to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital

KEY Owner Breeding Breeder Jockey Trainer Sponsor Star Ratings Explained
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
HHHHH Selected to win the race.
HHHHI Good chance of being placed
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. HIIII Can be given little or no chance
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating
WHERE TO BET
There are a variety of places to bet at the course; Britbet has selling points throughout the racecourse - easily identified by the Britbet signs.
The bookmakers are located in front of the grandstand in the ‘Betting Ring’. The bookmakers display their odds for each race and compete to offer the best price to customers. These are fixed price bets and the amount of your winnings will be printed on your betting slip. Search around to get the best price for your selection.
Minimum Stakes
The Tote has a minimum bet of £2. The bookmakers vary but if they have a minimum it will be shown on the boards displaying their odds. If in doubt – just ask.
KEY Jockey Trainer
1 SCHUBERT OF AUCKHORN
John Lamb - JPL Racing Tallulah Roberts
Remains a maiden on the flat after 12 attempts eases in grade but this does look tough Interesting to see last time out wining jockey aboard this one.
2 ORKNEYS
GOLD
John Lamb - JPL Racing Isabella Oliver
A maiden on the Flat but has been placed on many occasions a lightweight determined jockey could make the difference today.
3 ORKNEYS LITTLE JOE
John Lamb - JPL Racing Luella Bass
Hasn’t won on the flat since winning on debut 7 years ago Often runs a good race Cheekpieces back on and a return to a surface should makes this Interesting with a good young jockey aboard
4 OAKES OF AUCKHORN
John Lamb - JPL Racing Maisie Ward
Has had limited runs on the flat but ran well in a bumper at the end of last year and on this seasonal reappearance has the help of a very experienced jockey
5 ORKNEYS PLATINUM
Nicki Marsden - JPL Racing Ella Warren
First flat race for Platinum since switching trainers, has raced with credit in the past and should do so again with this young jockey making her debut
6 BAYVIEW
TREMENDOUS
Nicki Marsden - JPL Racing Lauren Morse
A good start is key with this experienced pony, could do with a slightly longer trip but will be aiming to close them all down as they go through the race from bottom weight.
7 LILLEROSENDALS EDGAR
Nicki Marsden - JPL Racing Esse Lee
Loves this kind of race & will relish the trip would be surprised if it wasn’t up with the pace early and will hope to use their experience to get In front when it matters.
8 NEVILLE
Nicki Marsden - JPL Racing Lily May-Bush
Second season pony who has improved with every run, down in class after a great race here in December that run alone has to put him firmly in the mix. has the aid of a jockey who knows this course well
9 TEDWORTH OF HARDENLEY
Nicki Marsden - JPL Racing Poppy Bush
A runaway winner in this grade in the past has a lightweight jockey aboard who will be hoping that to go a few places better than their last run.
10 KNIX NADINE
Nicki Marsden - JPL Racing Lily Morse
Very rarely runs a bad race and returns to a grade where the mare has won previously This is easier than recent assignments has to have a chance
11 LUNAR LARSEN
Nicki
Marsden
- JPL Racing
Jasper Roberts
Jockeys first race aboard this young pony who has been in the winners enclosure recently Should figure in the business end of this race
12 HELLO JIMMY
Nicki Marsden - JPL Racing
Sofia Hills
Steps down from Group level to graded for the first time in a while. Has bundles of speed and the assistance on a top young rider. The most likely speed to the race and may be tough to catch.
Race Review : It Appears Nicki Marsden may hold the aces for this race, Hello Jimmy has had limited runs but has accounted for most of these in the past. Neville Ran well for a young pony last time and eased in grade could find the improvement that’s needed & Lillerosendals Edgar although preferring grass, has to have a good chance
