Thousands from around the world head to the Valley to view, bid, and enjoy the energy of the auctions. Whether you’re a serious collector or just an auto enthusiast, these events will get your engines revving.
Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, is gearing up for another extraordinary Scottsdale Auction. The signature automotive lifestyle event, which draws auto enthusiasts from around the world, returns Jan. 17-25 at WestWorld of Scottsdale. Over 1,800 collectible vehicles, including supercars, Resto-Mods, customs and classics, will cross the block with No Reserve. There are also hundreds of exhibitors, dozens of dining options, Thrill Rides and Dirt Rides with professional drivers from top manufacturers, and unique VIP experiences. The event kicks off with the 3rd Annual Rock The Block concert on Jan. 16. Country superstar Cole Swindell headlines, with singer-songwriter Chase Rice also performing. Coca-Cola Family Day, where all guests can get an up-close look at the auction vehicles before they cross the auction block, and STEMfest, presented by Honeywell, which showcases more than two dozen STEM exhibitors with interactive displays from Honeywell and other companies from around the Valley. Other events include The Barrett-Jackson Cup competition, held Jan. 17-24. With a $20,000 cash purse and other prizes, 50 world-class custom car builders from around the country will vie for the top slot: Ultimate Best In Show. The nine-day event also features a vast Exhibitor Marketplace, presented by Swisstrax; Thrill Rides with Dodge and Toyota on the Barrett-Jackson Performance Track; and adrenaline-pumping off-road Dirt Rides with Toyota. There will be live music performances from local favorites and a variety of indoor and outdoor dining offerings. “Over the last 50 years, Barrett-Jackson has earned the right to say that we are ‘The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions’,” says Steve Davis, president of BarrettJackson. “The contributions we’ve made to grow the collector car hobby is something we are all proud of. ARIZONA CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE This unique event returns for its eighth year on Jan. 18 and features 100 rare and exceptional automobiles from around the world, showcased in an atmosphere of a stylish garden party. The event is held at Scottsdale Civic Center, in partnership with Scottsdale Arts—the nonprofit organization providing artistic services to the city of Scottsdale—and is a professionally judged and curated assembly of rarely seen dream cars and high-value collector vehicles. The 2025 Best of Show Pre-War was awarded to a 1929 Duesenberg Model J Butterfly Dual Cowl Phaeton, owned by Valerie and Aaron Weiss, of San Marino, Calif., while the Best of Show Post-War was awarded to a 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster, owned by DJSKI, LLC of Phoenix. Since last year’s car show season cleared the track, a new fleet of restaurants has pulled up to the starting line, each revving with personality, precision, and plenty of horsepower on the plate.
SHIV SUPPER CLUB SHIV Supper Club is Scottsdale’s newest temple of indulgence, transforming fine dining into a fully immersive spectacle. The sprawling space feels like walking into a movie, with dramatic textures and sculptural elements hinting at the theatrics to come. The menu is an extravagant parade of creations, from truffle rolls to caviar-topped chicken nuggets and hamachi crudo with soy lime ponzu. Even steaks arrive with drama, including a flaming Tomahawk presented tableside. Today, the Musical Instrument Museum— affectionately called the MIM—is the only museum of its kind in the world, and boasts a collection of more than 7,500 instruments from more than 200 world countries. TOUR A MANSION BUILT BY A CHEWING GUM MAGNATE Perched atop a hill in Phoenix is Wrigley Mansion, built in 1932 by chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr. as a 50th anniversary gift to his wife. The views from the home are stunning, as is its architecture. The home changed hands several times, first sold by the Wrigley family in 1973. In 1992, it was purchased by the now-late Geordie Hormel and his wife, Jamie. Today, the restored mansion—which still features many original items—is a top finedining and special event venue. The multi-sensory art exhibition by London-based artists ScanLAB Projects is showcased at Desert Botanical Garden through May 10. It features five monumental video installations composed of thousands of high-resolution images, this transformative experience explores the pulse of the desert through photography, motion and sound to awaken a deeper appreciation of the desert. Creating it involved a team of highly-specialized photographers who recorded scans and photographs of 15 sites across the Valley for one year.
