Our NEW Run 250 Miles For America Challenge, presented by General Dynamics, opens the door for runners from across the country,
around the world, and at every experience level, giving everyone a chance to join the celebration with their best miles. Challenge participants will receive a commemorative coin in addition to their finisher medal, so don’t miss out! You’ll also experience improvements across the event that bring more ease, more excitement, and more runner focused details to your weekend. And this year, we’re building our biggest and most engaging expo yet, offering more vendors, more experiences, and more opportunities to connect before race day

With our Nation commemorating its 250th anniversary, we’re inviting every runner, walker, cyclist, swimmer, and mover of any kind to take part in something extraordinary This challenge is more than a fitness goal It’s a tribute to the endurance, resilience, and spirit that built this country. WHO: A Challenge for Every Runner & Every American!
Whether you’re a marathon veteran, a casual jogger, or someone who simply loves a good walk around the neighborhood, this challenge is designed for you. The goal is simple: complete 250 miles by the end of 2026 How you get there is entirely up to you Run the miles Walk them Bike them. Swim them. Mix and match. Move at your pace, on your schedule, in your way. This is a celebration of movement, freedom, and the uniquely American belief that every step counts, no matter how big or small
WHAT: A Challenge Open for ATM Runners
Thanks to the sponsorship of General Dynamics, the cost of joining the 250‑mile challenge has been reduced from $30 to just $5. That’s right, just five dollars to participate in a fun-filled, milestone‑marking, strength‑driven challenge that honors 250 years of American history. This price reduction reflects the heart of the event: inclusivity, accessibility, and the belief that everyone has the opportunity to participate. No barriers. No pressure. Just movement, community, and celebration.
A Commemorative Coin Worth Every Mile
Every participant who completes the challenge will receive a special commemorative coin created exclusively for the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. It’s more than a keepsake; it’s a symbol of your dedication, your journey, and your connection to a milestone moment in our nation’s history. These coins will be mailed to registered virtual challenge participants later this year, but if you’re planning to run the Army Ten-Miler, In-Person event, runners may pick up their coins after the finish line in the Hooah Tent Zone area. The coin is designed to be something you’ll treasure for decades. Imagine holding it in your hand and remembering the miles you logged, the days you pushed through, the times you laced up when you didn’t feel like it, and the pride you felt knowing you were part of something bigger. These miles are yours!
HOW: Start With the Army Ten-Miler, Then Go the Distance
To join the Run 250 miles for America challenge, presented by General Dynamics, participants must first register for the Army Ten-Miler race, either the In-Person Race or the Virtual edition. Once registered, you’ll have the option to add on the virtual challenge and begin logging your challenge-event miles. This structure keeps our community connected, allowing runners to upload their progress to the leaderboard and see the miles of others, together, as one.
If you haven’t registered for the 42nd Annual Army Ten-Miler yet, now is the perfect time. The race is more than an event; it’s a gathering of people who believe in pushing themselves, supporting one another, and celebrating the joy of movement. Whether you’re chasing a personal record or simply soaking in the atmosphere, you’ll be part of something meaningful.
Honor System Miles, We Trust the ATM Community
Participants will log miles using their Army Ten-Miler Runner Registration ID (R-######). The registration ID can be found in the ATM Race confirmation email; this is for both In-Person and Virtual Race participants. A special leaderboard is available for anyone who wants to track their progress or cheer on fellow participants See below for details
How to Complete the Challenge:
1 Register: Sign up for the in-person or virtual Army Ten-Miler and select the "Run 250 Miles For America Challenge" add-on
2. Complete 250 Miles – Run, Walk, Hike, Stroll, Jog, Bike at your own pace, indoors or outdoors, over time.
3 Submit: Report your completion online using the dedicated link by December 31, 2026 (This is an honor system).
4.Get Your Coin: Your commemorative coin will be mailed to you in or around October 2026.

Army Ten-Miler Youth Run Registration is open now! The Youth Run is a non-competitive race event for 12 years old and under. All runners get to experience the pride of completing an ATM Youth Run. Each registered runner receives a race bib, a t-shirt, and a medal. Youth Runner Packet is available only at the ATM Expo
The distance for the ATM Youth Run is: 400 meters Youth Run starts at 12 pm this year!
ATM Virtual Youth Run Registration:
The Virtual Youth Run is a non-competitive race event for 12 years old and under. All runners get to experience the pride of completing a virtual ATM Youth Run. Each registered runner receives a race bib, t-shirt and a medal. ATM Virtual Youth Run participants are not required to submit results, youth run results will not be scored nor evaluated by ATM.
