F U S H I FA RU : A R E F I N E D I S L A N D R E S O RT IN THE MALDIVES In the far reaches of the Indian Ocean, where the blues deepen and time slows to the gentle rhythm of the tide, lies an island that understands the language of refined luxury. Fushifaru is not a spectacle-driven escape, nor does it rely on excess to impress. Instead, it offers something far more enduring: a beautifully balanced resort experience where thoughtful design, marine conservation and personalised hospitality come together with effortless grace.

S

et on the untouched north-eastern edge of Lhaviyani Atoll, Fushifaru occupies a privileged position between protected reefs and open ocean. Surrounded by powder-white sand beaches, lush greenery and crystalline turquoise waters, the island presents a sense of calm from the very first moment — a place where the Maldives reveals itself in a restorative, more considered way. This is a resort that invites guests to experience life both above and under the waterline, where every detail has been designed to enhance

through the next stage of their journey, ensuring a smooth and unhurried transition from international travel to island life. Those travelling by seaplane are escorted on a short transfer to the TMA Seaplane Terminal before embarking on a breathtaking 35-minute flight over the Indian Ocean. Below, scattered atolls and shifting shades of blue offer a preview of the natural beauty that defines the Maldives. Alternatively, guests may travel by domestic flight to Madivaru Island, followed by a scenic speedboat journey across turquoise waters to Fushifaru. Whichever route is chosen, arrival is marked by a warm and joyful Maldivian welcome — upbeat, genuine and refreshingly personal. A RESORT DEFINED BY THOUGHTFUL COMFORT Fushifaru offers a carefully curated collection of 63 villas, comprising 44 Beach Villas and 19 Water Villas, each designed to exude

CUSTODIANS OF A FRAGILE MARINE WORLD One of Fushifaru’s most defining qualities lies beneath the surface. Positioned between three significant marine ecosystems, the resort is the proud custodian of the protected reefs that surround the island. Fushifaru’s commitment to marine conservation extends to an ongoing coral propagation project, where broken coral fragments are carefully attached to specially designed frames in the lagoon to encourage growth and regenerate the house reef. Guests can snorkel around these structures and witness coral development up close. An underwater playground with features like a submerged swing and bicycle adds fun while connecting visitors to the marine environment. Snorkelling and diving experiences reveal vibrant coral gardens, abundant marine life and crystal-clear waters — all preserved through a strong commitment to conservation. “SURROUNDED BY PROTECTED REEFS, THE RESORT STANDS AS A CUSTODIAN OF A VITAL MARINE ECOSYSTEM.” A CULINARY EXPERIENCE ROOTED IN QUALITY Dining at Fushifaru is an experience defined by freshness, flavour and setting. Across its restaurants and bars, the resort offers a diverse culinary journey that reflects both global influences and island inspiration. Korakali All-Day Dining sits at the heart of the island, offering panoramic ocean views and a relaxed yet polished atmosphere. From sunrise breakfasts to evening dining, the menu travels across cuisines while celebrating local ingredients and Maldivian flavours. For a more elevated experience, Raakani Fine Dining overlooks the shimmering sea from a thatched pavilion. THYME:

A R E F I N E D C O TSWO L D S E S TAT E ROOTED IN NATURE AND INTENTIONAL LIVING

Set within the honeyed stone landscape of the Cotswolds, Thyme is far more than an English countryside retreat—it is an immersive expression of nature, heritage, and thoughtful design. Since opening its doors in 2014, Thyme has evolved into a destination that seamlessly blends hospitality, sustainability, and creativity, offering a deeply restorative escape grounded in the rhythms of the land.

amily-run and passionately nurtured, Thyme is the vision of founder and creative directorCaryn Hibbert, whose dedication to preserving and reimagining historic spaces is evident in every detail. Working alongside her children—Charlie Hibbert, Chef Director, and Milly Hibbert, General Manager—the family has carefully restored a collection of 17th-century Cotswold buildings, transforming them into a refined yet welcoming estate. The result is a “village within a village,” where each space reflects craftsmanship, continuity, and a deep connection to the natural world.

