Proud Champions of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme All of our member racecourses participate in the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme, a nationwide initiative for those with disabilities that may not be visible. A sunflower lanyard discretely signals to staff that the person wearing the lanyard may need additional support or a little more time when attending racedays. Guests are welcome to bring their own lanyards or to register in advance by contacting the racecourse they’ll be attending. Sunflower lanyards can also be collected at certain entrance points. If you would like more information, please ask a member of staff.

WISEGUY looked a nice prospect when landing a bumper 10 months ago and there’s no obvious reason to think he won’t take to hurdling, so he’s preferred to Datsalrightgino, who is also having his first go in this sphere. Of those with experience over timber, Calidad is the pick.

John Rogerson This race is run in memory of John Rogerson, a former Steward and Patron at Fontwell Park. He was also a Senior Steward of the Jockey Club’s National Hunt committee, as well as being a successful owner. His most notable horse was Pas Seul, which won the 1960 Cheltenham Gold Cup and 1961 Whitbread Gold Cup. RACE STATS LEADING COURSE TRAINER (16-21): G Moore (72 wins from 375 runners, 19%) runs DORKING LAD TRAINER-IN-FORM (LAST 14 DAYS): G Moore (12 wins from 41 runners, 29%) runs DORKING LAD WEIGHTWATCHER: LUCKOFTHEDRAW won off a handicap mark of 129, his rating is now down 21lb to 108. LONGEST TRAVELLER: LUCKOFTHEDRAW trained by T Bulgin, Thetford, 155 miles. RACE SUMMARY

ROMANOR comes here at the top of his game and looks to have been found an excellent opportunity to bag a third win of the season. Gary Moore’s Dorking Lad shaped with some encouragement when fourth on his fencing bow here so is feared most ahead of Nightfly, who has the form to play a part if shrugging off her comeback effort. 1-2-3: 1.ROMANOR 2.DORKING LAD 3.NIGHTFLY KEY

COMMITMENT TO HORSE WELFARE We are committed to minimising risks, dealing quickly and humanely with injuries and maintaining the highest level of care. At every meeting there are three specially qualified Equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all horses in action. A British Horseracing Authority Veterinary Officer is also in attendance working closely with the racecourse veterinary team. This is to ensure that any injury to a horse is recorded, so that it can be monitored when it returns to racing. It is now a standard practice for screens to be erected around any horse receiving veterinary attention on the course. This does not reflect the severity of an injury, but allows the vet some privacy in which to administer treatment and provides the horse with a calmer environment. Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse. To find out more about our Equine Welfare policy, please visit our website:
