CREATING GREAT FOOD EXPERIENCES

THIS YEAR, ATALANTA CORPORATION IS CELEBRATING ITS 75TH ANNIVERSARY. The company kicked off the new year and this momentous milestone with a 200-person town hall and a 75th Anniversary reception in January, which included all of their corporate headquarter employees, family, friends, and business associates. This event marks the start of a series of celebrations that will take place throughout the year. Atalanta Trading Corp. started in 1945 in an office at 82 Beaver St., New York City when Herbert Moeller and Leon Rubin began importing ham from Poland. Today, Atalanta is the largest privately family-owned speciality food importer in North America.

DEMEDICI’S MARQUÉS de GRIÑÓN WINS BEST AND GOLD Marqués de Griñón’s Oleum Artis, a premium extra virgin olive oil from Toledo, Spain, has been honored with both a Best of Class Award and a Gold Medal Award at the 21st annual Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition in February. One of the top-ranking Olive Oil competitions in the United States and fifth worldwide, the LA International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition brings together the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in awarding medals to the best oils from around the globe.

Oleum Artis is an estate-harvested extra-virgin olive oil, pressed within two hours of olive harvest for maximum freshness and bottled in glass Bordeaux bottles used for the family’s world-class wines. The predominately Picual oil is blended with a touch of Arbequina for perfect balance. It has a gleaming, golden hue with vivid aromas of green tomatoes, artichokes and mint. On the palate, it exhibits green vegetable and nutty flavors. Oleum Artis is lovely drizzled over vegetables, cured or cooked meats, seafood and aged cheeses. Oleum Artis was also awarded Gold at the New York International Olive Oil Competition in 2018 and 2019.

HIGHEST PERFORMING TEAM OF THE YEAR!

With record-breaking attendees, this year’s Leadership Conference had a lot to offer. Celebrating their 75th anniversary, Atalanta wanted to StandOut and recognize their partners and employees who represent the Atalanta Corporation every day with their talent and entrepreneurial spirit. Keynotes, training and breakout sessions were some of the highlights of the event, but the main takeaway was from President of Atalanta, Tom Gellert’s speech about the family/ company core values, a strongly felt statement from Tom Gellert:

“ We should not be afraid to question, not to cast doubt, but to bring clarity. Ask questions, seek to understand. And when questions are asked, we need to listen. Emphasizing Communication means speaking and listening.”