At the heart of Thyme lies a profound respect for the land. This philosophy informs not only its aesthetic but also its way of life. The estate’s farm and gardens are integral to its identity, supplying seasonal produce that shapes the menus and experiences across the property. Dining at Thyme, particularly within the Ox Barn restaurant, is a celebration of this farm-to-table ethos. Ingredients are fresh, thoughtfully sourced, and handled with care, resulting in dishes that feel both grounded and elevated. The food quality is exceptional—refined without being fussy, and deeply rooted in seasonality—offering a culinary experience that is as nourishing as it is memorable. Equally notable is the level of service, which strikes a rare balance between polished professionalism and genuine warmth. Guests are welcomed not as visitors, but as part of the Thyme story, with every detail thoughtfully considered to create a seamless and deeply personal stay.

CHEF MANISH MEHROTRA

G A S T R O N O M Y

N I SA BA : A QUIET REVOLUTION IN INDIAN FINE DINING Set within the historic Humayun’s Tomb Museum Complex, Nisaba marks a refined new chapter for Chef Manish Mehrotra, a culinary virtuoso celebrated for redefining Indian cuisine with his innovative and bold approach. This is his first independent outpost, and it feels deeply personal: an intimate, thoughtfully conceived space where his philosophy evolves into something quieter, more reflective, yet no less impactful.

S

ETTING THE SCENE Located in the cultural heart of New Delhi, Nisaba sits against a backdrop steeped in history, offering a rare interplay between heritage and ingredientled gastronomy. Named after the ancient goddess of grain and writing, the restaurant is a tribute to the everyday recipes shaped in Indian homes, bylanes, and small towns. Here, food becomes narrative, memory, and cultural expression, seamlessly woven into an unintimidating dining experience.

Open every dayfor lunch and dinner, it invites guests into a space of quiet discovery, where the future of Indian cuisine is shaped not by excess, but by thoughtful restraint

With Nisaba, my aspiration is to go deeper rather than wider. I want it to be a space where Indian food is explored with global sensitivity and respect, while finding new expressions without losing its identity. It is not about reinventing Indian cuisine for the sake of novelty, but about rediscovering it in an honest way. While innovation remains central to his approach, Mehrotra leans into clarity, memory, and emotional resonance, allowing the essence of each dish to take precedence. It is a move that feels both deliberate and deeply personal—one that signals maturity, confidence, and a return to the roots that have always quietly informed his work.

EVERYDAY INDIA, ELEVATED The inspiration behind Nisaba is drawn from the everyday—recipes shaped over time in Indian homes, in bylanes, and across small towns, often created instinctively and without recognition. Mehrotra brings these influences into focus, elevating them with precision while preserving their authenticity. The result is a menu that feels intimate and reflective, where each dish carries a sense of familiarity, yet is refined through a contemporary lens. FOOD AS STORYTELLING There is also a strong sense of storytelling in this approach. At Nisaba, food becomes a medium through which culture, memory, and personal history are expressed with nuance and restraint. It invites diners to slow down, to engage more thoughtfully, and to rediscover flavours that feel both nostalgic and newly relevant. A LEGACY REIMAGINED In many ways, Nisaba represents a defining moment in Mehrotra’s career—where innovation evolves into introspection, and where the future of Indian cuisine is shaped not through reinvention, but through quiet, confident refinement. Highly Recommended.

ATLANTIS THE ROYAL As Chef de Cuisine and Cake Artist at Atlantis The Royal, Penelope d’Arcy Graham brings over two decades of expertise to the world of luxury hospitality, creating bespoke cakes that merge precision, artistry, and a deeply personal approach to celebration.

A

N UNSCRIPTED BEGINNING Penelope’s path into cake artistry was never part of a defined plan. Born in the UK, she initially pursued a career in fashion, studying textiles at Central Saint Martins, where she developed a strong foundation in colour, composition, and form. From an early age, she was drawn to design, with ambitions rooted firmly in the fashion world. Her introduction to cake came unexpectedly, when a close friend encouraged her to attend a cake decorating class. At the time, the craft existed far from the spotlight it holds today. Yet from the moment she began working with sugar, she felt an immediate connection.

18 |

|

While still studying, she began creating cakes through word of mouth, supported by clients familiar with her bespoke wedding stationery work. This early momentum led her into professional cake kitchens, where she refined her technical skills and established the foundations of a career that would ultimately redefine her creative direction. A CRAFT SHAPED BY EXPERIENCE Over more than two decades, Penelope has

built an international reputation grounded in both technical precision and creative instinct. Her career has taken her across the world, teaching internationally, running cake schools, and collaborating with leading manufacturers on product development, launches, and industry events. Among the most meaningful milestones in her journey is the opportunity to create cakes for the birthday of King Charles III—an experience she describes as deeply special. Equally significant is her role as a mentor. Many of her students have gone on to achieve notable success, including one who was awarded UK Wedding Cake Designer of the Year.

