Popular Music

The School of Music, Dance and Theatre’s Popular Music program welcomes 21st-century musicians interested in working in the popular music industry. Students have the flexibility to choose specialization coursework that aligns with their interests and career goals. Options include areas like songwriting, laptop performance, music production, composition, instrumental or vocal performance, sound design, software development, audio engineering, and music business or entrepreneurship.

Students attend classes at ASU’s new Fusion on First building in downtown Phoenix. The high-tech innovation hub features a suite of world-class recording studios, rehearsal and performance spaces, digital media labs and studios, and access to a plethora of instrumentation and technology to support student success.
