Clima presents in Milan A Body for Your Thoughts, a solo exhibition by Dana Lok, in which painting and drawing explore the unstable zone between thought, language, and the biological body. Language appears as a network of traces and sonic channels in constant motion, while thought emerges as an aggregation of particles that temporarily condense into meaning. Mental images evoke organic processes, similar to breathing and the circuits of the cerebral cortex. The artist attempts to capture language before it stabilizes, dismantling the mechanisms of thought while recognizing that any analysis risks dissolving its complexity. The works function as partial models of the mind: they simplify intricate systems, while painting exceeds representation through matter and texture. Between control and surrender, project and gesture, the work moves like an organism in transformation, reopening thought as a living system.

Le Alchimiste is Anselm Kiefer’s major new exhibition at Palazzo Reale, curated by Gabriella Belli and included in the Milano Cortina 2026 cultural programme. From 7 February to 27 September 2026, the Sala delle Cariatidi hosts over forty large-scale canvases in dialogue with the space’s wounded beauty, marked by the 1943 bombing. The project, initiated in 2023, revolves around the connection with Milan and with Caterina Sforza, a scientist and alchemist, around whom Kiefer builds a constellation of visionary, mystical, and intellectual women often erased from history. From Isabella Cortese to Marie Meudrac, from Maria the Jewess to Mary Anne Atwood, a female pantheon emerges that moves between myth and memory. In the artist’s dense, material, and symbolic painting, these figures regain presence and voice, reaffirming the role of alchemists in the emergence of modern scientific thought and transforming history into an ongoing process of regeneration.
Performance
Francesco Clemente: In Between at Triennale Milano (29 May–6 September 2026), curated by Francesca Pietropaolo with Robert Storr, presents a major retrospective spanning the artist’s work from the 1970s to today. The exhibition brings together around 70 works from public and private collections and the artist’s studio, tracing over five decades of practice across painting, watercolour, pastel, fresco, and artist’s books. It highlights Clemente’s ongoing exploration of identity, body, sexuality, spirituality, and transformation. At its core is the idea of the “in-between” as a fluid threshold where inner and outer worlds, cultures, and temporalities intersect. Drawing on Western mysticism, Eastern philosophies, and Afro-Brazilian syncretism, Clemente develops a hybrid, cosmopolitan visual language. Structured in a loosely chronological path, the exhibition includes key self-portraits, landmark works, and collaborations with Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol, reaffirming painting as a space of continuous metamorphosis.