Through each experience, her perspective has remained consistent: that cake, while often understated, plays a powerful role in life’s most meaningful moments. A DEFINING ROLE IN DUBAI Penelope’s move to Dubai came through a leading luxury hospitality recruitment firm that recognised her expertise in cake artistry. She initially joined Atlantis The Royal as part of a branded cake concept aligned with the resort’s opening vision. As the project evolved, so too did her role. As one of Dubai’s most ambitious luxury hospitality destinations, Atlantis The Royal has redefined the city’s approach to experiential travel and high-end celebrations. PRECISION UNDER PRESSURE No two days are ever the same. Within the fast-paced environment of a luxury hotel, adaptability is essential. Unlike traditional cake studios that often operate with long lead times, Penelope frequently works within condensed schedules, responding to last-minute commissions with confidence and agility. Her work involves close collaboration with planners, culinary teams, and clients, often managing multiple high-profile projects simultaneously. POOJA SINGHAL: BEYOND TRADITION

REIMAGINING THE SACRED LANGUAGE OF

PICHWAI

In an era where heritage is preserved but not always reimagined, Pooja Singhal stands apart—bringing fresh perspective and contemporary relevance to the centuries-old art of Pichwai. As the founder of atelier Pichvai Tradition & Beyond, she has transformed a deeply devotional practice into a collectible, design-led art form that resonates far beyond its temple origins. Rooted in craftsmanship yet guided by innovation, her work exists at the intersection of preservation and evolution—where India’s artistic legacy is not only honoured, but reinterpreted for a global, contemporary audience.

T

HE ART OF PICHWAI: FROM SACRED TEXTILE TO CONTEMPORARY CANVAS

Originating in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, Pichwai paintings were traditionally created as intricate textile backdrops for the idol of Shrinathji, a cherubic form of Lord Krishna. Rich in symbolism, detail, and devotional narrative, they were never intended as standalone artworks—but as sacred objects of worship. Yet, over time, changing patronage and declining demand pushed many artisans away from the craft,

28 |

|

threatening its survival. It is here that Singhal’s intervention becomes pivotal. By repositioning Pichwai as a collectible art form—one that belongs as much in modern homes and galleries as in temples—she has fundamentally shifted its trajectory. Her vision reframes Pichwai not as static heritage, but as an evolving visual language. BEYOND TRADITION: A NEW VISUAL VOCABULARY

Singhal’s atelier, established formally in 2010, is built on a powerful premise: tradition must evolve to survive.

THE NEW-AGE ASIAN MAGAZINE

Her approach is neither preservationist nor disruptive—it is interpretive. Through reimaginations like the Greyscale Series, she strips Pichwai of its expected vibrancy, presenting it in monochrome forms reminiscent of archival photography. This subtle yet radical shift invites viewers to engage with composition, line, and narrative in entirely new ways. Elsewhere, she experiments with geometry, abstraction, and architectural frameworks— embedding Pichwai paintings within jharokhastyle installations or integrating global materials

such as Japanese handmade paper. The result is a body of work that feels at once ancient and avant-garde—where Krishna’s iconography coexists with minimalist aesthetics and contemporary spatial design. REVIVAL THROUGH REINVENTION

What distinguishes Singhal’s work is not just aesthetic innovation, but structural transformation. Traditionally, Pichwai production followed a family-based model. Singhal introduced an atelier structure where master artisans and younger artists work together, allowing for both skill transmission and creative evolution. This model has revitalised artisan communities. Where artists once moved away from the craft due to limited demand, they now find sustainable livelihoods and a renewed sense of agency within this ecosystem. Crucially, her platform operates with a philanthropic ethos—proceeds are reinvested into the atelier and its artists, reinforcing a cycle of cultural sustainability rather than commercial exploitation. GLOBALISING A SACRED TRADITION

