At Rhodes Angus, cattle are more than a breed to us—they represent a philosophy about how angus cattle should function within a real production environment.

Both Red and Black Angus, when bred with intention, represent one of the most balanced and dualpurpose breeds of modern times. When the genetics are aligned correctly, the meat-to-bone ratio can be exceptional, yielding an outstanding end product while still maintaining the maternal traits that make a cow herd truly sustainable—fertility, longevity, and mothering ability.

In our opinion, part of the challenge facing the American cow-calf industry today is that we have spent many years selecting heavily for extreme calving ease and yearling weight. While these traits have value, the unintended consequence can be cattle that struggle with fertility, structural longevity, and feed efficiency in real grazing environments. Many of these performance metrics are measured in controlled feedlot conditions where dry matter intake is carefully managed, but most American cattle are asked to perform in far more variable prairie-based systems where forage conditions change constantly.

Our belief is simple: the long-term success of a cow herd should not be measured by a single calf crop or a single performance number. It should be measured in lactations, fertility, structural soundness, and the longevity of the cow herd. Rome was not built in a day, and meaningful genetic progress cannot be forced within one breeding season. Environment, nutrition, and management always play a role, and wise breeding programs respect that reality.

The cattle we strive to produce are fertile early, hormonally correct, athletic, and structurally sound. They must exhibit balanced phenotype, maternal instinct, and the ability to adapt to a wide range of environments. Above all, they must be functional cattle—animals that work for commercial producers and stand the test of time.

Stewardship of the land and animals is also central to what we do. Over the past few years we have continued to explore regenerative management practices within our grazing program. The results have been encouraging. This past season we did not need fly control, forage production on the ranch has doubled, cattle weights are stronger than ever, and the cows are maintaining better body condition. These outcomes reinforce our belief that healthy soil, diverse forage, and thoughtful grazing management can benefit both the land and the livestock that depend on it.

We also believe that our industry benefits when producers are willing to keep learning and challenge old assumptions. Regenerative and adaptive management practices are not about abandoning tradition—they are about ensuring that this way of life remains viable for the next generation of cattlemen and women.

To the families who invest in our cattle, our commitment is simple: we are here for you. Cattle production is never perfect. Bulls can get injured, weather can change plans, and unexpected things happen. When they do, we want to be a resource and a partner—not a stressful phone call. Our goal is to support the people who trust our genetics in their programs.

Above all, we recognize that none of this happens on our own. We believe that God is in control, and that many of the steps that led us here were taken by faith long before we fully understood the direction we were headed.

Looking ahead, our long-term vision is rooted in a simple idea: growth brings fulfillment. Perfection is always a moving target. As breeders, we believe our industry is strongest when we are honest about our cattle—their strengths as well as their limitations—and when we work together as a community to improve the breed.

RETAINED INTEREST

Rhodes Red Angus retains 1/3 semen interest and revenue sharing interest on every bull in the sale.

GUARANTEE

All of the bulls in this offering are guaranteed to pass a fertility and health examination. In the event of a bull failing a semen test or being injured, a suitable replacement will be furnished if available. We encourage buyers to purchase livestock loss of use and mortality.

DELIVERY

We will begin delivering bulls right after the sale, with FREE NATIONWIDE DELIVERY, plus $100 per bull off if you take same day.

SUPPLEMENT SHEET

Scrotal measurements and current weights and gains will be available on sale day.

LIABILITY

All persons attending the sale do so at their own risk.

HEALTH PROTOCOL

We utilize an extensive preventive medicine/ vaccination program to ensure our herd has every opportunity to optimize performance, fertility, and overall herd health.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

The terms of the sale are cash and all settlements must be made at the close of the auction. All breeding animals are guaranteed in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the Red Angus Association of America.
