WELCOME TO ARIZONA On behalf of everyone at Arizona KEY Magazine, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Arizona, the Grand Canyon state. Our state has a long, proud tradition of professional and college sports. From now thru the first week of February, Arizona steps it up a notch and transforms into a sport’s fans paradise. Are you ready for some football? Arizona is dominated by the sport this month. Two college bowl games kick-off the action. On December 31st, the Vizio Fiesta Bowl in Glendale will pit Boise State against Arizona. A few days later on January 2nd, Washington and Oklahoma State meet in Tempe for the TicketCity Cactus Bowl. After that, the National Football League takes center stage by hosting the 22nd annual NFL Experience from January 24th through February 1st at the Phoenix Convention Center. The Pro Bowl will be played one week before the Super Bowl on January 25th. This is Fantasy Football for real, and offers fans and fantasy league players the chance to watch their favorite players on the field. The football extravaganza wraps up on February 1st when Glendale host Super Bowl XLIX at the University of Phoenix Stadium. January is also a special month for golfers. The Greatest and Greenest Show on Grass (aka the Waste Management Phoenix Open) returns to the TPC Scottsdale January 26th through February 1st. Scottsdale resident, Kevin Stadler, is back to defend his title after earning his first career win on TOUR last year. Standing in his way will be ASU alum and fan favorite, Phil Mickelson, in search of an unnprecedented fourth win at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. When not at the games, I encourage you to explore your desert surroundings. Arizona’s natural beauty begins with rugged mountains, Saguaro cactus towering over adventure trails, pink and orange sunsets you thought you only read about in Western novels, and all within steps from the most luxurious resorts. Play over 200 golf courses, soothe the body and soul in spas. Dip into a cool pool. Watch jackrabbits chase the morning sunrise. Dine on roasted chicken enchiladas, pecan crusted lamb, grilled filet to shrimp ceviche and more as culinary treats are found in every neighborhood. he National Football League will host the 22nd annual NFL Experience at the Phoenix Convention Center from January 24 - February 1, 2015. The NFL Experience Engineered by GMC is the most exciting continuous event surrounding Super Bowl XLIX – pro football’s interactive theme park offering participatory games, displays, entertainment attractions, youth football clinics and free autograph sessions from current and former NFL players*. NFL EXPERIENCE FAQ Is my ticket good for only 1 day? Yes, once your ticket is scanned you will not be allowed to re-enter the NFL Experience with the same ticket under any circumstances due to security considerations. I lost my ticket; can it be replaced? Individual tickets purchased at the box office or through Ticketmaster outlets will not be replaced. New tickets can be purchased at the box office at their face value. If I purchase tickets via Ticketmaster for a specific time period, will my ticket be honored if I come earlier or later? Yes, your ticket will be honored if you attend on the same date as printed on your ticket however, those ticketholders who come to the NFL Experience at the time printed on their ticket will be given priority. Therefore, please make every attempt to arrive at the time printed on your ticket. What NFL players will be signing autographs at the NFL Experience? To get the scheduled list of players signing autographs, please visit SuperBowl.com on January 16, 2015. Please note, all player appearances are subject to change without notice or refund. What is Fan Mobile Pass and is it required to enter the NFL Experience? Fan Mobile Pass allows fans to register their information one time at the NFL Experience and “tap-in” to all the activations, including sponsor areas, where content including greenscreen photos and videos can be delivered to a fan via their email. lendale will host a super-sweet event of its own on Super Bowl weekend, Friday, Jan. 30 and Saturday, Jan. 31. The 20th Annual Glendale Chocolate Affaire in Historic Downtown Glendale will be a chocolate lover’s paradise, with special activities geared toward sports fans, as well. The Chocolate Affaire is sponsored by Arizona’s famous candy makers, Cerreta Candy Company. The candy factory will offer tours all weekend, and visitors can expect to see some football-themed chocolate creations at the factory. Visitors will enjoy perusing nearly 40 chocolate purveyors with myriad confections to sample. Families with children will enjoy a variety of activities, including hands-on arts and crafts, face-painting and a rockclimbing wall. The exciting new attraction with a football twist will be a “Super Street” filled with live music, games and activities with decorations themed to each of the two NFL teams. The 2015 Pro Bowl is scheduled for 6 pm on January 25 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale and will be televised nationally by ESPN. The game will continue the “unconferenced” format that was debuted in the 2014 Pro Bowl. This will be the third time that the game will take place in the same site as that year’s Super Bowl and the sixth consecutive year where the Pro Bowl will take place prior to the Super Bowl. Hall of Fame Wide Receivers Cris Carter, and Michael Irvin were selected as the alumni captains of the game. The Pro Bowl format has different rules from a regular NFL game which include: • A two-minute warning will be added to the second and fourth quarters, plus overtime, and the ball will switch hands after every quarter/overtime. • No kickoffs. A coin toss will determine which team is awarded possession first, and the ball will be placed on the 25-yard line at the start of each quarter and after scoring plays. • The rosters now consist of 44 players per squad, with an additional defensive back added. • The defense is now permitted to play “cover two” and “press” coverage. In the previous years, only the “man” coverage was permitted, except for goal line situations. • Beginning at the two-minute mark of every quarter/overtime, if the offense does not gain at least one yard, the clock stops as if the play were an incomplete pass. • A 35-second and 25-second play clock is used instead of the usual 40-second and 25-second clock. • The game clock does not stop on quarterback sacks outside of the final 2 minutes of regulation.

Westgate Hosts FREE 5-Day Concert Series You don’t need a ticket to Super Bowl XLIX on Feb. 1 or a VIP party pass to get in on all of the excitement and activities surrounding the big game. Just steps from the stadium, Westgate Entertainment District will be the hub of activity in Glendale with a Super Music Series presented by Bud Light, a five-day free concert series that is open to the public. Beginning Weds. Jan. 28 through Super Bowl Sunday, Westgate’s WaterDance Plaza will transform into an outdoor concert venue with local and national bands hitting the stage. On Wednesday through Saturday festivities will run from 6pm – 10pm and on Sunday from 11am – 4pm. Each day will feature a different music genre, from classic rock and electronic dance music to country and 80’s hits. No tickets are required to take part in the fun and groove alongside fellow football fans. Attendees can enjoy Westgate’s more than 20 restaurants, bars and retailers in addition to an open-air beer garden around the stage and other fan activities. Westgate will be making a donation to the 100 Club of Arizona from a portion of the beer garden sales. During the Super Music Series, with the exception of Super Bowl Sunday, parking is free at all of Westgate’s lots surrounding the Entertainment District. 26
