Facades+ Seattle brings together top professionals from the worlds of design, engineering, fabrication, and construction to consider how high-performance envelopes are evolving and transforming the built environment across North America, and are responding to changing codes, climates, technologies, and client needs in the Pacific Northwest.

CHARLOTTE JOLLY Associate Principal / ZGF
Charlotte Jolly, LEED ID+C, LFA, is an Associate Principal in ZGF’s Seattle office. Charlotte designs interiors that push the boundaries of what is conventionally considered sustainable, from corporate workplaces to higher education and healthcare projects. She mentors other architects and designers on how to select truly sustainable materials that consider all qualifications outlined by the AIA Materials Pledge and helped write ZGF’s Material Playbook, an in-depth guide on selecting better materials. She has hosted panels and co-written published articles on how to design lower embodied carbon interiors. She was also recognized as an Emerging Leader by the Design Intelligence Futures Council.
TIM MEYERS Associate Principal / ZGF
Tim Meyers, AIA, is an Associate Principal in ZGF’s Seattle office. He is an architect and computational designer with nearly 15 years of experience on large, complex projects in both the public and private sectors, with a specialized focus in stadium and venue design. He leads the computational analysis of building performance, embodied carbon, and user experience, finding innovative solutions to inform design decisions through all project stages. His extensive experience in architectural analytics and sustainable design has led to his particular expertise in producing highly efficient designs with advanced building performance. Recent work includes the City of Boulder Western City Campus development and Microsoft East Campus Modernization Project.
JUSTIN BROOKS
Principal / ZGF
Justin Brooks, is a Principal in ZGF’s Portland office. He is passionate about preserving the environment through low impact design, with experience designing one of the greenest buildings in the country—the Rocky Mountain Institute’s net-zero energy Innovation Center—as well as high-performance laboratories for Stanford University’s Biomedical Innovation Building, the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Health Sciences Building, and the PAE Living Building.

MARC BRUNE
Senior Principal / PAE
A leader in next-generation engineering for over two decades, Marc has led the mechanical and energy-systems design for many of the world’s most prominent net-positive energy buildings, including the Bullitt Center, Rocky Mountain Institute Innovation Center, the Kendeda Building at Georgia Tech, and the PAE Living Building. He believes that designers have a responsibility to create buildings that minimize resource use and is grateful to be part of a design community working toward a net zero carbon future.

RYAN BUSSARD
Design Director / Perkins&Will
Ryan brings over 24 years of experience in creating and leading architectural designs including a diverse range of award-winning projects. He takes inspiration from his clients’ aspirations and visions to create iconic structures and memorable spaces. Ryan’s experience includes an emphasis on commercial development and science/technology, as well as civic and cultural facilities, higher education, and student life facilities. As Design Principal, Ryan leads the design, facilitates an inclusive design process, and directs all design presentations.

KRISTEN DOTSON
Principal, Worldwide Sustainability, Sustainable Buildings / Amazon
Kristen Dotson is a dedicated sustainability professional with extensive experience in green building performance, building certifications, Scope 3 embodied carbon, mass timber, healthy materials, and sustainability implementation & process improvement. She is currently leveraging all of these skills and experiences for Amazon’s Worldwide Sustainability organization as part of the Sustainable Buildings team.

JESS HARRIS
Green Building Program Manager / City of Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections
Jess Harris is the Green Building Program Manager at the Seattle Department of Constructionand Inspections (SDCI), where he leads the development, promotion, and administration of thecity’s green building incentive programs. Jess spearheaded the creation of Priority Green, one of the region’s first expedited permitting incentives.

REBECCA HUTCHINSON
Associate Principal / Mahlum
Becky’s 18 years of experience between Boston and Seattle has focused on educational clients and the design of new learning environments – both inside and out – for our next generation of students, teachers, and communities. She has served as a project architect and project manager at Mahlum for the past 11 years where she focuses on creating smart, sustainable spaces for K-12 learners.

IRENE MARTIN
Associate Principal / Arup
Irene Pau Martin is an Associate Principal at Arup with an Environmental and Mechanical Engineering background. She leads the Building Envelope Physics sub-discipline within the Americas Region and co-leads the Los Angeles Facades team. Having worked in London and Los Angeles, Irene has 16 years of experience on international projects ranging from historic buildings to new-build museums and office towers.

Principal / Weber Thompson
Weber Thompson Principal Todd Mayne is a Construction Administration specialist with a focus on mass timber and other construction technologies in complex mid-rise and high-rise commercial and residential buildings Todd excels at bringing designs to life by balancing design intent with the application of technology to achieve real-world solutions.

JOSEPH MAYO
Associate Principal / Mahlum
Joining Mahlum in 2008, Joseph Mayo is an architect and author of the first book devoted solely to mass timber commercial buildings. He has worked on over a dozen mass timber projects, including the Capitol Campus Childcare Center in Olympia, Washington (Mahlum’s first Net Zero CLT project); a multi-story, K-12 CLT prototype grant with the United States Forest Service; and he assisted in pushing for Alki Elementary School to be Seattle Public Schools’ first three-story mass timber school.

TERESA MOROSEOS
Research Engineer / University of Washington
Teresa Moroseos, AIA is a Research Engineer at the Integrated Design Lab (IDL) in the University of Washington’s (UW) College of Built Environments and a Teaching Associate in the Department of Architecture. Her research includes studying the impact of extreme weather events on building energy use and thermal comfort, and optimizing energy use, daylighting, indoor air quality, and the operational lifecycle impacts of buildings. In her role at the UW IDL, she works as a consultant on design projects throughout the United States and provides technical expertise to improve daylighting and energy performance for retrofits and new construction.

