Our next fixture takes place on Wednesday 15th July when we will be proud to support the incredible Bath and Wiltshire AirAmbulance Charity. The charity team will be with us throughout the day, sharing the vital work they do across our region and explaining why fundraising is so important in helping them continue their lifesaving service. We would be delighted if you could join us, show your support and help us raise awareness for this remarkable cause. For every ticket bought there is a charity donation to this very worthy cause.

ABANDONMENT POLICY

In the event of racing being abandoned, thefollowing rules apply:

• Abandonment before completion of the 1st race –badge valid for the next race meeting or full refund

• Abandonment prior to completion of the 3rd race –50% refund

• Abandonment thereafter – no refund

No refunds will be made on the day of racing. All refunds should be claimed in writing within 14 days of the abandoned meeting.

ADMISSION BADGES

Racegoers are politely requested to ensure their badges are worn and to be clearly visible at all times. If you have purchased an E-ticket, please ensure you have this with you at all times.

DISABLED USERS

A disabled viewing ramp is available for wheelchair users by the Winning Post. There is disabled access to both restaurants and a variety of disabled toilets across the racecourse.

DOGS

Dogs, with the exception of guide dogs, are not permitted within any of the enclosures.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES FOR YOUR SAFETY

Bath Racecourse puts in place robust safety measures to ensure your safety, comfort and enjoyment. Should an incident occur which is beyond our control, it is important that you are aware of how we intend to look after you. As part of our safety management, we have employed professionally trained and experienced securitystaffto be located atvarious points throughout the Racecourse. This information is precautionary and we trust the procedures will not be needed.

Please remember in the event of an emergency, to take your belongings with you and, under the direction of Bath Racecourse representatives, proceed quickly and quietly to the agreed area.

HORSE AND JOCKEY WELFARE AT BATH

Nothing matters more to us when racing than the safety and welfare of both horse and rider Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing

surface. On duty today we also have a dedicated and experienced team of highly-qualified Vets, Doctors and Paramedics following the action at every stage. Their key responsibility is to monitor and provide care to the competitors throughout their time at the racecourse. The locations and vehicle movements of these skilled specialists during racing are designed to provide a rapid response to any incident across the site. We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital.

It is our standard practice to erect screens around any horse or jockey requiring attention on the course as this provides privacy and a safe, calm environment in which to accurately diagnose and treat the patient as necessary Please do not assume the worst if screens are erected around a horse. We are fully committed to minimizing risk in our sport, to dealing professionally and efficiently with any injury, and to maintaining the highest possible quality of care for the horses and jockeys racing here today. PHOTOGRAPHY

Racegoers may take photographs for private use. However, no flash photography is allowed around the Pre-Parade Ring, Parade Ring or Winners Enclosure. Anyone with a professional/ high quality level of equipment needs to be granted permission to take photography on course in order to protect our racecourse image rights.

Please also be aware that racegoers entering Bath Racecourse do so by accepting our terms and conditions of entry, which state that their photograph may be taken and that this may be used in promotional material.

TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS

In orderto ease traffic congestion on leaving the course please would all traffic for Bath and the South West exit via the right hand lane, and traffic for Bristol and the North East exit via the left hand lane. It is hoped that these arrangements will provide a smoother exit for all patrons and your co-operation is appreciated.

The family found out about Make-A-Wish through Malakai’s social worker at referral partner, Young Lives vs Cancer.

When he was diagnosed, Malakai received a giant LEGO® set as a gift and LEGO quickly became a coping mechanism and staple of everyday life during this tough time. “He received Lego for his birthday and Christmas as well. He absolutely loves LEGO.” Mum said.

Malakai’s best friend had also recently been to LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort and kept telling Malakai how much fun he’d had so it made perfect sense that Malakai’s wish was a trip to LEGOLAND for himself.

Despite the early morning flight from Scotland, Malakai was really excited as he’d never been on a plane before and absolutely loved it. “Once we landed in London, there was a taxi waiting with ‘Mr Austin’ on it, so he got to have his Hollywood moment, with his name on the board.” laughed Mum.

Malakai’s favourite part of the day was going on the submarines, as part of LEGO® City Deep Sea Explorers, which he did a grand total of 11 times! The family also got to experience a muchneeded reprieve from the constant worry and uncertainty they’d been experiencing since June. As mum reflected:

“We made use of every single moment. It was an escape we didn’t know we needed from the norms of everyday life.”

Adding to this, Dad said “Thank you. This is a gift we could never give and we’re really, really thankful.”

Nothing matters more to us when racing than the safety and welfare of both horse and rider. Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing surface. On duty todaywe also have a dedicated and experienced team of highly-qualifiedVets, Doctors and Paramedics following the action at every stage. Their key responsibility is to monitor and provide care to the competitors throughout theirtime at the racecourse. The locations andvehicle movements of these skilled specialists during racing are designed to provide a rapid response to anyincident across the site. We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital.

It is our standard practice to erect screens around any horse or jockey requiring attention on the course as this provides privacy and a safe, calm environment in which to accurately diagnose and treat the patient as necessary Please do not assume the worst if screens are erected around a horse. Hodgkin lymphoma

In June 2024, Malakai’s parents found a lump in his neck and immediately took him to the doctors. Endless tests, scans and biopsy meant an agonising wait for answers. The results led to a diagnosis that no child or their parents should ever have to hear: Hodgkin lymphoma.

Soon after, Malakai was kept in hospital for nine days to begin chemotherapy. “It was quite an intense time, as it was also his brother Marlow’s first day of primary one,” recalled Mark, Malakai’s dad. “So, you had two monumental days where you had to be in two places at once, juggling both roles and situations.”

During this difficult period, the family grappled with the uncertainty of the diagnosis and the sudden shift in Malakai’s health. Mum Meghan explained:

“He’s always been so full of life. A month before the diagnosis he climbed a Munro and the next month, he was struggling to breathe after ten minutes. He was unable to live as the boy he is and the boy he wanted to be.”

Although Malakai has been in remission, a recent scan showed that the cancer may have returned. The family is currently waiting for a scan later this year to confirm the results. “We suspect the worst but hope for the best.” said Dad.