From the India Art Fair to the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, and most recently a landmark exhibition at London’s Mall Galleries, Singhal has steadily elevated Pichwai onto the global stage. On the horizon is an upcoming satellite exhibition

alongside the Venice biennale, titled From India, to Venice, at the Palazzo Barbaro. These exhibitions do more than showcase art—they reposition it. By presenting Pichwai within contemporary gallery contexts, she challenges long-standing hierarchies that separate ‘traditional’ from ‘modern’ art. Her work has also democratised access. By offering pieces across a range of price points, she has cultivated a new generation of collectors— bridging the gap between seasoned connoisseurs and first-time buyers. In doing so, she is not just reviving an art form; she is rebuilding its audience. ABOUT POOJA SINGHAL

Pooja Singhal is a Delhi-based cultural entrepreneur, collector, and revivalist of traditional Indian arts. With a background in economics and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, she combines business acumen with artistic vision. By reimagining Pichwai for a contemporary audience, she ensures that tradition is not frozen in time, but carried forward with relevance and resonance. In her hands, Pichwai becomes more than art. It becomes a dialogue—between past and present, devotion and design, India and the world. And perhaps most importantly, it becomes proof that true luxury lies not just in rarity, but in meaning, craftsmanship, and cultural depth.

AVA R T A N A , ITC MAURYA: A MODERN ODE TO

SOUTHERN INDIAN GASTRONOMY At ITC Maurya—a landmark synonymous with India’s most celebrated culinary institutions such as Bukhara and Dum Pukht—the arrival of Avartana marks a compelling new chapter in the capital’s fine dining narrative. Globally acclaimed and consistently lauded for its innovative approach, Avartana brings with it a distinctive philosophy: one that reimagines Southern Indian cuisine through a refined, modernist lens while remaining deeply rooted in its cultural and culinary heritage.

D

erived from the Sanskrit word ‘Avartan’, meaning rhythm, mysticism and magic, the restaurant lives up to its name with an experience that unfolds like a carefully composed symphony. Every element—from the choreography of service to the artistry on the plate—works in harmony to create a multi-sensory journey that is both immersive and intellectually engaging.

A NEW LANGUAGE OF SOUTHERN INDIAN CUISINE Avartana challenges conventional perceptions of Southern Indian food. Rather than presenting familiar staples in expected forms, the kitchen interprets them through modern techniques, elevating traditional ingredients such as curry leaves, coconut, tamarind and millets into avant-garde expressions. This is not merely reinvention for novelty’s sake. Instead, it is a thoughtful interplay between memory and modernity—where flavours remain recognisable, yet their presentation and textures surprise and delight. The result is cuisine that feels both comforting and exploratory, inviting diners to rediscover the familiar in entirely new ways. Modern culinary techniques—from aeration

to precision cooking—enhance depth, texture and visual drama, allowing each dish to transcend its traditional origins. It is this balance of innovation and authenticity that has earned Avartana international recognition, including rankings among Asia’s finest restaurants. THE ART OF THE DEGUSTATION EXPERIENCE At the heart of Avartana lies its curated degustation menus—carefully structured narratives that unfold course by course. Guests can choose from a series of thoughtfully designed experiences, each with its own personality and thematic journey. Anika, a thirteen-course menu, is an elegant exploration of Southern India’s diverse culinary landscape, weaving together regional influences with theatrical presentation.

Bela, a nine-course offering, is playful and refined, highlighting the beauty of balance and restraint. Jiaa, spanning eleven courses, is an experimental showcase of the chefs’ creative prowess, blending tradition with contemporary flair. Maya presents a soulful interpretation of peninsular flavours, while Tara, the seafoodfocused menu, celebrates coastal abundance through inventive, modern techniques. Each course is presented as a standalone work of art—often surprising in form yet deeply evocative in flavour. From delicately spiced broths to intricately plated small bites, the experience evolves continuously, engaging all senses and sustaining a sense of anticipation throughout. AN IMMERSIVE, DESIGN-LED SETTING The spatial design of Avartana mirrors its culinary philosophy—contemporary yet deeply rooted. Earthy textures, warm lighting and refined detailing create an ambience that

is both intimate and sophisticated. Rustic earthenware, ornate steel cutlery and elegant glassware enhance the tactile experience, reinforcing the connection to tradition while embracing modern aesthetics. The 54-seater restaurant, complete with a private dining room for more intimate gatherings, offers a sense of exclusivity without feeling formal or distant. An interactive kitchen further enriches the experience, allowing diners glimpses into the precision and artistry behind each dish. A SYMPHONY OF FLAVOURS AND PAIRINGS Complementing the cuisine is a thoughtfully curated beverage programme that celebrates the essence of Southern India. Crafted cocktails infused with regional spices—such as kokum, tamarind and curry leaf—offer a contemporary twist on traditional flavour profiles, enhancing the overall dining journey. Wine pairings further elevate the experience, carefully selected to complement the layered

