and prepare their bids.
Register now at bid.stocs.com to be among the first buyers to access Bid STOCS’ new retail liquidation auctions when bidding opens in August.

A rare opportunity to acquire plant and machinery from one of Britain’s best-known ceramics manufacturers.
The closure of Denby Pottery marks the end of one of Britain's oldest and most celebrated ceramics manufacturers, bringing to a close more than two centuries of pottery production in Derbyshire.
Following the company's entry into administration in March 2026, with FRP Advisory appointed as Administrators, Hilco Global Professional Services has been instructed to conduct the sale of the plant and machinery from the renowned manufacturing site. The business was impacted by a challenging trading environment, with rising energy costs, weakening consumer demand and increasing financial pressures, despite efforts to secure new investment.
Founded in 1809, Denby became internationally recognised for its high-quality stoneware, iconic Imperial Blue collection and ceramics crafted using locally sourced Derbyshire clay. Its products earned a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and durability, making the brand a household name across generations and establishing Denby as one of the most recognisable names in British ceramics.
Throughout its long history, the Denby site became synonymous with traditional pottery skills combined with modern manufacturing techniques, producing millions of pieces of tableware for customers around the world. The sale of the remaining plant and machinery provides an opportunity for businesses within the ceramics
sector and other related industries to acquire specialist equipment with a proven manufacturing history.
The online auction will take place on Thursday 30 July 2026 from 11:00am BST, offering buyers a rare opportunity to acquire specialist ceramics manufacturing equipment from one of Britain’s best-known pottery manufacturers. The catalogue includes machinery from leading manufacturers such as ShinEi-Kiko Co, Zeidler, Service Engineers Ltd, VSM Metalworking and Drayton, alongside packaging lines, glazing systems, tunnel kilns and a wide variety of production equipment suitable for ceramics and tableware production.
The range of assets available reflects the scale and complexity of Denby’s historic manufacturing operation, with equipment covering multiple stages of the production process, from forming and finishing through to glazing, firing and packaging. The auction is expected to attract interest from ceramics manufacturers, industrial buyers, resellers and investors looking to secure highquality machinery.
The sale has already generated strong interest, with ceramics manufacturers, industrial buyers and investors from across the UK and overseas registering to participate. This interest reflects both the quality of the assets and the scale of the manufacturing operation at the Derbyshire site.

Jonathan Munnery from UK Liquidators explains how selling business assets through auction can provide a fast, efficient route to releasing value and improving cash flow.
hen a business faces financial challenges, finding ways to improve cash flow quickly can become a priority. Valuable assets such as machinery, equipment, vehicles and stock can represent significant untapped value, and selling through auction provides a fast, efficient way to unlock it.
Jonathan Munnery, business rescue expert at UK Liquidators, explains why asset auctions can be a valuable option for company directors looking to realise business assets quickly and efficiently.
Turning Assets Into Cash
Businesses can hold significant value in the assets they use every day, from manufacturing machinery and production equipment to commercial vehicles, tools and specialist stock.
When circumstances change, an asset auction can provide a practical way to convert these assets into cash. Unlike private sales, auctions give sellers access to an established network of buyers across different sectors and locations. The continued growth of online auctions has further expanded this reach, allowing assets to be marketed to national and international audiences while creating greater opportunities for competitive bidding.
A Faster Route to Sale
One of the key benefits of selling assets through auction is speed. Professional auctioneers manage the process from sale preparation through to completion, including cataloguing, photography, marketing
and buyer enquiries.
Once bidding begins, the competitive auction environment can help achieve a successful sale quickly. Following the fall of the hammer, the transaction is legally binding, giving sellers certainty and a clear route towards payment.
Reaching The Right Buyers
Achieving the best possible outcome relies on reaching the right audience. Professional auction houses use targeted marketing, detailed asset descriptions and established buyer databases to connect sellers with potential purchasers who are actively looking for specific equipment and assets.
For specialist assets, this industry knowledge can be particularly valuable, ensuring items are promoted to buyers who understand their purpose and potential.
Beyond Insolvency
Although asset auctions are often associated with insolvency situations,
they are widely used by businesses for many different reasons.
Companies may choose to sell surplus equipment, clear redundant machinery, restructure operations or release capital for future investment. For businesses experiencing financial pressure, auctions can provide a structured and efficient way to raise funds when timing is critical.
Maximising Asset Value
For businesses looking to unlock the value held within their existing assets, an auction can offer a practical and effective route forward.
Whether you’re looking to sell surplus equipment or source new assets, Auction News connects businesses with the latest auction opportunities from trusted auctioneers across a wide range of sectors.
