Highland Crystal looks to maintain her unbeaten record, she won with any amount in hand at Newbury and will be hard to beat. Manlaga had previously won in France before moving to Nicky Henderson and could be absolutely anything. Tralee Girl was clear second best behind Highland Crystal at Newbury and again will look to place at the very least.
12.55
A competitive looking Grade 2 Novice Hurdle and with approximate odds of 4/1 the field, this will offer plenty of opportunities for each way backers. Ben Pauling’s Kicour La has won two small races at Leicester in easy fashion and now steps up in class. Dan Skelton’s Carlenrig won a Grade 2 last time at Cheltenham by a narrow margin and had previously been beaten by Rocking Man at Chepstow. Ruth Jefferson looks to have a decent sort in Country Code, winner of his two previous races in good fashion could well reward each way backers, currently priced 8/1
13:30
The soft ground conditions will likely suit Feet Of A Dancer The Paul Nolan trained mare finished ahead of Dream On Baby (who carried a 3lb penalty) over Christmas at Leopardstown. Dream On Baby may not be suited to testing conditions and may find it hard to reverse the form of her last run. Jetara is a course and distance winner She found it too tough in the Christmas Hurdle but is a top class staying mare who cannot be discounted. Lavida Adiva is another course and distance winner A repeat of her last performance would see her go close here.
14.05
This looks like a competitive renewal of the Great Yorkshire Chase with plenty here having a chance. Docpickedme, Josh The Boss and Grand Geste are all likely to be up with the pace. Deep Cave has been in good form this winter A likely strong pace should suit his chances, and it looks like he may get a race run to suit him. King’s Threshold may have wanted better ground conditions but did win well on soft ground over a shorter trip at Warwick.
14:38
A decent looking class 3 Novice Handicap Chase over 3 miles which will take a bit of getting in the advertised soft going. If you can excuse Newton Tornado’s bad mistake at Newbury last he will be in with a real fighting chance here. Noble Park is in the same category and needs to revive his previous form after mistakes last time Paddy O’Mahler who has been ultra consistent this season and can continue his rise up the weights with a prominent display here.
15:13
Might Bandit looks the one to beat here. James Bowen takes the ride today, hoping to emulate his brother’s success of riding this 6-year-old to victory at Newbury last month over the same distance. Grain d’Oudairies also has a claim here, but prefers good to soft ground. Milan Tino won over 2 miles last month off a 12/1 SP and should be more respected here.
15:48
The Dan Skelton trained Diamond Street will be well fancied here, Tristan Durrell is given the honors. Jockey and Trainer are in red hot form so expect a lot of support here. Hobbson’s Day & Elderflower Tonic are also two to watch here. Hobbson’s Day ran well and finished strongly last time out in October and finished a close 2nd, the softer ground could be the difference here. Elderflower Tonic was an impressive winner in a 3 mile mares’ maiden point to point last time out.

Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race.
HHHHI Good chance of being placed.
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope.
HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

He is taken to defy a 10lb rise in the weights and follow-up, with the progressive Deep Cave andWalking On Air, who appeared to have Docpickedme where he wanted him when exiting at the final fence in this race last year, both greatly respected.