complexity of each course, transforming the meal into a cohesive and immersive narrative rather than a sequence of dishes. REDEFINING FINE DINING IN THE CAPITAL Avartana is not simply a restaurant—it is an evolving dialogue between past and present, tradition and innovation, art and science. In a city already rich with iconic dining destinations, it introduces a new vocabulary of luxury: one that prioritises experience, storytelling and sensory engagement. Open for dinner daily and for Sunday lunch, Avartana offers a rare opportunity to engage with Southern Indian cuisine at its most refined and imaginative. It is a destination where gastronomy becomes performance, and where each course leaves an indelible impression—lingering not just on the palate, but in memory. For the discerning diner, Avartana at ITC Maurya is more than a meal; it is a journey into the future of Indian cuisine, artfully anchored in its past. Highly Recommended

D R . JA I M A DA A N : B R I D G I N G A S T R O L O GY AND MODERN LIFE

In a world increasingly searching for clarity, meaning and alignment, Dr. Jai Madaan has emerged as a leading voice making ancient metaphysical sciences relevant for contemporary living. A celebrity spiritual mentor and motivational speaker based in India, she works at the intersection of astrology, vastu, numerology and intuitive coaching—helping individuals decode patterns, understand energy and make more conscious life choices. In this conversation with Aspire: The New Age Asian Magazine, she reflects on her journey, philosophy, and how she translates timeless wisdom into practical tools for today’s fast-paced world. Your professional journey beautifully bridges ancient wisdom and modern living — what first drew you to astrology and metaphysical sciences? My journey began with a deep curiosity about life’s invisible patterns. As I grew, I was drawn towards spirituality and traditional Indian knowledge systems that offered meaning beyond the obvious. Astrology fascinated me because it was not just about foretelling, but about understanding timing, emotions, and human decisions. Over time, I realised these ancient sciences are not outdated—they are timeless tools for modern life. That understanding became my calling: to make this wisdom practical, accessible, and relevant. You’ve built a distinctive space that blends astrology, vastu, numerology and life coaching — how do you define your work today beyond the traditional label of an astrologer? I see myself more as a facilitator of self-awareness than just an astrologer. My work is about helping individuals understand their energies, patterns and potential through multiple systems like astrology, vastu, numerology, and intuitive coaching. These are interconnected tools that bring clarity and alignment. Today, my role is to help people make conscious choices rather than depend on predictions. It’s about transformation, responsibility and designing a life in harmony with one’s inner and outer world. When did you first realise you had this intuitive ability to read people and situations, and what led you to develop it professionally?

32 |

|

THE NEW-AGE ASIAN MAGAZINE

It developed gradually. I noticed I could sense emotional patterns and energies in people and situations quite naturally. Initially, I saw it as observation rather than intuition. As I studied astrology and related sciences, I realised this instinct was strengthening my understanding. The turning point came when people began validating my insights. That encouraged me to refine it professionally through study, practice, and structured learning, eventually shaping it into a full-time path. In today’s world, many people are seeking clarity and direction. How can astro sciences serve as a grounding tool rather than something people become dependent on? Astro sciences should act as a mirror, not a crutch. They are meant to provide perspective, not control decisions. When used correctly, they empower awareness and responsibility. I always say—stars guide, they do not command. Grounding comes when people use this knowledge to understand themselves better and take conscious action. Dependence begins when external validation replaces self-trust. My approach is always to build that self-trust. You’ve led sessions on manifesting success. How do you guide people to distinguish between true manifestation and wishful thinking in a practical way? True manifestation is rooted in clarity, alignment, and action. Wishful thinking is passive. I guide people to first define what they truly want

and why. Then comes alignment—thoughts, emotions and energy must match the intention. Most importantly, action is non-negotiable. Without consistent effort, manifestation remains an idea. It is about consciously creating pathways over time, not expecting instant outcomes.

I use intuitive insights to understand emotional context. It is a dialogue, not a one-sided reading. I listen, ask questions, and then offer practical guidance. The focus is always clarity, empowerment, and actionable direction.

