Understanding the needs of your chickens ... A laying hen eats about 100-140 grams of chicken feed and drinks about 40 ml of fresh water a day. Producing eggs requires a sufficient intake of digestible minerals (10-20 grams per day). Chickens do not chew and have to grind grains in their gizzards by eating small stones and grit. The quality of the food they eat reflects the quality of the eggs they produce (logically).

Every year, chickens go through a moulting phase and renew their feathers - this is a stressful period during which they are more susceptible to diseases. For small breed puppies and young dogs, but also for large breed puppies and young dogs and for puppies and young dogs who require something extra such as grain-free or who have a tendency to have digestive problems. All puppies and young dogs have a lot to learn. To support puppies in their learning process, HobbyFirst Canex Puppy-Junior products contain an optimal ratio of Omega 3/6 fatty acids. The Omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA not only promote learning ability, but also strengthen the natural resistance and care for the skin. The Omega 3 fatty acids come from dried Antarctic krill. We speak of a large breed when a dog, as an adult, weighs more than 25 kg. For these breeds, it is important to adjust the food from puppyhood accordingly. The products specially designed for large breeds contain a reduced calcium content and an increased protein content for a good build-up of muscle mass in connection with a balanced skeletal development. In addition, the energy content is higher to keep the pups in optimal condition during growth. The chunk size of the Maxi products is also larger than that of the regular products. For puppies and young dogs who need a little extra from their food, there are two products; Puppy-Junior Grainfree, which is only available in the regular size for small and medium sized breed puppies and Puppy-Junior High in Fish & Rice, which is available in both regular and Maxi size for large breed puppies. The HobbyFirst Canex Puppy-Junior Grainfree is an extruded chunk and specially developed for puppies in their first growth phase, from 4 weeks onwards. Is the puppy (probably) hypersensitive to grains, does it have a tendency towards digestive problems and/or a sensitive skin and coat? Then we recommend feeding the puppy HobbyFirst Canex Puppy-Junior Grainfree. This product is based on a grain-free recipe and is hypoallergenic. Hypoallergenic means that 'special' sources of protein have been used as ingredients. HobbyFirst Canex Puppy-Junior Grainfree is free from the protein sources beef, pork and chicken. Fresh duck and dried duck are used as animal protein sources in the Grainfree. The HobbyFirst Canex Puppy-Junior High in Fish & Rice and High in Fish & Rice Maxi use ocean fish as the main protein source. They are gluten-free and largely hypoallergenic, this product being free from the protein sources beef and pork, but not chicken. They are a very good precursor to the Fish & Rice products for adult dogs. Hydrolysed chicken proteins are used in Puppy-Junior Grainfree, Puppy-Junior High in Fish & Rice and Puppy-Junior High in Fish & Rice Maxi. Hydrolysed means that the proteins are cut into pieces to form loose amino acids. These loose amino acids are no longer recognised by the body as proteins and therefore do not cause any allergic reactions. The fact that this product comes from chicken no longer has any influence.

Linamix® is a grain-free "top-feeding" which means that it is fed on top of the regular ration.
