Johnny Nelson MBE has an undeniably impressive record of forty-five wins from fifty-nine bouts; Johnny Nelson MBE was named the second Greatest Cruiserweight of All Time by BoxRec. Most remembered for his seven-year reign as WBO Cruiserweight Champion, he is the longest-reigning cruiserweight of all time. After racing, join us in the Premier bar where we will have a DJ playing for an hour after the last race. Our next fixture is on New Years Eve. We kick off 2026 with our popular Winter Ladies Day on Jan 24th. We are only 12 weeks away from our biggest raceday of the year, The Jenningsbet Midlands Grand National and we see Martin Kemp joining us on May 16th with a DJ set for our Back to the 80s Racenight. BUTLER’S BRIEF Our New Ambassador Horse – Visiting today!

Known at home as Butty, Butler’s Brief is a 10-year-old dark bay gelding by Yeats and an eight-time hurdle winner, including two victories at Uttoxeter. In 2022, he became stuck in an open ditch at Uttoxeter, walking away unscathed and returning a month later to win at the same course, showing his courage and character. Now enjoying life after racing through Pony Club activities and Arena Eventing, with plans for showjumping, he is a superfriendly horse who loves a carrot and a fuss. If Get Up Mush is able to pick up where he left off 15 months ago he’ll be a serious threat, while Il Va de Soi brings potential to the table and Politacus needs a second look on her chase debut.