MICHELLE MURRAY
Architectural Sales Representative / SAFTFIRST ®
Michelle Murray has over 15 years of experience in the architectural glazing industry. As the Architectural Sales Representative at SAFTIFIRST ®, she brings her extensive knowledge and expertise of fire rated glazing systems and fenestration in general when working closely with architects, specifiers, glazing contractors and code officials. Michelle is a dynamic presenter and speaker who has been delivering our AIA-registered presentation to various architecture firms, AIA local chapters, CSI local chapters, and at other architectural and glazing industry events.

TAD NEESER
Architect / Perkins&Will
With experiences ranging from higher education to high-rise residential sectors, Tad specializes in creating human-centered spaces inspired by principles of the natural environment. He seeks opportunities to foster connections between users and the architecture, ensuring aesthetics strike a balance between an environment that is both practical, yet information rich. From bigpicture concepts to construction technicality, Tad’s design contributions have led to beautiful, well-organized architecture that enhances the user experience.

Business Development Manager - Texas / Longboard Architectural Products
My name is Red Ramsey and I am the Business Development Manager for Longboard Architectural Products in the South Central which includes AR, LA, MO, OK, and Texas (based in Houston). I have been a representative for interior and exterior architectural building products for about 6 years with a focus on being a resource for architects and contractors to create a smooth transition from design to install. My hope is to work through the details early to iron out any hiccups before they become problems.

As a Professional Engineer and owner of Blackcomb Facade Technology, J-F Robert has focused his practice on significant curtainwall projects. His experience ranges from 60 story high rise, PHI certified commercial buildings, high end residences and complex freeform structures. Blackcomb Façade Technology is the exclusive fabrication partner for RAICO Bautechnik in the Pacific Northwest for all systems types including Timber, Steel and Aluminum.

HARRY RODIN III
Senior Project Manager / DCI ENGINEERS
Harry’s DCI journey began with an internship in the time between earning his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Structural Engineering at Washington State University. Joining the firm officially in 2018, Harry has since been an integral part of DCI’s team, often involved in mass timber projects throughout the region. In the past, Harry served as the co-chair of the AIA Mass Timber Committee and still assists with their efforts to this day. Beyond mass timber, Harry enjoys working on a variety of other projects. His experience includes high rises, data centers, schools and residential projects throughout Seattle, California, Texas and into the Midwest.

JACK RUSK
CEO and Co-founder / C.Scale
Jack Rusk the CEO and co-founder of C.Scale, a software startup democratizing access to whole life carbon data and design strategy. C.Scale was founded on the belief that data-driven tools can help get “all hands on deck” in the work of transforming buildings and cities from a climate burden to a climate solution. Jack is a graduate of the Yale School of the Environment and the Yale School of Architecture. In the past few years, he has published or presented research on ecosystem restoration, life cycle impacts of bio-based materials, urban hazard risk, and decarbonization policy’s consequences for health and social equity.

GAVIN SMITH
Project Manager / Perkins&Will
Gavin Smith is a Project Manager with vast expertise in all phases of architecture and design. With 23 years of experience at Perkins&Will, he has helped clients realize their visions on both national and international projects on science and technology and corporate mixed-use projects. Gavin is well-versed in specific issues associated with environmental design and uses a collaborative approach for the successful delivery of technically complex projects.

THOMAS STEARNS
Operations Manager / SWINERTON
Thomas Stearns is an Operations Manager at SWINERTON and brings over 18 years of construction experience with expertise in project and design development management. Stearns has mentored owners, consultants, and project teams on the benefits and implementation of mass timber structures. Notable Seattle mass timber projects include Northlake Commons and Heartwood Workforce Housing.

JESSE WALTON
Associate Principal / Mahlum
Jesse Walton, AIA LEED AP BD+C is an Associate Principal with more than 20 years of experience with educational clients, Jesse is passionate about creating sustainable, healthy spaces for learners of all ages. As project architect and energy efficiency specialist he works closely with design teams and district staff to maximize efficiency, and thermal comfort. An early adopter of BIM, he is an office-wide leader in Revit documentation, building envelope design, and energy code compliance. Jesse is committed to mentoring Mahlum staff and sharing his knowledge of the profession.

NEIL WARBURTON
Principal, Senior Building Science Specialist / RDH Building Science Inc.
Neil’s versatility allows him to contribute to RDH’s New Buildings, Existing Buildings, and Energy & Climate practice areas in Washington. Neil is a Building Science Specialist who works tirelessly to ensure that project requirements and client expectations are achieved. He works on a wide range of New Buildings and Existing Buildings projects, and he is committed to exploring and integrating Passive House and high-performance buildings on the West Coast of the United States.Before joining RDH in 2005, Neil worked with another building enclosure consulting firm in Ontario, where he focused on roofing condition assessments and construction as well as fire protection field inspections.

BRIAN WHITE
Technical Manager – Americas Insulating Glass / H.B. Fuller
Brian White is the Technical Manager for the Americas Insulating Glass team at H.B. Fuller Company, where he manages research and development and technical service for North America. Brian has been with H.B. Fuller for 10 years, starting as a scientist developing insulating glass sealants and gaining experience and familiarity within the fenestration industry. Currently, he is active in the Insulating Glass Manufacturer’s Alliance (IGMA), Insulating Glass Certification Council (IGCC), American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), and supports activities in ASTM and the National Glass Association (NGA).
