In 2024, Ariel Foundation International’s Sir Moses Ekwere (Country Director) and Sir Michael Ufia (Monitoring & Evaluation Officer) visited The Immortal Cosmetics Art Gallery in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria. This visit focused on the gallery’s prosthesis section, a groundbreaking initiative creating hyper-realistic prosthetics for dark skin tones—restoring dignity and confidence to amputees.
We had the privilege of meeting Mr. John Amanam Sunday, Africa’s first designer of these prosthetics. His company, Immortal Cosmetic Art Ltd, is the only indigenous African firm in this field, impacting lives in 60+ countries. Inspired by his brother’s struggle to find a skin-compatible prosthesis, John pioneered a game-changing solution that embodies innovation and compassion.
