Regents Professor Hao Yan (center) — director of ASU’s Biodesign Center for Molecular Design and Biomimetics, one of Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business, and recognized by Stanford University as one of the top 2% of scientists in the world — is a pioneer in DNA nanotechnology. He is developing autonomous nanobots that can target and destroy tumors and other diseases in the body. The MIX Center facilities in downtown Mesa support the production of a wide variety of media — from blockbuster superhero movies to virtual reality video games — enabling students to gain the skills they need for a digital economy.

The newest addition is Planar virtual production technology, also available at the ASU California Center in LA. The technology was used in “The Mandalorian” and “Dune.” Because ASU is one of the only film schools offering this technology, faculty members are helping to set standards for teaching the method.

Concurrent degrees

You can earn two degrees in the same time it takes to earn one, expanding your knowledge and career options.

Accelerated bachelor’s and master’s degrees

You can opt to fast-track your studies by choosing either a 2.5- or 3-year path after admission to an accelerated program. Some programs offer an accelerated master’s option, enabling you to earn your bachelor’s and master’s degrees one year earlier by working toward both simultaneously.

Personalized graduate admission

Continue into an ASU graduate degree program with no need to apply or pay an application fee.

Minors and certificates

Taking classes outside your major through a minor or certificate program will enable you to become more well-rounded and boost your resume.

Semester lengths

Choose a traditional 15-week semester or a more concentrated 7.5-week session. Either way, the course content and credit you earn are the same.

Technology-enhanced learning

Active learning. Listen to class lectures online, then go to class to work on problem-solving in small groups.

Steps from the Fashion District and at the center of the nation’s film and television industry, the ASU California Center in downtown Los Angeles offers professional and academic opportunities for students. ASU London Centre for Advanced Learning, an independent, U.K.accredited institution, opens in fall 2026 and will be located in the heart of Islington, central London. ASU Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences conducts scientific analysis of the ocean to address critical global environmental issues and combines research with distinct teaching facilities to offer students hands-on learning opportunities.

Two ASU students take a polar plunge in Antarctica as part of a study abroad trip led by faculty in the Rob Walton College of Global Futures. The students also hiked a glacier and observed penguins. Students participate in study abroad trips to Antarctica during the winter each year.

Leaning on the mentorship of professors throughout her ASU experience, Cindy B. became the first in her family to complete college, graduating with a BSE in materials science and engineering. She is now a reticle manufacturing process engineer for Micron Technology.

After gaining experience at ASU as part of the Next Generation Service Corps — ASU’s character-based, leadership-driven service academy — Lorena A. was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives and was instrumental in helping secure funding for the Arizona Promise Program, which helps Arizona students pay for college.

Lina Washington started her ASU experience in the dance program, but switched her major to broadcast journalism toward the end of her first year. After spending time at news stations in Bakersfield and Sacramento, California, she came home to Phoenix and her dream job as a sports reporter and anchor at 12 News, the Valley’s NBC affiliate. Lina says the time she spent at ASU shaped who she is today: “I’m doing exactly what I envisioned when I was a student in the Cronkite School.”

Max Bregman is proof that with a supportive environment, good ideas and the drive to bring them to life, you can reach your goals and make a positive impact in the world.

As an ASU student, Max — a Flinn Scholar who majored in business data analytics and minored in real estate — challenged himself to make connections and explore opportunities. He founded a club for students dedicated to changing the world, joined ASU’s ultimate frisbee team, started a funded founders and investors club, and helped to create Culdesac — the nation’s first car-free neighborhood.

During his junior year at ASU, Max co-founded BreatheEV, a startup that now operates in 11 states and is revolutionizing electric vehicle charging by connecting drivers with available

charging stations. BreatheEV won almost every pitch competition that Max entered, including one sponsored by Dubai, and was named one of Arizona’s most innovative businesses by the Arizona Commerce Authority. Today, BreatheEV is a 12-person team and has already drawn acquisition offers. ASU is an ideal place to network; in fact, Max met BreatheEV’s co-founder, Tony, through the Luminosity Lab at ASU.

Beyond his entrepreneurial drive, Max likes to travel, perform magic, work out and stay active, and he believes that the network he gained and the support he received at ASU have enabled him to pursue a fulfilling life. “I don’t think I would have gotten the support and the resources I received from ASU at any other university.”

Jada Gonzales, ’14, is a senior technology consultant at Southwest Airlines who holds five Salesforce certifications and leads enterprise-wide Salesforce initiatives. “The lessons I learned at ASU were not just academic — they were about grit. I credit my time at ASU with giving me the ambition and resilience to keep setting bigger goals and the drive to reach them.”

Jordan Drake, ’22, is CEO of a Texas nonprofit dedicated to serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With Jordan at the helm, the organization has improved its finances, raised its community profile and increased staff morale. “ASU equipped me to approach challenges with a strategic mindset and innovative solutions. I credit much of my success to the foundation ASU provided.”

Located in the East Valley, the Polytechnic campus sits in a scenic desert landscape and offers students plenty of social spaces and a hands-on learning environment. Facilities include advanced labs with access to specialized tools, a crystal-clear lap pool and gym packed with the latest equipment, and residence halls with all the comforts and amenities.

New ASU students participate in Sun Devil Welcome at Mountain America Stadium. Occuring a couple days before the start of fall classes, Sun Devil Welcome is a high-energy event full of spirit, pride and tradition that features the ASU marching band, Sun Devil Athletics, Sparky the Sun Devil, an inspirational address by President Michael Crow and more.

You don’t have to love sports to love the fan experience. The ASU gameday atmosphere is pure passion and fire. Our student section, the Inferno, won the Big 12 Student Section of the Week twice in 2025. But if you enter the Inferno, beware: it gets loud!
