Located in John’s Creek, the newly-renovated Ocee Library reflects the Native American heritage of the diverse Ocee community. The upgrades are warm and inviting, with large windows and high, sky-lit ceilings letting in lots of natural light, accented with sculptural art pieces and modular furniture. The new design includes meeting rooms of various sizes, study rooms, a bookstore operated by the Friends of the Ocee Library, and an elaborate Children’s department with special story time and creative activity/learning areas.
The Ocee Library serves as an information and social hub for residential, commercial, technological, and recreational groups in the area.
BUCKHEAD BRANCH

Project Completed - May 2020 This beautiful, bright space was redesigned to include reimagined meeting rooms and three study rooms. In addition, there is now a state of the art teen center and children’s storytime room. Patrons have full access to copier, printer, and self-service checkout stations. The newly renovated Buckhead Library, nestled in the heart of the new Buckhead Shopping District, with its sleek lines and clear view from the front entrance to the rear of the library, has a clean and refreshing atmosphere.
New additions to the Buckhead Library include large and medium sized meeting rooms, three study rooms and a conference style meeting room, as well as a state-of-the-art teen center and children’s story time room. Patrons will also have full access to a business center with color/black and white copier, printer and selfservice checkout stations.
CLEVELAND AVE

The Cleveland Avenue Branch Library initially opened its doors in 1992. The library is located in what is known as the Cleveland Avenue Corridor adjacent to the Cleveland Avenue Elementary School and the Cleveland Avenue Public City Park. In 2001 the library was renamed the Cleveland Avenue - Roy Lyndell Yancey, Sr. Branch Library. The Cleveland Avenue Library boasts Fulton County Government's first rooftop solar installation project, making this library a model of sustainability.
Recent renovations allowed for the addition of a computer lab with a new floor plan that enhances the library for adults, teens and children, and patrons in need of a meeting space or quiet study room.
HAPEVILLE
BRANCH

The Hapeville Library is located in the heart of the bustling downtown Hapeville community. The library was designed to appear as it was ready for take-off, an homage to it's close proximity to the Atlanta Airport. The library is located near the Hapeville Senior Center and across from a local park. Patrons will enjoy a beautiful new building large community room and two small study rooms. Hapeville Library was the only project in the Phase 2 Library Renovation Project to undergo new construction.
Patrons will enjoy a new open layout with plenty of natural light throughout the branch, along with new meeting rooms, computers, furniture and more.
NORTHSIDE BRANCH

The Northside Library moved to its current location in 1989, and has long been a beloved part of the Northside neighborhood. Newly renovated in 2020, the branch now features a beautiful new open layout with study rooms, a new meeting room decked out with modern audio-visual equipment, new technology throughout, more comfortable seating, and dedicated spaces for both children and teens.
The building is brighter and cheerier with improved lighting, pops of color, and floor to ceiling windows that invite the tree-lined surroundings in to give you the best reading, browsing and studying experience.
PONCE DE LEON

The Ponce de Leon Branch Library, as iconic as the street that it's named for, is located on the corner of Frederica and Ponce de Leon Avenue in the trendy Poncey-Highland neighborhood. This in-town gem is within walking distance of several Atlanta landmarks and the Atlanta Beltline. This library connects patrons of all ages and backgrounds with an expansive collection of library materials.
The new and open floor plan at the Ponce de Leon Library allows patrons to enjoy plenty of natural light, access to a new state-of-the-art computer lab, beautiful new storytime area for children and a redesigned meeting room for community gatherings and programs.
MECHANICSVILLE

Project Completed - May 2020 The Mechanicsville Library is a side addition of the Romae T. Powell Juvenile Justice Center with its own parking area and entrance. Originally constructed in 2002, the new 8,000 square-foot renovation features a modern light and dark gray color scheme that is balanced with honey maple wood furnishings throughout. Numerous windows work to brighten the branch as well as give the illusion of it being a larger space. There are two study rooms on level two complimented by a large meeting room on level one.
Mechanicsville Library is the hidden treasure of the community, fully equipped with the latest audio visual communication and presentation technology, plus several computer and collaborative areas for adults, teens and children.
ADAMSVILLECOLLIER HEIGHTS

The Adamsville Collier Heights Branch opened as a 10,000 square foot facility in 1985. It included a beautiful stone building, 45 parking spaces with all the bells and whistles of libraries of that era. It opened to serve the Historical Communities of Adamsville and Collier Heights, and the Martin Luther King Business District. After serving the community for over 30 years, the library received a full makeover and now boasts a more open and airy design, allowing the library to be filled with light and all the amenities of a modern library.
There are three study rooms for a quieter setting and small meetings, a designated teen area, and ample seating for patrons to sit and read. There are also powered study tables, an expanded bank of computers, and a laptop seating area.
EAST ATLANTA

The East Atlanta Library captures the neighborhood's vibrancy with bold bright interior colors and a décor that reflects the character and diversity of it's patrons. Floor to ceiling windows provide views of nature and invite people from this walkable community inside. Other features include two new study rooms with video conferencing capabilities and comfortable private seating for leisure readers.
Our newly designed teen area has dedicated furnishings with wireless technology. This newly renovated library offers a wide array of services to meet the needs of our diverse community.
NORTHEAST/ SPRUILL OAKS

The Northeast/Spruill Oaks Library is a beautiful, recently updated branch nestled into a park-like campus in tranquil Johns Creek. There are study rooms, meeting rooms and quiet places to gaze out the window at the surrounding nature. Inside the 25,000 square foot building is a diverse collection of materials including a very special reference collection, donated by the Johns Creek Historical Society, documenting the history of the area.
Part of the renovation included new furniture and work pods like those pictured here. The new open layout allows plenty of natural light and the lush outdoors to decorate the branch. New meeting rooms, study rooms and technology make this renovation a wonderful place to spend an afternoon reading.
