Jazz trumpeter wows Leeuwin By Brian Coyne Australia's newest concert Impresario, Bishop Peter Quinn, was understandably pleased last Saturday night with the huge turnout at Leeuwin Estate for a Jubilee Charity Concert starring international Jazz virtuoso, James Morrison. More than 4,000 people spent an idyllic summer evening commemorating the 2000th Anniversary of Christian culture by attending the concert and contributing tens of thousands of dollars to social welfare initiatives in the Bunbury diocese. As well as perfect weather, an outstanding venue and brilliant performances, the audience was treated to a beautifully orchestrated, understated lighting display on the artists; the acoustic shell and the sound engineering was second to none. This is not the only occasion on which this venue is to be used for a jubilee celebration. Fr Pat Rooney, Parish Priest for Margaret River and Augusta told The Record, "'Dicta and Dennis Horgan have also kindly offered their grounds for a special jubilee Mass on Easter Sunday at 11.30am.
