Call for Speakers

Share Your Knowledge and Innovations

Submit a presentation proposal (abstract) for inclusion in the 2024 Annual Convention program. ASC will host two short courses that will run concurrent with the convention. Session speakers for these courses are needed as well.

Criteria for Acceptance: All presentations should • Improved, new or novel material, approach or application of adhesives, sealants, and periphery technologies be non-commercial in • Abstracts with high level, technical or business development topics without commercial/promotional content nature. Use of trade is proposed; any abstracts that contain trade names in title, description or abstract will not be considered. names are NOT permitted. • All resulting presentations must be original, first time published, highlighting recent work. Speaking opportunities at ASC’s 2024 Annual Convention will be competitive. Abstracts are expected to clearly describe the advancements made and importance to industry, with high level technical content beyond common knowledge. All abstracts submitted are peer reviewed by ASC’s technical programming committee. The top-rated candidates will be invited to speak on or before January 16th.

Suggested topics to include: End User Technology Needs and Challenges This track will focus on packaging products (tapes, labels, graphics); transportation (EV, batteries, fuel cells); electronics; 1K and 2K structural adhesives in building and construction markets, biobased end user products and finished goods.

Biobased Materials: Novel Approaches & Challenges This track will focus on state-of-the-art technology for biosourced/novel processes for chemicals including monomers, solvents, and fillers for adhesive and sealant applications. This session will include processes such as ozonolysis, fermentation, and other recent pathways for sustainable feedstocks. Presentations covering current challenges in bringing biobased solutions to the market are welcome.

Manufacturing Technology This track will focus on very recent sustainability and performance advances in manufacturing processes.

Market Disruptors: Products & Technologies in the Forefront This track will focus on upcoming technologies, methods and products that are changing the landscape in adhesive and sealant applications. Topics of interest include 3D printing, current EV challenges, polyurethane adhesives in composites, and value chain dynamics affecting future formulators.

Smart Tools for Future – AI & Digitalization This track will focus on the recent application of AI and digitalization across technologies, from lab to manufacturing in adhesives and sealants. Of particular interest is market review of AI adoption globally, in market segments and papers illustrating challenges and pitfalls with company adoption of AI.

Sustainable Metrics & Methods This track will focus on sustainable practices adopted across various markets and chemistries, regulatory drivers towards these practices as well as mass balance & LCA.

Regulatory This track will focus on regulatory developments at the state and federal levels and the implications of global regulatory changes within the Americas.

New Product Introduction New Product Introduction tracks offers exhibiting companies the opportunity to present new products recently introduced with corresponding formulation and use data. Presentations should be grounded in presenters’ research experience. Promotional conversations are permissible; however, products or services may not be sold at the conference venue. There will be six slots available and confirmed on a first come, first serve basis.

Abstracts must be submitted online on or before Friday, December 15, 2023.
