 Shredding accepted until shred trucks reach capacity

 Please remove plastic, metal, and binders

 Prescription, veterinary, and over-the-counter medications

 Needles and liquids NOT accepted

 Items must be less than 40 lbs.

 $10 fee for each plasma and flat screen TV

Trevor asked the question, “Donna, is there a community project we can do at your church?” With Pastor Bruce Johnson’s direction and support, planning began rst of May, painting began May 19, 2025 and completed August 12, 2025 with over 800 hours for 278 feet by 9 feet of wall space. First Church Athens invites you to the open house review of Athens State University MFA Community Project 2025

Creation to the Cross

August 18th, 2025, 7:00 PM 17175 Lucas Ferry Road, Athens, Alabama 35611

First Church Athens is excited to share the talents and giftings of three Athens State University MFA students. Their Graduate Community Service coursework of this large-scale mural, which is located in the hallway on the second- oor, connects multiple Sunday School classrroms servicing children, teens and young adults.

The three MFA students, Trevor Thomas, Beth Paul and Donna Miller worked together during the Summer semester of 2025 to create this beautiful work of art. From concept to execution, the mural provides illustrations, references, scriptures and geographical maps for a biblical journey starting with the Genesis creation story and cullminating in the ascension of Jesus Christ. The art is an engaging and educational experience for viewers of all ages.

Appreciation to the First Church Athens Family who participated and shared their time and talents to help with the completion of The Greatest Love Story. Thank You Jesus Christ.
