Creating original works in her treetop studio on the Mornington Peninsula, Georgie Wilson is an abstract Australian artist inspired by the beach, foliage, sky and everything summer. For Georgie, making art is a means of being expressive, not through wild gestures and splashes of paint, but through ordered layers and careful planning. There’s also a bit of graffiti and tattoo inspo that sneaks into her work, and she includes a teeny bit of rattan in every piece as an ode to her grandma.
In her latest series this rattan element takes centre stage.
