I fondly recall Satya’s spirited approach to life, where she balanced her academic pursuits with the simple joys of childhood. For example, her insistence on playing Holi the day before a crucial examination, with her unwavering confidence as a child, showed her unique blend of determination and joy which is rare at that age.

Music has always been a soothing refuge for Satya, echoing the melody of her inner spirit. Her love for music reflects her deep understanding of harmony in both life and business, infusing every challenge she faces with a symphony of resilience and grace.

As her mother, my heart swells with pride at Satya’s integrity and resolve. In the face of personal loss and professional challenges, she has remained steadfast in her pursuit of excellence, guided by the gentle rhythm of her inner melody. My advice to her has always been to embrace life’s trials as opportunities for growth, to meet obstacles with determination, and to never lose sight of the music that fills her soul.

While most of my upbringing was under the loving care of my maternal grandparents, her presence in my life has always been profound.

Despite facing numerous challenges along the way, my mother never allowed them to dim her spirit. As her elder son, what concerns me the most is her gentle nature, fearing that some may try to take advantage of her kindness. However, she has remained our rock, providing support both financially and emotionally through every twist and turn of life.

Her warmth and generosity know no bounds, and her love for us is unwavering. Dr. Satya is not just a mother to me; she’s a guiding light, an endless source of inspiration, and a pillar of unwavering support. Meeting Satya as a fair plump girl with two ponytails and golden hoops back in 7th grade in IIT Powai, where her dad was a professor and my dad was director of NITIE marked the beginning of a friendship that has woven its threads through the fabric of my life ever since. For me, she was always humming ABBA songs. From our humble beginnings in a Mumbai school to navigating the complexities of adulthood together, Satya has been my constant companion, confidante, and source of inspiration.
