Artist Plastic Colombiana
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Fernández studied fashion design at the Marangoni Institute in Italy; drawing in the workshop of master David Manzur; painting, drawing and color theory with the master Miguel Moyano.
Fernández's work proposes, through drawing and painting, reflections on the interaction of the human being with his environment and his peers, resorting to everyday themes and evoking perceptions and feelings of the individual in the face of his reality.
She has participated and has been recognized for her work in numerous exhibitions in Colombia and abroad.
Fernández currently lives and works in Bogotá.
The elements embody a distilled essence of the matter that forms our known universe. Throughout history, they have served as a lens— spiritual, philosophical, and practical through which humanity has attempted to define the world as we perceive it. In the paintings of this series, I also take the elements as a point of departure, interpreting earth, water, air, and fire through form and color to construct another universe: one that springs from imagination, where each human being becomes their own demiurge. For me, the canvas—just as in the rest of my work becomes the ideal matter from which this imaginary universe unfolds. It is a realm filled with suggestion and evocation, born from my own life story and allowing me to continue shaping that story through an artistic journey toward the future.