You often speak about energy alignment and intention — how can individuals practically incorporate this into their daily routines? Energy alignment begins with awareness. Simple practices like mindful breathing, setting daily intentions, and keeping your environment clear can shift energy significantly. Starting the day with clarity—what you want to feel or achieve—makes a difference. Gratitude, journaling, and mindful communication help maintain balance. It is not about rituals, but consistency. When thoughts, emotions, and actions align, energy naturally follows.

Many high-achievers seek guidance today — what are the most common blocks you see in successful individuals? High achievers often struggle with clarity and emotional balance rather than capability. Common blocks include overthinking, fear of wrong decisions, and emotional disconnect despite external success. Many are driven but not aligned with inner purpose, which creates restlessness. My work is to help them reconnect with their inner compass and simplify decision-making.

In a fast-moving, urban lifestyle, how can individuals realistically apply astrology and vastu in their everyday environment? The key is simplicity. Astrology can help in understanding personal cycles and timing decisions better. Vastu can be applied through small changes— clean spaces, proper light, ventilation, and balanced energy flow. Even mindful placement of objects can shift the energy of a space. It does not require drastic changes. The idea is to integrate these principles subtly so they enhance daily life, not complicate it. How is the perception of astrology evolving, especially among younger audiences, and how do you address skepticism? There is a visible shift, especially among younger audiences in India and globally. They are more open, but also more questioning—which is healthy. Astrology is no longer seen purely as belief; it is being explored as a structured and psychological system. I welcome skepticism. I present astrology in a logical, practical way, linking it to real experiences. When explained clearly, it becomes a tool for awareness rather than blind faith. What does a typical consultation with you look like? A session begins with understanding the client’s concern. I study their birth chart to identify patterns, strengths, and challenges. Alongside this,

33 |

|

THE NEW-AGE ASIAN MAGAZINE

Beyond guidance, what is the deeper purpose that drives your work today? My purpose is to create awareness and enable transformation. When people understand themselves better, they make more conscious choices, which positively impacts their lives. I aim to bridge Indian ancient wisdom with modern living in a way that empowers rather than creates dependency. Moving from confusion to clarity, and from dependence to self-trust, is at the heart of my work. What is your long-term aspiration for your work and impact? My long-term vision is to make these sciences more accessible and practical as tools for self-growth. I want to create a platform where Indian ancient wisdom and modern thinking come together. On a larger scale, I hope to contribute to a more conscious society where people trust themselves and live with awareness. If my work can help even a small shift towards clarity and alignment, that is the legacy I hope to build. Dr. Jai Madaan’s approach reflects a growing shift in how ancient sciences are understood today—not as rigid systems of prediction, but as tools for awareness, alignment and personal empowerment. By translating metaphysical concepts into grounded, everyday guidance, she continues to bridge tradition and modern life, helping individuals move from uncertainty to clarity, and from dependence to self-trust, in an increasingly complex world.

RUSTAM TIWARI says:

Dalhousie’s winters become particularly magical at The Chestnut Grove thanks to one of its standout features: a state of the art hydronic underfloor heating system. Rarely found in Indian mountain retreats, the gentle warmth creates a cocoon like atmosphere throughout the villa, allowing guests to enjoy snowfall and icy mountain mornings in complete comfort. Speaking about the emotional inspiration behind the design, GAURI KHAN shares: “Growing up in a large joint family, I was always surrounded by people—celebrations were constant, and our home was a natural gathering space. That sense of togetherness stayed with me and became the core inspiration behind The Chestnut Grove. I wanted to create a home where guests don’t feel confined to separate corners, but can truly experience shared moments across every space. Whether it’s the dining area, the main drawing room, the bar, the play area, or even the outdoor decks and gardens, each zone has been thoughtfully designed to bring everyone together—comfortably, effortlessly, and beautifully. Developed through decades of research and practice in spatial energy and astrology, her work explores how homes and buildings carry their own energetic blueprint that influences wellbeing, prosperity and emotional balance. By reading spaces through an astrological lens, she creates personalised environments that support the lives unfolding within them. Her approach brings together intuition, design and energetic science in a distinctive way. Neeta Sinha works with clients across India and globally through in-person and online consultations, bringing a grounded, approachable and deeply attentive presence to her practice that makes her guidance feel both personal and accessible.

