Foreword

In a world, ruled by constant pressure, where your deeds have greater meaning to life than the person you are to be, it’s essential for children of God to make ourselves available to God, for His service. Thus, we ought to know that our identity in Christ is far more significant than our actions. Because when we know who we are in Christ, our deeds automatically align with that understanding.

Accordingly, this book primarily does not serve as a medium to transmit a set of skills or as a how-to-do-it-yourself book. This book serves as a spiritual surgery room by which certain traits that God’s end-time soldiers are made of, as in their personality, their mindsets, their heart postures and habits are developed through His word and spirit. If you feel God’s urgent call to serve the Lord and live as a devoted friend and servant of Jesus, I want to invite you; open your heart to be utterly transformed by God’s spirit and His word.

“O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!” (Jeremiah 18:6)

So, in this book, I will give you the ten most important lessons the Lord has taught me during the ten first successful years of my journey with him!

I strongly believe that the reason why the Lord took me on such an unusual path was not only to gain wisdom in my teenage years, but to enable a spiritual DNA for God’s

end-time soldiers through wisdom and knowledge from my experiences. And I believe you are one of them!

My walk with Jesus started when I was fifteen years old. Before I turned sixteen, God had established an organization. It expanded internationally in just three years and today and today it has become an apostolic network with its headquarters located in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Ever since, I have led hundreds of people to Christ, witnessing countless healings and miracles throughout my ministry. I have discipled many people of whom a considerable amount of people are positioned in leadership positions in the body of Christ and society, several went on to start their own ministries. Besides, I have released songs and got married. Without a doubt, all of this was merely possible by the grace and faithfulness of God! So, saying all of this, I want to make the following point:

Biblically speaking, in every generation God raises people and takes them through different generations through unusual paths in life, using their stories to spiritually transfer a DNA of Jesus, the head of the church, to their generation. Yet, this period was not only adorned with moments of success, but also of deep pain and sorrow, disappointment and betrayal, mental battles and even more – but of all this eventually to the glory of God!

… that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises (Hebrews 6:12).

Look to Abraham your father [your brother Elvis in this case], and to Sarah who bore you; for I called him alone, and blessed him and increased him (Isaiah 51:2; own insertion).

INTRODUCTION

A soldier’s DNA

Several months ago, I watched a documentary about the police force in Germany and I remembered how demanding it is to apply for the training process of that profession. People mostly failed the sports exam. The official application papers said: “The profession as a police officer might be physically as well as mentally very demanding. Spending eight hours on patrol can be burdensome, and a usual workday can immediately turn into a serious matter, requiring one to be alert and highly concentrated. For that reason, we are in need of applicants who are physically fit and who constantly make sure to maintain their health.”

Hearing this, I realized that there are some people who cannot become a police officer due to their genetic predisposition. Either they are too small, not fit enough or physically limited due to sickness. This is a result of their DNA. The DNA contains genetic information of human beings and is the blueprint of an individual. DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid. Therefore, we can conclude that certain tasks, responsibilities and positions in every society require a certain DNA.

There are specific requirements to become a police officer. To become part of the special unit of the federal police, there

are greater demands and to enlist into the army, there are more challenging requests. The reason for such a selection process and high standards is neither discrimination nor unnecessary elitism. Rather, to establish the security of people whilst also ensuring that laws, rules and norms of the government are kept, that is why they are called guardians of the law.

Is it possible that in the kingdom of God – an invisible government on earth, giving expression to God’s heavenly will – there must be an army of trained soldiers? And that these soldiers need to have a particular DNA, spiritually speaking in regard to their philosophy about life and the wisdom they make use of in their lives, families, ministries and careers?

God’s word, the Bible, teaches us in Isaiah 60:2,

For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.

We learn from this Bible passage that darkness covers the earth and the people (the nations and different groups within society). In other words, man, industries, cities and social groups (poor and rich) are being tormented and sometimes even governed by invisible powers of darkness – listed in Ephesians 6:12. These powers have made it their task to steal, kill and destroy by all possible means (see John 10:10).

For that exact reason, all sons of God who Jesus called the light of the world according to Matthew 5:14, are involved in a spiritual battle (not a battle against man!) aiming to bring the kingdom of God into all sectors of society which are:

religion

family education

government, politics media

art, sports and entertainment

economy

Many citizens in God’s Kingdom, i.e. many new-born believers and followers of Christ, desire to serve God as soldiers based on their love for Jesus and want to fulfill their calling on earth. Now the important question is: Who or what do I have to be for God to fully make use of me in this endtime? Or in other words: Which spiritual and mental DNA do I need for such a calling? The good thing about God’s army is that God has predestined every single citizen of His kingdom, which means all His children, to become soldiers of light. This means that you do not have to come from a special family or have a list of plenty of good deeds before God can use you as His vessel. You can attain the required DNA! Thus, in the operating room of God that DNA can be produced with the help of the Holy Spirit and discipleship, even though you have not been born with certain qualities or taught certain disciplines. My ten most important lessons from ten years of walking with Jesus will help you with that.

CHAPTER 1

Driven by eternity

… but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18 b).

Everyone is driven by something, it may be good or bad, leading to a certain goal or leading us astray.

God designed life in a way that man is consciously or unconsciously, constantly influenced by a spirit. Just as a car cannot drive without being powered by an engine, so man cannot move forward without a drive. However, the interesting thing is that man is always in motion! Time never stops just as the earth never stops rotating. In other words, even someone who is lazy, slow and unproductive in life, is moving in life. This person ’ s life is fueled by the spirit of laziness causing him to move in an unfavorable direction.

There is the following question I would like to ask you: what drives you in life? Craig Groeschel, an American leadership expert, author and pastor, frequently states in his podcasts: “Your life will always move in the direction of your strongest thoughts.”

As a devout Christian, we love to claim that our lives are solely directed by God and His Word. But when we take a deep look at our lives, we have to admit that our daily deci-

sions and thoughts may for the most part be driven by anxiety and hunger for social validation, or money. What drives you determines your life. When, for example, a farmer drives his cattle, he is the one deciding in which direction the cattle go. So, what should be our drive as followers of Christ and God’s end-time soldiers? I will give you two Bible verses as an answer:

1. Your love for God

For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died (2 Corinthians 5:14).

2. Eternity

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth (Hebrews 11:13).

If you adopt these, they will firstly purify your intentions and secondly change your perspective on life. When someone understands that his life is a ministry of love unto his king, he will check the intentions of his heart regularly to make sure that his thoughts and actions remain fueled by love alone.

Additionally, your view and perspective on life alters (1 John 3:3) as you realize that after this life, you will experience another form of existence and judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Every single man will inevitably spend eternity either in heaven or in hell, according to their faith (Ephesians 2:89) and decisions they make. They will be rewarded or punished for their work (Revelations 22:12). A soldier of God should never lose sight of this truth.
