A PLACE OF

Heritage&History

From a rough frontier outpost into one of the most iconic centers of Western heritage in the United States, Fort Worth holds a special place in the heart of anyone involved in the cowboy way of life. Fueled by its strategic location along cattle trails, by the late 19th century, Fort Worth had earned the nickname “Cowtown” due to its role as a major stop on the legendary Chisholm Trail, where millions of cattle were driven north to railheads for shipment.

The city’s identity became deeply tied to the cattle industry and the broader culture of the American West. History shows us that cowboys, ranchers, and traders have always converged in Fort Worth, bringing with them the traditions, skills, and spirit that still define its character today. The historic Fort Worth Stockyards stands as a preserved reminder of that era, once bustling with livestock auctions, saloons, and rail transport. Daily cattle drives and rodeo events now recreate the atmosphere of the late 1800s, while honoring the grit and resilience of those who built the city’s reputation.

In the modern era, Fort Worth continues to celebrate its Western roots while evolving into a thriving cultural hub. Beyond the stockyards, you can visit the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, highlighting the often-overlooked contributions of women in shaping frontier life and Western heritage. Fort Worth balances its cowboy legacy with world-class museums, music, and cuisine, earning it the nickname “Where the West Begins.” This blend of preservation and progress keeps the spirit of the Old West alive, making Fort Worth a living bridge between the western way of life and future. Fort Worth is a favorite of ours, and we hope you can join us in it becoming a favorite of yours as well!
