On behalf of our family and entire team here at Kempker Livestock we would like to thank you for taking the time to flip through the offering of the inaugural “Behind The Brand”. To see what started as a dinner date conversation between Emma and I a few years back come to life has been rewarding to say the least. I hope as you flip through the lots you see our drive and passion to push the needle and make livestock better.
As you study the catalog, you’ll hopefully notice that this wasn’t just a spur of the moment idea, but a strategic plan that has been in the works for a couple of years. We sold a very select number of our doe kids last year in order to keep a high end set to feed out for yearlings. Along with setting aside a few buck kids that are flush mates to some of our best wethers we sold last year. The breds were selected from previous success that have helped move our operation up the mountain.
I would like to make note that we aren’t just trying to offer any females, bucks or breds but stock that will go to work for their new owners. We take a lot of pride in seeing our stock make an impact at other firms across the country. Emma and I both feel the only thing more rewarding than seeing a family take an animal, put in the effort and find successes in the ring, is seeing other firms find that same success with the genetics that stem from our operation.
Additionally, we may not be an old staple to industry but feel our tenure in the business has been one built on customer relations and success at the highest of levels. It has been rewarding to push the envelope and try and make goats better. It has been a priority of ours to make goats sounder, more balanced and exotic looking without sacrificing power and dimension. We are extremely proud of the livestock that are created here in Pomona and are grateful to stand behind them. We like to do business the old-fashioned way of treating others the way you would like to be treated. That’s led to a long list of clients that we are blessed to get to do business with.
Furthermore, I would like to thank my family and the entire crew at the farm who make this program move in a positive direction each and every day. It isn’t always easy and it sure isn’t always fun. However, I would put the crew we have here at KL up against any in the entire country. I just wanted to sincerely thank them for their efforts and drive that has helped make Kempker Livestock one of the premier show goat operations in the country. A special thank you to our friends at Brunker Land Cattle for hosting this event while we are in the process of building our new sale facility!
