PRIME The cattle market is full of calves that grade out select or choice, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But we are looking for that prime grade, and its in short supply. Prime, every time, is what we strive for... it’s in our DNA. But it’s also about helping our fellow cattlemen get the most out of their herd, and we feel we can have a strong influence in doing that. Our calf buyback program will be the force behind that along with our herd genetics setting precedence (SEE PAGE 4). We have a market for the top choice and prime carcasses, problem is we can’t produce enough of them to keep up with demand. We validate our products in our stores and restaurants everyday and want to help our neighbors benefit from that as well. Neighbor helping neighbor to be successful in the cattle business is what we are all about at B&B Angus Cattle.

Fellow Cattlemen and Women, We are so glad and excited to see all of ya’ll again, to talk cattle over the phone, find out how everyone is doing and meeting new cattle breeders for the first time. We are excited to be in the black Angus cattle business, even with drought, wildfires and NWS, we are blessed to be in the cattle business. Just like ya’ll, we do this because we love it. Our mission here at B&B Angus is “Building Better Beef ”. It’s what we do, selecting females and then mating them to produce breeding bulls for the commercial cattleman and the registered black Angus breeder. These females we are offering this year will be bred to produce calves that grade prime, that’s our market! We sell black Angus beef in our B&B Meat Markets and Steakhouse, so they need to gain in the feed yard efficiently and GRADE PRIME! Feeding our own calves and our bull customers’ calves has really helped us gain the experience and appreciation for the black Angus genetics we produce. Our last set of bulls in the feed yard have a cost of gain at .82 per pound, and a feed conversion rate of 6.47 pounds of feed per pound of gain on an all-natural ration of silage, hay and grain. Our average daily gain on that set of breeding bulls was 4.13 pounds a day on a low-ration diet to a pound of gain. We develop these bulls and females on a controlled natural diet to maximize their genetics and the overall health of these breeding cattle. They are not fat, they are in good flesh, ready to go on your pasture and work in your program. We have worked on our development program for the last 4 years with Joel Hopper at Outpost 76 in Sulphur Springs, TX and we know our development program works in Texas and as we ship cattle across the United States, we are finding out it works for them as well! We have many friends who are using this information to their advantage in their own programs. Outpost 76 information is in our sale program catalog, or you can talk to Chris or myself for more information. Neighbor helping neighbor to be successful in the cattle business is what we are about. We feed and retain our feeder calves in an all-natural feeding program. We are dependent on our genetics for our cattle growth, carcass weight, red muscle meat and feed gain performance. You can offset genetically poor performing cattle with gain enhancement hormones and added steroid feeding programs to help their feed gain, carcass weights and feed efficiency. We cannot. Our customers, and my daughter Elizabeth, don’t want to feed that to their children or our grandchildren. Our society today understands that our diet has a lot to do with our overall health. Our daughter Elizabeth was a nurse practitioner seeing patients in a clinic before she decided to make a career change and get into the meat market and restaurant business. She has gained new skills as a butcher and an employer. She has developed a following who appreciates her menu of gluten free recipes, she has customers who drive regularly over an hour and a half to enjoy chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken or fried catfish. Her chicken fried steak is the best CFS in Kaufman County! We hand cut steaks and our steaks are aged 21 - 30 days and all sides are made from scratch daily. She can talk about the table flair of what we do! She can tell you about a denver steak, McKinney steak or that picanha cut. She is as passionate about the cattle we breed, sell and harvest as her brother Chris is about the bulls he raises and sells. As the two of them and their families continue to invest in the beef cattle industry, we will continue to raise, sell and harvest great black Angus cattle. What we need: we need good feeder calves! If you use our bulls, we want to look at and hopefully buy your calves for our customers. We sell bulls private treaty here on our ranch. We strive to produce high marbling bulls that can do it all. For us, it is all about the steaks! We have worked hard to select cows and bulls that can maximize herd value. If you are going to raise cattle why not raise the best tasting beef in the world, and we believe it is a black Angus steak. Ribeye cut is my wife’s favorite steak and mine too! These black cattle are not only surviving here in 100 plus degree weather in Texas, they are thriving in our feeder program as well. Black Angus cattle that are bred in Texas, raised in Texas, fed in Texas, harvested in Texas and consumed here in Texas. But wait there is more... we have been asked by a lot of folks if we would ship steaks out of our area. Starting in November this year, we will make our beef available for shipping to your door. Don’t just raise a cow. Raise the best. B&B Angus Genetics are making it happen. Remember, neighbor helping neighbor to be successful in the cattle business is what we strive to be and do here at B&B Angus Cattle. What we believe: we believe in a loving Creator we call God! We believe this creator created all things with a spoken word as described in our Holy Bible that we call Gods Word. His word is truth with no error, we are told how Holy he is and how man chose to disobey the commands of a Holy God, and from that disobedience, sin entered into this world and every person born now has a sin problem and our sin has separated us forever from this Holy God. Because of Gods great love for us, God sends his son Jesus, and Jesus being fully man fully God lives a perfect life. He never sins in thought, word or deed so he could be an acceptable sacrifice for our sins taking our punishment by dying on a cruel cross. He who knew no sin was made sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). We learn in Ephesians 2 8&9 that it is by Gods grace we can have forgiveness of our sins through faith in Jesus’s death, burial and resurrection. There is nothing we can do on our own to repair our broken relationship. It is only through faith in Jesus and what he did for us that our relationship repairs and brings us into a wonderful relationship with this loving God. It is Gods desire that all men be saved through the knowledge of Jesus and what he did for us. For God so Loved mankind that he gave his only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in him would not perish but would receive eternal life. Gods desire is for us to have a never-ending relationship with him! He leaves it to us and our desire, we choose who we wish to worship and where we want to spend eternity. Our hope is you and your love ones have a wonderful relationship with a worthy God, for when I am not good enough, I know the one who is and his name is Jesus. Man, how we love Jesus!
