FRIDAY 24th APRIL 2026

PROUD SPONSORS OF PROSTATE CYMRU
CHEPSTOW RACECOURSE CHEPSTOW, MONMOUTHSHIRE. NP16 6BE. PRICE - £3.50 30 ANNIVERSARY YEARS

Welcome to Chepstow Racecourse for a fantastic evening of racing as we mark the finale of a superb National Hunt season and celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Dunraven Bowl. This much-loved raceday features the best novice point-to-pointers from South and West Wales, making it a true highlight of the spring calendar
Our sincere thanks go to all owners, trainers, jockeys, and connections for their continued support we wish you all the very best of luck this evening.
We are also extremely grateful to our longstanding sponsors, Dunraven Windows, for their continued and valued support. Their partnership has been integral to the success of this fixture, and we are delighted to welcome them back for this milestone year 30 years of the sponsorship for one fixture is an extraordinary level of commitment and as we welcome the team from Dunraven back today, we are thrilled to unveil the Dunraven Bowl Honour board, located in the Premier Foyer, celebrating all of the previous winners since the race was first run in 1996. We look forward to seeing who will add their name to the list in this year’s renewal.
As our jumps season concludes with this meeting, we are looking forward to welcoming back flat racing with our first raceday of the summer season on Thursday 21st May. Just a reminder that our previously scheduled first flat meeting of the summer on the 12th May has been moved to Bath racecourse to allow for necessary drainage works to improve the track.
2026 is a landmark year as we celebrate our Centenary, with a fantastic season of events building towards our Centenary Raceday on Sunday 9th August—one to mark firmly in your diary.
Looking ahead to the summer, don’t miss UB40 featuring Ali Campbell performing live after racing at our Rum and Reggae Caribbean Racenight on Friday 24th July. Hospitality options are filling fast, so be sure to get in touch if you’d like to join us in one of our premium spaces.
We’re also delighted to welcome Olivia Bowen and Alex Bowen for this year’s Ladies Day. Moving to a Saturday evening, Olivia will host the Style Awards while Alex takes to the decks for a live DJ set after racing on Saturday 27th June—an event not to be missed.
We hope you enjoy a fantastic evening of racing with us, and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
Warm regards,
Luke Admans - Executive Director at Chepstow

SPONSOR THANKS & OFFICIALS

The Management reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone and to remove any person from the course without assigning a reason for doing so We do not accept responsibility for loss or damage to a person or their property This is stated in our T&Cs, which may be obtained from the Racecourse Office
This is an ideal opportunity for racegoers to see the horses close up and assess their attitude and fitness. The horses begin to parade 15-20 minutes before their race, and this is a great chance to pick your horse.
The Racecourse Betting shop is situated in the Grandstand & Paddock enclosure. The bookmakers are located in the betting ring in front of the main Grandstand.
This is located opposite the Winning Post and all jockeys weigh out here before each race. Their weight, including their saddle, should correspond with the weight shown in today’s racecard for their particular horse in that particular race. Once the race is finished, the jockeys will weigh in and their weight must be the same as when they started. On racedays, four stewards ensure each race is run according to Jockey Club rules and regulations.
It is a condition of entry to this Racecourse that only individuals in possession of a valid betting badge and occupying an authorised pitch are entitled to lay bets on the course of their business. Any individual found contravening these conditions will be evicted.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control racing has had to be suspended, will you please evacuate the buildings by the emergency exits. You will be guided by members of the racecourse staff to specific assembly points, determined by which area you are in. Once there, please wait until the emergency services and/or racecourse staff tell you what to do”.
Please see the assembly points clearly marked on the map.

After each race, the first four placed horses are led into the Winners Enclosure where they are unsaddled and the jockeys take the saddle and weigh in. There are presentations by race sponsors to the connections of the winning on the winner’s podium.

Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
HHHHH Selected to win the race
HHHHI Good chance of being placed.
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions
A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in nonhandicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h.
You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet
If you cannot produce this your bet will not be accepted
