If an incident occurs which is beyond our control, it is important that you are aware of how we intend to look after you in the event of an emergency As part of our Safety management, we have employed professionally trained and experienced stewards and you will see them at various points throughout the racecourse In the event of a situation, which requires partial or full evacuation of the stands or racecourse, announcements will be broadcast and stewards will undertake the responsibility of ushering you to a place of safety; it is essential that you follow their instructions. Please take your immediate belongings with you and proceed out of the area quickly and calmly with the guidance of the stewards. The evacuation procedures have been carefully planned to lead you to a safe area. Star Ratings Explained
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
HHHHH Selected to win the race
HHHHI Good chance of being placed
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims.
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope
HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions
A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in nonhandicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h.

Race preview from Weatherbys
It is an absolute pleasure to be sponsoring the Weatherbys nhstallions.co.uk Handicap Hurdle at Ffos Las this afternoon, with a competitive field of 13 set to go to post.
Sean Bowen rode the winner of the race 12 months ago and takes the ride aboard Berkshire Smudge for Rebecca Curtis here. The four year old previously a winner here on the flat at Ffos Las has improved with every start over hurdles and makes his handicap debut from a mark of 98. James Bowen takes the ride aboard Forever Penywern, who should be suited by this drop back in trip. Warren Greatrex’s four year old looks well treated on flat form, winning at Goodwood and Chelmsford City, and remains unexposedoverhurdles.
Walk In The West is another who drops back in trip for Anthony Honeyball, and he caught the eye whenagoodsecondoverthistripat Taunton in March. The Sam Twiston Davies ridden six year old hold plenty of potential in handicaps and looks to have conditions in his favour. Get The Value heads the weights with David Noonan in the saddle, but the eight year old does
benefit from a sliding mark now 1lb below his last winning mark. The Getaway gelding won over this trip at Stratford last term and will appreciatethequickeningground.
Ontheotherhand,PrinceRhinegold sneaks in here right at the foot of the weights. Although slightly below form last time, the form of his Wincanton runner up finish in March reads well and a repeat of that performance would see him go close. David Pipe’s PennAvenue was behind that rival at Wincanton but does meet on 2lb better terms here. The Mohaather filly perhaps did a little too much in front at Ayr last time but remains with potential andistriedinfirsttimecheekpieces here.
BenPaulingandBenJonescombine here with Collanisi and he makes muchmoreappealnowswitchingto handicaps. The six year old shaped wellforalongwayatWetherbylast time and should go on improving. Uncle Remus arrives here on the backofabreakforRobertStephens but was a nice third on handicap debut at Uttoxeter when last seen and will only improve with further experience.