I

n conversation with Aspire: The New Age Asian Magazine in London-she reflects on her journey, practice and evolving vision for AstroArchitecture™: WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CREATE ASTROARCHITECTURE™? When I started practising Vastu along with my guru, Dr. LN Kusuma, we were unsatisfied with the kind of results we were getting with Vastu’s limitations of directionbased energy flow. One of the primary questions we sought to answer was: “When the Vastu or layout of all the flats in a highrise building is the same, why do they give different results to different individuals?”

What we discovered was that every house has a horoscope with different energy pockets, leading to the birth of the unique science of AstroArchitecture™. Here, the name of an individual or company and the kind of work they do directly affect these energy pockets, which, in turn, affect one’s life and growth. HOW DO YOU READ THE ENERGY OF A SPACE WHEN YOU FIRST ENTER IT? What many don’t realise is that the spaces we live and work in constantly interact with our energy fields, continuously shaping our lives. I treat any space like a living entity, not just bricks and walls, and then create an energy map and horoscope with nine positive

and three negative sectors, each influencing different aspects of life, either enhancing or hindering areas such as health, career, prosperity and relationships. For instance, if a bed is positioned in an allergyprone zone, the occupant may suffer from respiratory or allergic issues. Similarly, the energy dynamics of a home can influence marriage harmony, fertility and the wellbeing of children. Once I assess a property’s energy chart, I implement simple non-invasive corrective measures like strategic mirror placements, plants or colour adjustments to transform its impact from negative to positive. WHAT ROLE DOES ASTROLOGY PLAY IN YOUR DESIGN PROCESS? In simple words, AstroArchitecture™ is simply reading a home, similar to reading a person’s birth chart. I merge astrology and architecture to understand the energy blueprint of space. However, when I say astrology, it doesn’t mean planetary astrology, it means creating a horoscope of the premises, similar to a birth chart, but with 12 energy pockets, and created using measurements or dimensions of the property. Every apartment, commercial building, hospital, industry, etc., carries its own vibrations depending on the persons using it. That is the reason I have realised that even identical apartments and spaces behave differently with different people. My approach is rooted in intuition, empathy and experience. And believe me, you don’t need a large mansion to live in harmony; even a small apartment can radiate positivity. Energy isn’t about square footage; it’s about coherence and flow. CAN YOU SHARE A TRANSFORMATION YOU HAVE SEEN THROUGH YOUR WORK? Let me share a small incident. A woman diagnosed with an acute form of leukaemia was given just six months to live. When I was consulted, I studied her home and identified a serious imbalance in the health sector. After corrective measures were made, within just 15 days, she found a compatible bone marrow match, underwent a successful transplant, and went on to live many healthy

years. Similarly, the Grand Hyatt Mumbai was stalled for years during construction due to legal challenges, leading to financial and operational stress. After targeted interventions by me to correct the property’s energy dynamics, the project was completed successfully and today stands as one of Hyatt’s most successful properties. One important insight I always share is that while we may not be able to change a person’s destiny, we can influence the energies around them in my view to help enhance the impact of positive energies, while greatly reducing the impact of negative ones. WHAT IS YOUR LONG-TERM VISION FOR ASTROARCHITECTURE™? The larger purpose of work evolves with time, shaped by changing needs, but my core purpose will always remain constant: to harmonise individual energy with the energy of living and working spaces. My work is anchored in social responsibility, as clients place deep trust in me to help resolve challenges and enhance their quality of life. Establishing scientific credibility for a discipline bridging ancient wisdom and modern thought requires resilience, patience and intellectual rigour. I overcame this through consistent results and unwavering integrity. And I hope AstroArchitecture™ is recognised as a specialised, scientific and intuitive area of expertise that changes the way people think about space, alignment and energy. I aspire to be remembered as someone who built knowledge around this field and empowered my children to use it ethically. Neeta Sinha brings her new perspective to architecture where space energy and human energy are deeply interconnected. Her AstroArchitecture™ practice offers a personalised way of understanding how environments shape human experience. By blending astrology with spatial awareness, she creates a framework for conscious living. Her work continues to expand conversations around aligned spaces and their impact on transformation and balance. She is a celebrated Astroarchitect whose clientele spans leading figures from Bollywood, business houses and luxury design circles. Her work philosophy is rooted in conscious living, she says. Neeta believes that when space is aligned, life begins to flow with greater ease and clarity.
