The oldest art fair in Europe, founded in 1956, celebrates its 72nd edition. Recognised as one of the world’s top five art fairs, this annual event, held in the last week of January, is the first unmissable highlight of the art calendar. BRAFA inspires and sparks dreams among over 70,000 art lovers, collectors, museum directors, curators, artists, interior designers, art advisors, and visitors from around the world.

An exceptional showcase of more than 20 specialities from archaeology to design and contemporary art covering Classical Antiquities, Old Masters, modern and contemporary painting, silverware, jewellery, furniture, sculpture and works of art from the Middle Ages to the 21st century, glass and ceramics, classical African and Oceanic art, Asian art, Pre-Columbian art, antique frames, icons, drawings and engravings, antique and modern books, original comic art, autographed letters and manuscripts, photography, tapestries, carpets and textiles…

AUTHENTICITY A guarantee of confident buying: the authenticity and condition of each artwork on display are carefully examined by 90 international experts over two days prior to the opening. Conducted with great rigour, the vetting is supported by a scientific laboratory.

ELEGANCE A warm and elegant scenography magnifies each year the Fair’s 21,200 m² exhibition space at Brussels Expo. Yet the event retains a human-scale, allowing visitors to explore it in just a few hours and pick up their favourite artworks.

Throughout the year, our team and exhibitors work with dedication and passion to create far more than an art fair. BRAFA is the result of a shared commitment to preserving beauty, encouraging discovery and creating meaningful encounters between works of art, collectors, experts and visitors.

In a world that moves ever faster, art still invites us to slow down. It rewards those who take the time to look carefully, to question, to compare and to learn. Quality cannot be rushed, nor can discovery. This belief has guided BRAFA for over seventy years and continues to shape its identity today. BRAFA 2027 will bring together more than 150 exceptional exhibitors, combining long-standing participants with promising newcomers. Behind every stand lie months – often years – of research, acquisition, conservation and scholarship. The galleries at BRAFA do more than present works of art: they share expertise, preserve heritage and invite visitors to discover remarkable objects spanning more than five millennia. GUEST OF HONOUR �� Ixelles Museum After several years of renovation and expansion, Ixelles Museum will reopen its doors from 19 to 21 March 2027 with a festive weekend open to everyone.

As Guest of Honour at BRAFA 2027, Ixelles Museum is particularly happy and honoured to take part in this special occasion. It is a unique opportunity to celebrate a shared passion for art and heritage, the diversity of artistic expressions and dialogue between periods and cultures — all dimensions at the heart of the museum’s collection.

With nearly 15,000 works of art, the museum holds one of the major collections dedicated to Belgian art, from the 19th century to the present day. Paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, posters, photographs, videos and installations come together to form a vast panorama of artistic creation, spanning more than two centuries of aesthetic experimentation. 5

Through the works in its collection, the museum explores the enduring notion of artistic modernity, the diversity of sensibilities that have shaped the country, and the constant exchanges between the Belgian art scene and major international movements. This narrative unfolds within a broader perspective, enriched by European collections of ancient and modern art that are woven throughout the visitor journey, offering points of dialogue between artistic traditions and the innovations that have shaped the history of art.

For its inaugural season, Ixelles Museum invites visitors to rediscover this rich heritage through a programme that brings together the presentation of the collection, thematic exhibitions and works by contemporary artists. Conceived as a space for encounters between heritage and living artistic creation, the season allows artworks to resonate with the aesthetic and societal issues of our time.

Among the highlights is a presentation of contemporary art acquisitions made in recent years, reflecting the museum’s commitment to developing its collection and identity in the present while remaining true to its history.

William Kentridge I am not me, the horse is not mine 18 Sep 2026 – 07 Mar 2027 William Kentridge (Johannesburg, 1955) began his career during the struggle against apartheid in South Africa, and his work remains socially, politically and poetically engaged. His practice includes drawings, animated films, sculptures, prints, installations and videos, often linked to his theatre and opera productions. His solo exhibition at Bozar revisits his work from the early 1980s to the present day, with a special focus on major stage projects. Highlighting the performative and collaborative nature of his art, the exhibition includes site-specific works and a multidisciplinary programme. Kentridge has a longstanding connection with Brussels, where his first opera premiered in 1995 and Bozar presented his first European solo exhibition in 1998. 28
