The star of the day is our exquisite traditional Christmas Day lunch served in our Lake View Dining Room.
Follow that up with mince pies and The King’s speech before heading out for a candlelit walk around our beautiful grounds.
In the evening, enjoy a luxury buffet – where you can also enjoy tales spun by a local storyteller.

BOXING DAY
This year, experience a different kind of Christmas Break.
Get out onto the fells with a guided fell walk, with a luxury packed lunch provided. Return and be greeted by hot mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies – or simply have a long lie in.
Subject to weather conditions, join us on the lawn where there will be a wonderful Bird of Prey demonstration from the Lake District Wildlife Park.
In the evening, sit down for a black tie dinner followed by a casino night with prizes to be won. The next morning it is sadly time to depart from our hotel having created new magical memories that you will treasure forever.

Awaken on New Year’s Eve with a choice: relax and dine luxuriously, or enjoy any of our fantastic activities that will be available throughout the day –from a Bird of Prey display to getting out amidst the fells for a walk. Warm up with mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies.
As the evening progresses, feast on your New Year’s Eve buffet and dance the night away with a disco and live music from the duo ‘Ritz’. At midnight watch Bassenthwaite Lake become illuminated by our beautiful, private firework display.
NEW YEARS DAY
Enjoy a New Year’s Day you will never forget. Relax all day long before sitting down to a black tie gala dinner. Afterwards, take part in our casino night where there are fabulous prizes for the taking.
Wind down your celebrations and return to your luxurious bedroom for your final night, ending your spectacular New Year’s break. This year, choose a more exclusive New Year experience.
For those of you who wish to stay at home for Christmas and New Year why not enjoy a two or three night mid festivity break?
The tariff is on a Bed and Breakfast basis. A range of activities are available to book such as clay pigeon shooting, archery, fell walking, and not forgetting the chance to indulge in our award winning spa.

• A £200 per person non refundable deposit is requested to secure all bookings. A proforma invoice will be forwarded and full payment is required by 1st December 2026. Should payment not be made by this date Armathwaite Hall reserve the right to release the booking for resale. All reservations made after 1st December 2026 must be paid in full at time of reservation
• Cancellation charges will be 100% within 28 days of arrival. Cancellation insurance details can be obtained from all insurance brokers and we strongly recommend this action in the unlikely event of you having to cancel.
